Pearl's POV...
It was midnight already, and everyone was completely wasted. I wondered how they were going to deal with hangovers and going to the office tomorrow.
I hardly ever get drunk, no matter how much I drink, so I didn't have to worry about hangovers tomorrow.
Sia and Mackenzie were still on the dance floor dancing their hearts out although they were terrible at the job because all they were doing was grinding their ass against some of our co-workers, which I know they are all going to end up filled with regrets about their actions when It's morning.
I had only just stopped dancing and left the dance floor because I needed to take a break, so I went to the bar to sit, and also to settle the bills since I know we had to leave the club soon since it was a Wednesday night, plus I was already feeling a little exhausted.
I had so much fun, and I was already feeling exhausted and I needed to rest.
However, I was still beyond ecstatic.
"Hey, what's my bill?" I asked the bartender while offering a small smile which he returned "$1300." he responded.
I handed out my credit card to him after taking it out of my wallet that I had left on the bar table before I went off to the dance floor.
However, before he would take the card from my hands, a voice that sounded so much familiar spoke from behind me..."let me handle that," the husky voice of my boyfriend Tate, said making me suddenly feel chills travel down my entire spine.
It felt awkward to feel this way because I've never felt that way with him although I've been dating him for more than a year now.
"Hi, Tate," I giggled out when I turned and saw his face, but he wasn't smiling.
"How could my girlfriend be partying on her birthday without me," He complained into my ears.
The music from the dancefloor somehow doesn't really get to the bar, so I could hear him clearly.
I know he was probably angry right now but I know it wouldn't last for long because he couldn't stay angry at me for longer than a few seconds even if his life depends on it.
Tate was only twenty-three years old, but his father made him the CEO of his company so he was one of the youngest CEOs but he acts like he was older than he is most times.
"No, you can't handle that Tate it was my treat," I protested but he wasn't listening to me. He snatched my credit card from my hand and handed out his own to the bartender.
I let out a sigh because I knew there was no point in arguing, not after the bartender had already swiped his card in the card reader and started to process the payments.
Tate was a guy who you could say was almost every girl's dream, but I don't think he's mine.
He was the CEO of some fabric producing company, he was freaking rich although the money was mostly for his parents.
Tate was a gentleman and I love him dearly, however not the romantic kind of love, because most times I find myself wanting more adventure.
I find myself wishing for a relationship that was way out of this world but at times I feel contempt for the fact that I was loved by someone like him.
We've been dating for over a year now, but I've never once told him I loved him, even though he's said that to me numerous times now.
Each time he would tell me that he loves me, the only thing I would do was either to place a kiss on his lips or just smile and reply with a simple "I know you do."
I thought he would eventually get tired of the fact that I don't say it back and break up with me, but he didn't. The only thing he does instead was to always say it's okay if I don't feel the same way yet, he's willing to wait until I'm ready to say it back.
I feel bad for not telling him I love him even once, but I hated being lied to and I wasn't about to do to someone what I wouldn't like to be done to me, so I've never once said it to him since it would be a lie.
"I've been trying to reach you on the phone since 7 pm but you weren't picking up your calls," Tate complained after taking back his card from the bartender.
"Oh, Tate I'm sorry I didn't take out my phone from the car when we got here," I apologized for not picking his calls because I knew he had probably made some dinner reservations at some amazing restaurant and he would have had to cancel it because he couldn't get a hold of me.
I felt a little bit apologetic towards him, it must have been terrible to be stood up by me, and I was about to apologize again, but only until a thought occurred to me... How the... Did he know exactly where I was if he had been trying to call me and didn't get a hold of me?
"How did you know where to find me, Tate?" I asked him trying my best to hide the suspicion from my voice.
"Can we go outside, let's talk while we are outside shall we?" That was his only response and he started to pull me out of the club.
I looked back at the dance floor trying to look for Sia and Mackenzie to signal them we should go, but he was pulling me outside so quickly that I couldn't get the time to wave at them.
Once we were outside the club, he stopped pulling my hands and asked me to wait for a while and he left and went over to bring his car to the front of the club.
I was standing at the front of the club, and the temperature immediately went down a few degrees making chills run down my entire body, although it was still the middle of summer.
"Was I coming down with a fever?" I wondered out loud because that was the only reasonable explanation for how I was suddenly feeling chills all over my entire body.
Tate had brought him to the front and got out of it, to hold the door open for me, but I couldn't leave without Sia and Mackenzie because they both came in my car, and I was about to go tell him that, but before I would move, someone forcefully shoved me from behind.
