That same night Edgar's body was taken to Terania castle in a horse-drawn carriage. Rowena decides to bury Edgar's body in a flower garden in Terania castle because the kingdom already belongs to her.
Edgar's impromptu funeral was attended by only Rowena, Sir Cedric, Sir Damian and Prince Helios. At first Helios thought that Rowena would cry even harder than when she had just met Edgar. In fact, she didn't shed any tears at all.
Rowena just kept staring at Edgar's meal with a sad look. After the funeral procession was over, Rowena returned to her room. She did not change his mourning clothes at all and immediately lay down all over his body on his bed. Even though she should have cried in a situation like this, but her tears couldn't come out at all.
A knock on the door broke his thoughts. A man wearing all black entered Rowena's room. The man was Prince Helios who was worried about Rowena's condition and decided to check on her. He walked over to Rowena's bed and sat there.
"Are you all right, Rowena?" asked Prince Helios with a facial expression that showed that he was very worried about his knight's condition.
Rowena turned around and looked at Prince Helios who was sitting beside her who was still lying down. "Do you think I'm fine, Your Majesty?"
"I don't know, I don't know either. You're the only human I can't predict. And at the funeral, I thought you would cry like when you found out your father was dead. You didn't shed a single tear at all."
"To be honest earlier and now, I really wanted to shed as many tears as possible. Unfortunately for some reason I couldn't cry. Maybe because I had already predicted about my father's death and also..."
"And also what?" asked Prince Helios.
"And also my father died peacefully in a body that is still intact. Therefore at least I should be grateful because his death is not tragic," answered Rowena.
Prince Helios spread his arms wide. "Do you want me to hug you?"
"Huh, what?" said Rowena who felt that her ears had misunderstood what Prince Helios was saying.
"Back when I was little, every time I felt sad my mother would hug me. She said hugging can at least reduce your sadness," explained Prince Helios.
Rowena got up and sat right next to Prince Helios. Then she put her head on Helios' chest and her hands wrapped around the man's body. Helios smiled a little as he gently patted Rowena's back.
Helios could feel the warmth of Rowena's body. During the hug with Rowena, Helios's heart kept beating fast. Suddenly Rowena burst into tears at that very moment. Prince Helios was overwhelmed because he had to calm himself down.
"I really hate death. Sometimes I wonder why I always get directly involved with death. Even though I just want to live well, have a harmonious family, and live happily ever after. Why is that so difficult for me to realize?" Rowena complained as she wept.
Prince Helios stroked Rowena's hair gently. "Sometimes life doesn't go the way we dream. But that's not the end of everything. The important thing is that you've become a great person even though it's not according to your dreams. For me you are now very cool. In fact you always fascinate me every time."
"Ever since we met on that day, I've always considered you as my most precious treasure," continued Prince Helios with both cheeks already flushed red.
There was no reply or reply from Rowena. Prince Helios let go of his arms and saw Rowena's face. Turns out she was asleep. Looks like she didn't listen to Helios' words just now because she was fast asleep. Helios lifted Rowena to her bed.
Helios smoothed Rowena's messy hair. He kept looking at Rowena's sleeping face. This was the first time he had seen her face up close. His heart was beating faster. He brought his face closer to Rowena's. For some reason, seeing her sleeping made him want to kiss her just once.
Just as Helios's lips were about to hit Rowena's, Sir Damian suddenly opened the door of the room. Prince Helios quickly got up from the bed. His cheeks were still red and his earlobes were red too.
"What are you doing here, Damian?" asked Prince Helios in a resentful tone. It seemed he was annoyed that Damian ruined the moment.
"I just wanted to make sure Rowena was doing well. I was really worried to see her like that. It would be better if she cried than being expressionless like that," replied Sir Damian.
"Never mind, we'd better get out of here. She's also fast asleep after all. Let him rest and calm her soul for a while. After things get better we will return to Valeccio's palace and plan a strategy to conquer the other kingdoms," said the Prince Helios while pulling Sir Damian out of Rowena's room.
Even though she had left Rowena's room, her heart was still beating fast. What actually happened to him? After thinking for a few minutes he realized, is he now in love with Rowena? If he remembers the symptoms he felt were very similar to those written in one of the books he had read while still at Sunverro's palace.
His heart beat wildly when he was with Rowena. He always missed her when separated from him for a while. He also felt jealous when he saw Cedric looking at Rowena with loving eyes. Wait a minute... Doesn't that mean now he's in a love triangle between himself, Rowena, and Cedric?
Thinking about this was more dizzying than thinking about war strategy. Helios just realized that anything related to love is very complicated. Though he should not be allowed to feel the thing called love because he is a crown prince, who will marry a woman who will benefit his position when he becomes emperor, not with the woman he loves.
Unfortunately he was too late. He is now entangled in the thing called love. All he could do now was hide his feelings and wish Rowena happiness. He also didn't want to see Rowena shed another tear because it made her very congested.
He must as soon as possible forget this feeling that should not grow. Because after this war was over and he returned to Sunverro, surely the nobles would immediately offer their daughters to him for marriage.
