Chapter 6 - A Lonely Flower Snaps

Ten minutes of useless banter passed.

"It's been ten minutes how have you not moved???" He questioned.

"You have to sit still in interviews or else people will judge you or make assumptions... Or maybe that's just me." I explained.

"That's horrible. Maybe I shouldn't become famous after all." He joked.

The car came to a sudden stop. I would have gone flying if I hadn't fastened my seatbelt.

"That's reckless you could have caused an accident," I complained. If I got hurt sister would only blame me.

"Get out." He ordered.

"Okay," I replied.

"Don't," Draken ordered after seeing me unfasten my seatbelt. "It was a joke, Leonard."

I fastened my seatbelt once more.

"That... Girl. Is a bad influence on you! I refuse to drive any further with her in my car!"

Cars behind us started to get impatient and honked their horns furiously.

"I'm getting a headache. Can we walk?" I asked.

"...We can. Let's go."

"What!? No! Don't go with her!!!" The assistant yelled.

Draken ignored his assistant and existed the vehicle then helped me exist. After that, he led the way holding my hand as I followed behind.

It was oddly a nice feeling having someone care about me and my feelings.

His grip was tight. It was because he was angry... On my behalf. I can never forget that moment, and how I felt. I wanted to cry not because I was sad. I wanted to cry because of this overwhelming feeling of what I can only describe as joy swelling in my heart. It was great.

We stopped.

He let go of my hand.

And with his head hung low he apologised, genuinely then said, "Please don't cry."

It seems he thought I wanted to cry because of how I was treated. He thought I wanted to cry because of his rude assistant.

"I'm not crying though," I replied with my brightest smile.

"Your ears, nose and cheeks are all pink and your eyes are moist. Are you telling me these aren't clear signs that you are about to cry?"

"How would you know?" I pouted knowing full well he was right.

"Have I not told you? I am undoubtedly your biggest fan. I can't list all the things I do and know without sounding like a creep so I won't."

"Maybe that is because you are a creep?" I teased.

"Do you think I'm a creep?" He asked with a frown.

"Not right now, no. I replied.

"I know when you want to cry because I watched movies that you've cried in."

"What if it was fake? You know makeup and eye drops?" I asked.

"You did an interview when you were even talking about and showing how you cry on command."

"You really are a super fan. I do not even remember that interview." I stated.

"Anyway if this conversation continues I'm really going to sound like a creep." Draken laughed awkwardly.

"Right— Sunflower Cafe!" I immediately noticed the cafe.

"We're here." Draken smiled.

"We took a different way than I'm used to," I commented.

"That was on purpose."

"Today is what day again?"

"Monday."

"Oh..." My favourite dessert, Strawberry and basil ice-cream cake with meringue and pink peppercorns, is never served on Mondays at Sunflower Cafe. To say I was disappointed was an understatement I was devastated but I think I hid it well.

Draken smiled brightly, "Let's go."

He got us a nice table. It was a large round table suited for twelve. It had a white table cloth draped beautifully over it and matching white chairs. The table was also organised carefully making it all the more gorgeous. This was without a doubt my favourite cafe.

We ordered our food.

"Umm... I'm gonna go to the... Bathroom! Be back soon!"

'Okay? That's weird.'

"Forgot my bag!"

'...Do you need to bring a bag to the bathroom? Then again I don't know what normal people do.'

Just then I noticed someone sitting at a table across the room.

It was Emily.

She was sitting with a group of people and one of them stuck out like a sore thumb. It was a guy who had silver coloured hair.

While staring at Emily and her group a pair of green eyes suddenly met mine.

She smirked, flipped her shiny blonde hair then began talking to her group. You may have guessed by now but that's Emily.

A couple of seconds pass and the group started heading over.

"Are you from Angelwood High Like our little friend here?" One of the guy's ask.

"I am," I replied.

"Cool! As you can see by our uniforms we're from Savannah University." He continued.

"Never heard of it."

"What?" He seemed clearly shocked.

"I have never heard of a school called Savannah University."

"Maybe it's 'cause you're too used to the country. Are you new?"

"Come on! Don't you know you're talking to??? This is Gardenia's Brightest Flower, Rose Fleur, in all her gracious beauty. She's a celebrity that's been everywhere!"

'That's a lie. Sure I travel a lot but I rarely know where I'm going and I never get time to do anything aside from work.'

"Are you listening to me?"

"No. I was lost in thought." I was honest.

"What a brat!"

"At least she's honest!"

"Why are you here?" Emily asked.

"This is a public space," I replied. "Why are you at my table?"

"I don't see your name on it." The silver-haired guy replied. "Besides. That's no way to talk to friends."

"You are not my friends." I corrected.

"Oh! Quite bold of you to say those words in public I can make you out to be the bad guy. You already have so many haters... What's a few more?" Emily mocked.

"What the hell do you want!?" I was annoyed.

"I get that you're annoyed but please keep your voice down there's no need to disturb others." The silver-haired guy lectured.

"What do you want from me?" I reached.

"As friends, we'd like to have lunch with you!" They sat down ordered food and began eating and chatting.

"You wouldn't mind paying for us right?" Emily asked after they were finished. Also, are they even humans? Eating so much in a matter of minutes?

Everything they ordered was expensive. "I do not have that kind of money."

"Don't lie." Emily frowned.

"I am not lying. It is the truth. I do not have any money on me right now." It took everything to be that nice.

"Are you being serious right now???" Emily asked.

"I am," I replied.

"Too bad. We aren't paying." She smirked.

I glared at them but sucked it up. They ordered more food ate, laughed and talked. Emily pretended to be my friend. I counted the seconds. I prayed that Draken would hurry up and be by my side. I knew these people didn't care about me but being with Draken felt different.

"Did you seduce Draken?"

I blinked a couple of times. Was this grey haired jerk talking to me? Obviously not, so I ignored him.

"Rosie that's rude! Vasuki was speaking to you!" Emily scolded.

'What kind of name is Vasuki? Not that Draken or Draco are any better, they mean Dragon, I think. Vasuki means King of serpents, right? Probably suits him.'

"Rosie!" Emily yelled.

"My name is Rose." I corrected.

"Haha. But Draco calls you Rosie. So I'll do it too."

"And who permitted you? Not me so do not let my previous nickname leave your nasty lips. I replied. "Besides. He was rude first. It's only polite to at least try to get to know someone before making assumptions."

He squinted his big grey eyes at me. It looked like he was a predator looking at helpless prey he plans to play with. "The name's Fani Reigns."

"Rose Fleur."

"You and Draken came here together?"

"We did."

"How did you manage that?"

"What do you mean?"

"Draken doesn't like girls. Or people in general. He'll put up with them but he'll never go out of his way to go somewhere with them alone."

"Either way it's none of your business."

"Ooooo this is getting spicy." I think Emily said that.

"Oh, it is my business. Miss Flower. Are you trying to seduce him to fix your broken reputation?"

That pissed me off.

I slammed the table as I sprung up.

"Want to try saying that again? This time to my face."

He stood up. "I think you're using my friend to fix your reputation! Was killing your parents not enough!? You got the sympathy of the world when they died! Don't you find that suspicious?" The room was dead silent.

"Are you saying that... I killed my parents!?"

"They were fools anyway. I mean imagine being killed by a child! Ha! I won't let you kill my friend though... you pathetic little bit—"

The loud sound for my palm connecting to his face echoed throughout the building.

He was crouched over while holding his cheek.

I looked down at him frowning. I felt like I was looking at a pile of trash.

That frown slowly turned into a smile. Before I knew it I was laughing.

"For a minute there I forgot who I was. I'm Rose Fleur. Gardenia's brightest flower. The most loved and hated celebrity EVER. I won't pretend to like you people because I am Rose Fleur. You all should be begging me to even be in your presence. And if you plan to spew garbage... Be ready for a fight."

"And you. You have no right to tell me what and what not to do. I mean look at us. You are just a pathetic pile of GARBAGE. Who gave you the right to speak to someone like me. I am out of your league. And Emily, sweetheart, I do NOT know you. Do NOT act like we're friends. Pay for your own meals or are you too poor to afford it? I couldn't care less about garbage parasitic commoners like you and your pathic friends." I turned to leave accidentally knocking over a white box Draken was carrying. I paused for a second. But I had just made a scene. I couldn't stay any longer. People would start taking pictures and videos soon.

So I ran.

But Draken ran after me.

"Rosie!"

"...Yes."

"Are you crying?"

"What!? No!"

"You're lying."

Without thinking I hit his hand away. There's no going back now. "I don't want to be your friend."

"What?" He seemed confused.

"I'm too good for you. I'm rich. I'm drop dead gorgeous. I have the most amazing personality EVER. And I do not go to shabby plebeian shacks!!!" I yelled at him.

He looked at me then turned around and stomped off.

'It worked? ...It...worked...' Tears started pouring out before I had a chance to control them. 'Losing a friend is a lot harder than I thought it would be.'

I ran to the nearby park and cried my eyes out on the swings.

I don't even know how much time passed.

It was a blur.

I called my sister, told her to pick me up and hung up before she had a chance to ask any questions.
