Perros and Nazo were surrounded by the guards of the yet unnamed kidnappers' boss.
They both knew they were in a difficult situation. The "raid" wasn't as easy as they thought.
"FIRE...." The boss shouted, but Perros cut him off.
"WAIT!" Perros shouted.
The guards, who were ready to shoot, stopped. The boss looked at Perros.
"What?" The boss asked angrily.
"You know that's not enough to beat us, right?" Perros said fearlessly.
"WHAT?" The boss couldn't believe him.
"So you're telling me that you're going to beat those twelve guards and even me?" He added and laughed.
Perros and Nazo had each other's backs, but when he finished, they both moved closer to each other.
"I don't know about you, but I don't think we can leave here alive...." Nazo whispered to Perros.
"Don't worry... I still have a trick up my sleeve." Perros said.
"Even though I have my sleeves rolled up...." He added and chuckled.
"I hope it's something that gets us out of this situation." Nazo whispered.
Perros exhaled and smiled.
--Many years earlier--
In Harnsey saloon around noon. Perros was helping out in the salon as usual.
"Perros, do you want me to teach you something today?" Gerald asked, lighting his cigar.
"Why do you ask... of course I want to." Perros replied happily.
Gerald laughed.
"Darren, let Perros get his things, I'll take him out for a while." Gerald looked at Darren.
"Sigh... okay, but bring him back later. He's still got some work to do." Darren said and looked at Perros who was about to leave.
Perros smiled and ran home to get his gun, then returned.
"I wonder what he's going to teach me today..." He thought to himself.
When he returned, Gerald was waiting outside the salon.
"Are you ready?" Gerald asked, but he already knew the answer.
"Of course, I was born ready." Perros said excitedly.
"Alright then, let's go..." Gerald said and mounted his horse with Perros.
They went to a place near town where Gerald was practicing shooting with Perros.
It was a spot behind a rock, quiet and far enough from the town. They were shooting towards the rock to avoid unintentionally injuring potential passer-byers.
"What is it going to be today?" Perros asked excitedly.
"You can start by putting sticks with cans around you... in a circle, to be specific." Gerald said and lit a cigar.
"So a target shooting?" Perros asked, reaching for the cans.
"Not exactly, but you could call it that..." Gerald said and went for sticks.
When he returned with the sticks, they set up practice targets.
"So... what I'm about to show you is a little dangerous." Gerald said and walked to the center of the circle.
"Climb up on the rock, just a little higher from the ground. " He added.
Perros swiftly climbed up the rock and could see everything.
"What a beautiful view!" Perros looked around.
"Okay, so I call this technique the 'Death spin'." Gerald said and looked up to Perros.
"It had many versions, but this is the best." He added.
"You slowly turn around so you don't provoke your opponents, and count them." Gerald explained.
"Then when you know how many are around you, you spin as fast as you can and shoot." He added and did so.
Perros just saw bullets flying away from him. They hit every can.
"Wow, that was amazing..." Perros said in awe.
"With practice you will be able to do it too..." Gerald said, a little dizzy from spinning.
"I have to say that for multiple targets it's better to have more than one gun, but that's up to you." He added.
"Now come try it!" Gerald smiled and stepped out of the circle.
As swiftly as Perros climbed up, he climbed down. He took his gun and stepped into the circle.
"All right, turn around and count the opponents..." Perros said confidently.
"And then spin and shoot." He added and spun around.
Gerald couldn't believe his eyes, Perros hit half of the targets on his first attempt.
"Argh... One more time and I'll have them all!" Perros said determinedly.
He reloaded his gun and tried again.
"Turn around, count the opponents..." Perros said.
"Then spin and shoot!" He added and spun.
Just as he was about to spin, a flash went through his mind, just like the time the bandits raided Harnsey. Again, he could see the targets clearly, but he spun slowly and managed to hit them all.
"YES!" Perros exclaimed excitedly.
"Did you see that, I hit them all." He added, laughing happily.
Gerald looked at him, smiled and lit a cigar.
"So he's your child after all...." Gerald thought to himself.
--Present--
"Here we go." Perros said.
"Nazo, when I give the signal, jump as high as you can." He added.
"Alright..." Nazo said in confusion.
Perros looked around himself.
"Twelve opponents... two will remain." He thought to himself.
"Are you able to take out the last two guards?" Perros asked.
"Last two?" Nazo asked in confusion.
"Alright... NOW!" Perros shouted.
Nazo jumped as high as he could and Perros used the 'Death spin' technique. He hit as many of them as he had bullets. Once Nazo landed, he immediately lunged at one guard and then the other, leaving both unconscious.
"What was that?" Nazo asked in surprise.
"That was a technique Gerald thought me long ago." Perros smiled.
Then they both looked up at the kidnappers' boss. He looked terrified.
"W-WHAT DID YOU DO?" The boss asked in horror.
"Like I said..." Perros shouted.
"THEY WEREN'T ENOUGH!" He added, and together with Nazo he rushed to the stairs that led to the building at the top of the cogwheel.
"Aah!" The boss sounded and ran into the building.
"After him!" Perros shouted as they climbed the stairs.
It wasn't long before they reached the top of the staircase. They could see the whole capital before they entered the building, but there was no time for that.
"Let's go in..." Perros said.
"But we have to be careful, we don't know what's inside." Nazo looked at the building.
"Right..." Perros said and together they made their way into the building.
It didn't look very special from the inside. Several rooms in the corridor and at the end of the corridor were more stairs. The stairs were turning sideways and it was obvious that the second floor was following. Perros and Nazo quickly checked the rooms down the hall, but the boss wasn't there.
"He must be on the second floor." Nazo said.
Perros nodded his head in agreement and together they made their way upstairs once more.
But before they reached the upper floor, the main door suddenly burst open and more guards came in, this time without weapons.
"STOP!" The guard shouted.
Perros and Nazo looked at each other.
"Shall we deal with them before we continue?" Perros smiled.
"We can, otherwise they'd be in our way." Nazo scrunched his knuckles and looked at the guards.
Nazo went first, but Perros followed him. The fight was not as dangerous as before, however, they had to be careful.
"You take two, I'll take three." Nazo said and lunged at them with all his might.
"I won't argue..." Perros said and started to fight as well.
It didn't take them long to beat them. They both knew the guards were no match for them.
"Shall we continue?" Perros asked.
"Of course." Nazo said and brushed his shoulders.
And as he said, so they did. Perros and Nazo finally made it to the top floor of the building. There was only one door, nothing else.
"He must be inside." Perros said with seriousness in his voice.
"Let's go inside..." Nazo opened the door.
