Chapter 1 - Chapter 1- Meeting The Young Alby

It was a rainy and miserable winters night, the smell of candle wax was drifting in the air, the light from the candles were flickering around the room.

"Aaaaaahhhh huughhh!"

A woman's voice screeched through the night, the shadow struggling in pain, flickering candle lights made a dark silhouette on the cold brick wall, the sounds of the wind hammering on the glass, the window frames smashing into each other.

"Haaaaaahh huh huh huh!"

15 Years Later-

Springtime has arrived, the sounds of people chatting and shouting spread far and wide, trees and flowers made everything colourful, the sounds of birds made the town peaceful.

In a town full of people, stalls dotted around, the sounds of people of all ages walking around, dressed in all types, from the patrolling knights in shining armour to your average villager dressed in just dirty cloth.

we start with a fifteen-year-old boy, who looks just a little more than average, unknown to him, he will soon learn that the place where he lives will become bigger, the world is vast with many mountains, dungeons, camps, creatures and horror-filled places.

"Oi you little shit, get back here!"

Knights shouted from the distance, their armour clanking on themselves, the sound of the dirt scraping on the bottom of their sabatons as the knights ran, their armours banner flapping aggressively in the wind.

"Hahaha, is that all you've got? I thought the knights of Terendale were the best of the best and yet you're unable to capture a little peasant boy like me"

This cocky boy was Alby, his build was lean yet shyly wide for a 15-year-old, he was quick with his hands and his feet.

Alby's sense of direction was better than almost ninety per cent of Terendale's knight order, it was as if his comprehension ability and his natural talent were born into a soon to be prodigy of the sky.

The Kingdom of Terendale is fairly huge, the land is similar to a single county, scattered villages, a couple of towns here and there, the knight order of Terendale is the elite knights who only answer to the king himself.

King Aldaroth, the only King in history to be Titled a Death Knight, a person who has experienced countless deaths, put into deathly situations, covered in blood from head to toe, someone who is overwhelming with not only Magic but with swordsmanship and skills to keep himself, king, for over one hundred years.

"Ha ha ha, how did you old fogies get into the knight's order like this? you're already out of breath, anyway, while you get your walking stick to chase me I'll be off see ya slowpokes!"

Alby and the knights were in one of several forest areas around the kingdom, Galdaroth forest, Alby ran through the trees, climbed up and overall the large and medium-size rocks and boulders.

His speed as a standard civilian within the kingdom as compared to almost a very few people that protected the king.

"Huff Huff Huff, that cocky brat, one of these days I can see that little brat bumping into one of the higher-ups, then we shall see how cocky he can be then, fffuuu, we've been running for a while now, let's just go back and get a pint, that Innkeepers daughter should be working by now"

The two knights that were chasing after Alby could carry on chasing him, so they let him go, exhausted and battered, struggling to catch their breath for a little while, they stood up straight, tapped each other on the back, then up and left towards the direction of Galdaroths little Inn called Gildafre Keep.

A little bit of time passed, Alby had climbed up on top of the mountain ridge looking over Galdaroth Forest, where he could see the vast trees heading in all directions, as he reached the very top of the ridge Alby slumped onto the nearest rock covered in mould and vines from the overhang.

"Huh, how about that, in the midst of all these trees you can see the village, by the looks of it the smithy's open and working.

So this is my life, annoying the Knight order, I'm not of age yet so I can't exactly join them, I'm not of age to do anything yet either, how annoying theres not much I can do really."

"What would I choose anyway? I mean I'm fast but I'm not strong so being a warrior couldn't exactly be of any help to me, I can't sense magic either so being a Mage or a warlock is of no use to me either... I have no Holy powers so being a priest is also of no use, the only thing I could be is an assassin or a hunter I have no idea what to do."

The world where Alby lives is full of mysterious and wonderful places, where people and other races come together to commute, be diverse and learn.

In this world, there are what you would call "Classes",

Warrior, a class-based around pure strength, mental fortitude and some Major damage.

Mage, a class for those with basic magic and natural talent to mana.

Warlock, a class for those with a slightly sadistic personality, Polymorph is their main speciality.

Priest, For those who are "gods" children, blessed with divine ability.

Paladin, High ranking Holy Tanker, is blessed with divine judgment and some healing abilities.

Hunter, for those who want to work more or less as a mercenary, wields a bow and daggers with some natural talent towards nature, able to communicate with animals.

Assassin, a class for those who wish to headhunt secretly, the keep to the shadows, they're mostly like a secret class.

Alby looked into the distance as the sun began to go down, the birds chirping in the background as if it was a slow melody, the wind blew as he was up high looking down on the village in the distance, the sound of the grass blowing, leaves rustling made it a calm and peaceful place to stay and gather your thoughts.

"Hmm I've got a year left until I'm of age, I'd love to see the rest of the world, I wonder what will happen in the next year..."

Silence fell over Alby as he began to think about what might happen if he sticks to what he's doing.

"Oh well no need to ponder over it after all I've got alot of time to think before I make my decision, time to go home, I've been here for a while now time see mum and dad, I'm rather hungry now so let's see if theres food to catch for on the way."

Sometime Later,

A nightly breeze scampered through-out a small village just east of Terendale's gates, brightly lit torches scattered through the dirt path of the village, the entrance to the village was wooden, large wooden stakes stook out the ground becoming a wall to protect the village from danger.

Alby walked through the brightly lit village, calmed dirt being scruffed up into the air as he walked, the sounds of crickets around him as they galavanted across long strands of grass, the village huts straw roofs fluttered in the gentle breeze softly.

Alby arrived at a His home, it wasn't anything spectacular the creeking of footsteps roamed across the floor boards on the outside, a light peeked from under the door, the sound of a large waterfall from behind his house always seemed to calm him before heading inside.

"I'm home father, I'm home mother, I've brought back food that should last us a couple of days, sorry it's nothing much but it's something."

Alby had been hunting for rabbits before he headed home, he grabbed the ears of the dead rabbits that was hanging from his belt, the blood had made a small stain on the padded cloth that covered his bottom half, he slapped the rabbits on the croaky wooden table that was held together by sticks and string.

"No worries little man, aslong as you're not hurt anywhere then it's fine, your mother is at the waterfall outback, shes catching fish for tonight aswell as we didn't know if you was bringing us anything."

Lucas, Albys dad was a protective and dotting farther, tried his best to give Alby everything he could.

Lucas was made with mystery no-one actually knew who he was, he was very secretive.

"Mother, are you out here? Do you need a hand, I've brought rabbit for dinner"

Alby walked outside, he saw a dark figure stand in the middle of a big pond with the water fall in the background, the moonlight twinkled in the ripples of the reflect water, splashes appeared here and there as fish jumped into the air, specks of water followed the fish out of the water.

"Haah, got you, you squirmy little snivlle, you'll make for a great fest with the rest of your comrades, hmmm time to fill my stomach and wait for my little Alby bear to come back home!"

Alby's mum, Kiyah, a top rated solo hunter that kept to herself and her family, was catching fish ready for a meal.

"Hey mother, I see you've caught quite a few already, I think thats enough though as I've brought home rabbit."

Alby stared upon a bamboo basket with fish piled high over flowing from out of the basket, some of the fish still flapping on land, Albys face lowered as he saw all the fish knowing he wouldn't be able to eat all of that.

"Ha? My Alby bear is back! Aaahh my son, come to mother, I've missed you, what have you done all day?"

Alby spoke to his mother and told her the days events as they passed in order, night grew colder, most of the village torches had gone out, the water became calm.

"So that's what you've done, well my son, honestly, no matter what me and your father will always support you, come on it's getting late lets head in get food and get a good night sleep."

The night grew darker, the lights in Albys hut eventually went out, silence fell over the village, owls could be heard in the night time sky, drops of rain began to fall from the sky gently landing with a splatter on the floor, it was a quick pass of rain, the day ended with Albys words as he said goodnight to his parents.

"Night Mother, Night Farther"
