Chapter 5 - five

Pearl's POV

I felt someone forcefully shove me from behind, and I would have fallen right onto my face if not for the fact that Tate caught me before I hit the ground, I'm sure I would have been missing a damn tooth right now.

"What the fuck?" I turned to glare at the person who almost made me lose my tooth, my mouth opened and ready to yell a few other obscenities at the person, but I was face to face with a drunk Sia.

"Girl you wanted to leave us behind didn't you?" She said sloppily drawing her words out.

"Sia!," I scolded with a slight frown on my face.

I know she was drunk but that shouldn't have given her the right to shove anyone around that was rude.

"Sorry, sorry, " she giggled completely drunk and I only sighed.

Sia was a bad drunk and I know that, so I couldn't stay mad at her for long, because I know she would never do that while she was completely sober.

"Hi, Tate, you're here to party?" She waved her two hands at Tate who was still holding me from stopping me from falling.

"Sia you're drunk, let's get you home shall we," I said and left Tate to go hold her and take her back to where my car was parked.

I helped her get in the back seat and then closed the door before going back to go find Mackenzie.

Mackenzie isn't as bad as Sia when she was drunk so I knew I wouldn't have to battle with getting her to the car as I did with Sia.

"Tate I'm so sorry, I can't leave them behind," I turned and apologized to him with a small smile and I saw him quickly put something in his pocket.

"That's okay are you going to leave right now?" He asked.

"Yeah, right after I get Mackenzie, we all came in my car so I have to drop them home before going back to my apartment," I explained sounding a little apologetic.

I know he only wanted to spend some time with me, but I was not giving him the attention he deserves.

"How about this then, I would cancel every plan I have on Friday night just so I'll spend the whole night with you?" I offered, hoping it would make up for always being too busy to meet up with him...

"You promise right?" He asked after he had was quiet for a while and appeared to have been thinking on my offer and I smiled at him and placed a soft kiss on his lips before turning to go back into the club, but before I would leave he pulled me back in and kissed me like it was the last time he would be doing that.

The kiss lasted for quite a while and although I was taken aback at first, I began to relax into him, but then it ended.

"You make tequila, taste so good Pearl, happy birthday!" He said into my neck, his husky voice sounding exceptionally low.

I was grinning from ear to ear like some toddler who just received their favourite toy as a gift.

This was one of the reasons why I wanted to stay with Tate even though I wasn't sure if I loved him or not.

Tate could make any girl feel like a freaking princess with his cheesy acts of sweetness and all so I was a little determined to keep this going.

"I'll call you when I'm home," I said quickly before hurrying back into the club to get Mackenzie before Sia would try coming out of the car.

I found Mackenzie at the dance floor still dancing when I got there and I went over and I had to practically drag her from where she was grinding against some random guy at the club.

"Hey, we need to go!" I yelled at the top of my lungs for the umpteenth time while dragging her arm before she came with me.

I tried to scan through the crowd for my other co-workers and I could only see Sam who was seated at the bar and I quickly waved at him before we went out the door.

We got into my car and I checked the time on my car's dashboard and saw that it was already midnight and I thought about taking both of them back to their apartment which was in an opposite air direction before coming back to my own, and I knew that would probably take a while and I might end up returning home when it's 2 am or so.

So I drove us over to my apartment instead. They've crashed at my place before, so it shouldn't be a problem all though I know they might have to look for what to wear to the office unless they actually wake up very early and go home to get changed but I know that was likely not going to be the case.

Mackenzie was asleep in the passenger seat at the front of the car, while Sia slept at the back seat when I arrived at my apartment and I had to go through the trouble of waking them up before we went up using the elevator.

I lived on the fifth floor of the apartment suite which was the floor before the penthouse.

I had to drag Sia because she was still half asleep, but Makenzie was awake although she was walking in a zig zag manner and would bump into random things every once in a while.

We walked into my apartment after I unlocked the door, and the light automatically turned on.

I helped Sia get on the sofa and helped her removed her shoes, and unbuttoned her shirt before going into my room to take off my own clothes.

Mackenzie had taken off her clothes also and was lying on the other sofa by the time I walked back into the living room and I watched the both of them with a wide grin on my face.

"This is one hell of a birthday party!" I exclaimed before going back into my room to lay down.
