Chapter 29 - I hate this job

"I hate this job..." Alora muttered with a small frown as she swept the large furry carpet that seemed to have not been cleaned for years.

With a chuckle, Leon swirled his glass of red wine and took in the sweet smell with great delight as he teasingly responded, "Didn't you say you could handle my generosity?"

"I don't think you understand the meaning of generosity," Alora rolled her eyes as she retorted.

"Really?" Leon chuckled, "I thought I understood it well enough. Isn't everyone looking to get promoted? What could be better than getting a better job?"

"You could have also promoted me to become a trainer for the hound dogs or perhaps a personal bodyguard. Even working as a soldier would have been better than this...!"

"Since when do the hound dogs need training and why would a bodyguard be weaker than the person she is trying to guard?" Leon scoffed as he questioned, "A soldier is only needed in a war and if there is no land to conquer nor opposition to fight, why would I need a soldier like you?"

Alora hated the fact that the man was right so she pursed her lips unhappily and continued on with her work.

"Let me know when you are done with your work. There is more stuff to clean," Leon looked to be happy as he bossed her around.

"At this point, you're just straight up bullying me," Alora muttered unhappily.

"Oh honey, you don't know what real bullying means," Leon responded with a smirk.

"..." Alora wanted to inform the man that she had no interest in knowing what it was either but she decided to shut her mouth and stayed silent.

Under the orders of the demon prince, the three succubi were banished from the palace, but they were not completely exiled from hell like Leon had originally promised.

The reason why he did such a thing was simply to toy with Alora.

Alora thought that the man was indirectly helping her through this but in reality, Leon had his own plans that were not the same as hers.

Simply banishing them from the palace would only reassure Leon's safety but would not affect the deal Alora had made with the three female demons. If they couldn't kill the demon prince, the three would try to seek revenge against Alora who rooted them out.

This was a win-win situation for Leon who would not only be getting rid of annoying rebelious pest but would also be getting rid of this mortal who had thrown his life out of balance.

Of course, it was only natural that Alora remained oblivious to all this and carried on with her new job which was basically to clean up the demon prince's room.

Amidst the darkness of hell, lay the dark forest that was haunted by all types of beasts and other unearthly beings who were painted in sin.

No proper demons dared to come here out of fear for their own safety. However, today, there were three female demons that had been forced out of the palace without any prior warning.

"I'm gonna kill her," Mari gritted out with a frown as she walked along the faintly marked path in the dark forest.

"I don't think that's going to be easy," Dorothy pointed out with a sigh as she responded, "The demon prince seems to value her. If he didn't, she wouldn't have dared to rat us out."

"It doesn't matter who is behind her!" Mari immediately exclaimed as she got even more angered just by thinking about it, "She broke a deal with a demon and now she has to pay the price!"

Beth sighed as she heard this and commented, "It's a pity that her skin can only be worn by one of us. It was so soft and clear. I really liked it...!"

"Her skin?" Mari gritted out as she repeated sarcastically and scoffed, "When I'm done with her, even the skin won't be left behind!"

"Now~ Now~" Beth gulped as she put on an awkward smile and patted the woman's back as she tried to calm her down, "There is no need to be so impulsive. Why waste some good resource?"

Dorothy nodded her head unhesitantly as she agreed with the woman and tried to persuade Mari.

"Well... I guess the skin is reusable," Mari frowned as she spoke in defeat.

Beth and Dorothy chuckled as they heard this but said nothing.

"I'm still going to make a sausage out of her internal organs."

"Why not just eat her soul?" Dorothy tilted her head innocently and asked.

"I'll put that as the end dessert. I'd like to see her suffer first 'cause souls in anguish taste their best."

"Good idea," Beth closed her eyes calmly and nodded her head as she agreed.

Dorothy opened her mouth to say something but suddenly, the three were interrupted by a new voice.

"I didn't think I'd get to witness such a spicy conversation but I am glad that I decided to drop by."

The three woman stopped on their tracks and their eyes dangerously narrowed down on the man that had casually spoke up, all the while, sitting up a tree.

"Another human?" It was Beth who questioned first with a visible frown on her face.

Mari's eyes widened in shock and she faltered a step back as she shook her head, "He's not a human."

The man chuckled but said nothing as he heard this.

"You know him?" Dorothy asked as she glanced over at Mari.

Mari gulped as she slowly nodded her head, "I saw him next to that girl. He's her friend."

Dorothy's eyes immediately snapped towards the man with hostility as she heard this.

"It seems that your eyes are good," The man nodded his head as he appreciated Mari's ability to see through him, but at the very next minute, he continued to say something that was rather a bit offensive, "Unfortunately your tongue is a bit loose."
