"The people want to know. What is your favourite flower?" She asked.
A question I dread.
What do you think of when you hear the word "Flower"?
Beauty?
Grace?
Perfection?
A sight that brings Hope?
A sight that brings Joy?
Well to me the word flower itself is a prison. A prison I can't seem to escape from. Remember all those lovely thoughts you had answering my question? Take them, step on them, chop them up, toss them in a bin and burn them. Your result is what I think.
The complete opposite of what you thought. That's what I think. So, knowing this, how could I possibly have a favourite flower. But if I said that, I wouldn't be perfect. I wouldn't be Gardenia's Brightest Flower.
But I want to be honest, so I'll think about the consequences later, "Ha-ha. Ironically... I don't like flowers."
"What?" The interviewer seemed shocked. "You heard it here first, folks! Rose Fleur, Gardenia's brightest flower, doesn't like flowers!"
I answered the rest of the questions, and then the interview ended.
While leaving, my elder sister confronted me, "What the hell was that?"
"What?"
"You don't like flowers!? How could the person with the nickname The Brightest Flower, whose name is Rose Flower, not like flowers!?" She was upset.
But I still wanted to be honest, "It's only the truth."
"How many times do I have to tell you? You are famous! People don't care about the truth. They want to hear what is expected of you!" She scolded me.
"Yeah... My thoughts and ideas... don't matter."
"Exactly! You should have just said roses as we practised."
"What's done is done." I wanted to end the conversation as soon as possible.
"Right, but it won't happen again."
When I finally got into the private jet, I began searching online for what people are saying.
Silvia52: What kind of sicko doesn't like flowers?
Tarra92: Don't be mean to Miss Fleur! I hated her because she looked at the flowers I was gifting her with disgust and never even had the decency to collect them herself. But now I know why! She must really hate flowers! She's usually super nice, so I found it strange. It so much more sense!"
'A nice-ish comment... if you ignore the replies. I'll stop there. It's 2 am. I need to sleep.' I closed my eyes and drifted off into the wonderful land of dreams.
When I opened my eyes again, I was in a car at the gate of my school. My sister immediately started talking when she realized I was awake, "Don't cause any trouble at school and DON'T injure your body. It's not just your body anymore. It belongs to all of your fans."
"Okay." I agreed, then left.
There were no students in the halls. Because I was late. There were no teachers around. Because I was late. There was no loud chatter. Because I was late.
'Wow. The school is really empty... I must be early!' I took my time making my way to class, thinking I was early.
As soon as I opened the door, Miss Pims's cruel voice infiltrated my ears, "Look who finally decided to show up for class. Gardenia's Brightest Flower!"
Everyone was staring at me, while I had the look of deer in headlights. 'You mean to tell I wasn't early!? And not only that, I was late!?'
"What? Was your private jet not fast enough? Or did you sleep in after that ridiculous farce you call an interview?" She continued.
Everyone laughed.
I ignored the teacher and went to my seat.
As Ms. Pims began her lesson, a boy with bright red, obviously dyed, hair walked in.
"Oh my!" She was frightened by his sudden presence.
"Sorry, I'm late, I had a photo shoot in the early morning and barely had any sleep."
'So he's a celebrity too? A model? Anyway, sorry to break it to you Hun, this teacher couldn't care less, and your hair isn't helping. You could be dying, and she'd still expect you to be on time. And she absolutely hates dyed hair.'
"Oh no! That's completely fine! You, celebrities are really busy, I understand."
"!" I stared in stock. 'What. Am. I. Witnessing?'
"Everyone, this is Draken Collins."
"Is there anyone who doesn't know who he is!? He's the new hottest sensation, Draco!" Emily, the class rumour mill, exclaimed.
"Please feel free to sit anywhere. I'm sure anyone would be willing to give up their seat." Miss Pims stated.
'What's with this reaction? Everyone is so... Nice. They look happy... What? Are these my tears? No. I can't cry. I'm not jealous.' I quickly and subtly wiped my tears.
"This seat is empty, I'll just sit here." He stated after walking over to the empty seat next to me.
"!" To say the least, I was surprised. No one sat there because they didn't want to be that close to me.
"That's! Umm... How about you sit closer to the front?" Miss Pims tried to convince him not to sit there.
"My eyes are good. I'll sit here." He sat.
"Are you sure?" She seemed worried for some reason.
"Yup." He nodded.
"Okay... Well, to celebrate our new student, let's cancel class for today. Have a free session." She announced.
He complimented me while everyone was cheering, "Your hair is gorgeous."
"!" Again, I was shocked. "T-thank you."
"Draco! Why'd you move to our school?" Emily immediately drew his attention away from me.
"I heard rumours about it." He replied.
Within seconds, he was surrounded not only by all the girls, but also by most of the guys.
"I hope they were good rumours!" A girl said with a smile.
"They were fantastic rumours." He smiled brightly.
"Yay!" The girls squealed.
"I'm so nervous. I've never been this close to a celebrity." Emily commented.
'What do you mean? You tried pulling off my hair because you thought it was a wig.' I rolled my eyes.
"What are you talking about?" He had a confused expression on his face.
"We've never had a celebrity classmate before!" Emily explained. Everyone agreed.
"But Rosie is right here." He pointed at me.
'He knows who I am? I haven't heard someone call me Rosie in a long time. It is... nice.'
Everyone went silent.
"She doesn't count," Emily answered.
"Yeah, she's not like a celebrity at all." Someone added.
"She's completely fake." Another added.
"Stop." Draken slammed his hands onto his desk, and then stood up.
"!!!" Everyone including me was shocked.
"Not only are you being rude, but you are also doing it right in front of her face. You do realize she can hear you?" He asked.
"So? It's only the truth." Ryan answered.
Draken seemed upset.
Out of the kindness in my heart, I decided to help Draken, "Don't bother. No one here likes me."
"That's right. So leave." Emily scoffed.
"Okay." I got up and walked out of the classroom, ignoring Miss Pims' protests, knowing full well she only wanted to avoid trouble with the principal.
"..." Draken had a complicated expression when I left... One I have never seen before.
I got scolded by the principal shortly after leaving.
"Do you think being famous gives you a pass to idle in the halls!?"
"I apologize. It was completely my fault."
"Sigh. Why can't you be more humble, like Draken?"
'That guy again... Why is everyone so...nice... to him?' Then a realization dawned on me. 'Do they only hate me? It was never that they hated celebrities, it was just that they hated me. If I change, will treat me like they do him? I must find out!'
