Chapter 20 - A Lonely Flower Plays A Game

After dinner, I invited Draken into the room I was staying, so we could talk.

I sat on the bed while he sat on the floor in front of me.

"We're here. So, what did you want to say?"

"Do you have a crush on me?" I asked him seriously.

"Where is this coming from?" He seemed confused.

"I heard it from your fans. I just need confirmation."

"Oh, that's a misunderstanding. You know how fans like to ship each other." He laughed awkwardly.

"Well, I think we need to redefine our relationship."

"What?" He had a dumbfounded expression on his face.

"I mean! We've never really clarified what we were. We were just going with the flow and there were so many ups and downs that normal relationships don't have, so I think we should start over."

"Start over?"

"No one officially asked the other to be friends and received a definite reply. So let's start over." He still had a confused expression, so I continued, "Draken Collins, would you like to officially be my first non-business friend?"

"Of course. Who wouldn't want to be friends with you." His words were sweet, but his tone was odd.

However, I chose to ignore it. "Great! Now, what exactly do non-business friends do?"

"Umm, well, everything we've done before now?"

"Hmm, that doesn't answer my question, but I guess I'll learn as time goes on."

"Out of curiosity, what would have happened if I said I did have a crush on you?" He suddenly asked.

"I would have suggested we try dating, but I would have been even more inexperienced in that case." I laughed.

"Great." His laugh sounded forced.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, seeing as he was acting strange.

"No, not at all. Why exactly did you decide to do this?" He totally changed the topic.

Too dumb enough to notice I answered his question. "Because I realized that I have grown attached to you. I wanted us to really get to know each other, and this is the resolution I found. Also, you saw me crying and acting like a baby. It's either this or I kill you." I said while smiling brightly.

"Oh… Killing me was a joke, though, right?"

"Partially. But you need to leave now, I want to sleep." I started pushing him out.

"Wait, what do you mean by partially???"

"Goodnight!" I pushed him out and then locked the door.

The next day. Wednesday, at Draken's house.

"So… we need more content." The director said, resting his head on his hands with a serious expression on his face.

"Umm, we could–"

Ring. Ring.

Draken's phone suddenly rang, interrupting him. "Sorry guys, I have to take this. Be back soon."

"Rose any ideas?" The director asked while Draken was gone.

"Hmm… I don't watch reality TV, so I don't know what would be interesting."

"Sigh, we'll have footage if you two interact with each other, but we need something big that will keep viewers."

Draken came back with a troubled expression.

"What's wrong?" I asked because it felt like something a friend would do.

"Well, it was Fani." I rolled my eyes, that bastard still makes my blood boil. "He said the group wants to meet up to plan our next collab."

"Well, what did you say???" The director practically jumped out of his seat.

"I told them I'd have to consult you about it," Draken answered, a little taken aback by the director's response.

"Wonderful, there's our content!"

"Huh?" I was not on the same page.

"Well, the fans will go crazy seeing the behind-the-scenes of their favourite artists and with Rose there, it'll be perfect!"

"But Rose and Fani don't get along. And the others don't exactly like her right now either."

"I know!" The director seemed like an excited teenage girl.

"What about me? I don't want to see that bas– I mean, Fani, right now either."

"… Think about it, Rose. If you do this and don't fight with the others, won't people realize your true colours? If you can get along with Draken's friends, your popularity might even increase."

"Sigh, fine. I'll do it."

"Great! Draken tells them about the plans. We'll see about setting a time and date and informing you later. You two have fun resting today. I have a feeling his meet-up will give lots of juicy content." He skipped away.

"…well, I'm going to go shower. I'll see you later, Draken."

"Have a good shower."

"Mhm."

After my shower, I put on some comfy clothes and as I was about to check my social media, I received a call from Draken.

"Hey, can you come here?"

"Yes, but why?" I questioned.

"You'll see when you get here." Then he hung up. Can you believe that? He didn't even tell me where he was!

I wandered around looking for him until I eventually found him in front of his streaming set-up.

"What did you want?"

"I want to teach you to play this game?"

"What game?"

"The name doesn't matter. Just sit down and say hi to chat."

"What? Chat? You're streaming this?"

"Yeah! It'll be fun!"

"But why should I?" He made me sit in his unbelievably comfortable chair.

"Because it's something friends do." He took off his headphones and put them on my head.

"Friends do this? Have you done this with your friends?"

"Yeah, all the time."

"Well then, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try."

(A/n: If this information is inaccurate or annoys anyone, I'm sorry. I've never played this game either, I just thought it would be a cute scene. Debated removing it, but if you're reading this, then I guess I decided not to.)

"You use these buttons like this…" He gave me basic instructions on how to play a video game because I have never played one before and was completely clueless. He then taught me a few basics of the game.

"See, this round you're an attacker. Your aim is to place the bomb on the bomb site. If you see enemies, you kill them."

"Okay."

"Raise your crosshair a bit. Enemy on your left."

I did as I was told, but still died. "Hmph. This is dumb."

"No, keep trying! You'll be a pro in no time."

"Ah! What is that?!"

"That's a wall. It doesn't do anything but block you."

"Oh."

There was a guy in front of me, so started shooting and actually managed to kill him. "I killed one!" Then I got shot by their teammate. "Oh, boo."

"Have you ever played an fps before?" A girl's voice asked.

"What was that???"

"Oh, they finally decided to talk. The people in your game can talk to you. If you talk to them, pretend I'm not here."

"No, I've never played any game before. My friend taught me the basics, and now I'm practising." I replied.

"I see, Then I'll give you tips as we play."

"Great! Thank you."

The game with that girl was nice, and I actually improved quite a bit. Not to brag, but we also won, sure she may have carried the entire team, but still.

The next game was well…

"Plant the bomb!" A guy repeatedly yelled at me.

"Stop yelling at me!" I said while I planted the bomb, but I ended up getting shot before I finished.

"Of course, she's a girl." The guy sounded annoyed.

"Why don't you go back to the kitchen?" Another guy added.

"Excuse me? Why would I go to the kitchen?"

"Because that's where you belong, you dumb whore." The first guy replied.

"Whoa! Why are we name-calling? So rude." I said, struggling to remain calm.

"This is the internet. Not everyone is kind, dear. Welcome to the real world where not every man treats you like gold just cause you *censored by the author, but please, feel free to be imaginative and think of what he might have said.*"

"I know better than anyone else that not everyone is nice, but you don't have to take the fact that you have no bitches out on me."

"This is why I hate women. They assume that I'm single when I call them out. Can you be any less original? And stop trying to act cool, it's not cute."

He muted me, "Rose."

"What? Did I say something wrong?"

"No, never mind," He unmuted me.

"Many people dislike me. You and your little buddy saying you hate me doesn't hurt my feelings as much as me calling you bitchless hurt yours. And I'm not assuming, there is no way either of you could even get a random starving dog on the street to like you with personalities like those."

"You kiss your mother with that mouth? I bet no man wants your ugly ass." The second guy commented.

"One, you're not one to talk. Two, so many incorrect statements. My mom's dead, plenty of men want me which is disgusting and paedophilic, and I wish they'd all simultaneously jump off a cliff instead of sending unsolicited pictures of their microscopic 'tools'. And I'm not ugly, I wouldn't be a celebrity if I was ugly. But seeing as you brought up ugly, I bet you accidentally uttered those words because you caught a glimpse of your reflection. Now, if you excuse me, I have better things to do with my time than play a game with someone who lacks common decency." I muted my mic and gave the computer to Draken.

He carried the game, and after he won, he closed the game. "I think that's enough gaming for now. Rose, you can go. I'll continue the stream."
