The man who led the kidnappers was in their sights. After Perros and Nazo managed to defeat the guards, they followed the boss into the building atop of the giant cogwheel.
Perros and Nazo finally made it to the top floor of the building. There was only one door, nothing else.
"He must be inside." Perros said with seriousness in his voice.
"Let's go inside..." Nazo opened the door.
The door creaked as Nazo slowly opened them. Behind them was a quiet dark room with an overhead light shining on a chair with its back turned to them. Someone was sitting on it and smoking, it was the boss of the kidnappers.
"So you're finally here..." The boss spoke slowly.
"Of course we are... you've been watching us, you knew we were coming." Perros said in confusion.
"And what's with the light..." He added, flicking the switch.
All the lights in the room came on.
"I know what you want to ask..." The boss said, turning to them.
"Why we kidnapped your sister." He added while smoking.
Perros closed the door behind them. Nazo gave the boss an angry look, but he smiled.
"If you know what I want to ask... answer it then." Nazo said seriously.
The boss laughed. Then he looked at them.
"The reason we kidnapped your sister is simple... workforce." The boss said.
"And if she grew up to be a beautiful woman, she would become my wife." He added and laughed.
Nazo looked angrier than ever and slowly approached him. Perros leaned against the door and just watched.
"This is going to be interesting..." Perros thought to himself.
"And it wasn't just in your village, we do it all over the world, at least once every few years." The boss smirked.
As Nazo got closer and closer, his anger grew. It was obvious that the boss was afraid, he was breathing heavily, and beads of sweat were visible on his forehead.
Nazo stopped in front of the boss's desk and took a deep breath.
"So not only did you do it for such a stupid reason, but you do it in other villages..." Nazo was angry.
"Tell me... how far do you think I'll go?" He added.
"What does that..." The boss was cut off by Nazo who pulled him up by the shirt in the air.
Nazo looked at him, and threw him on the floor in front of the table.
"I've never killed anyone, but for you... I'd make an exception." Nazo gave him a deadly look.
"Eek..." The boss sounded scared.
"W-What do you even want?" The boss said in a shaky voice.
"Revenge." Nazo said coldly.
"I-I'll give you money, w-we have plenty." The boss replied in a shaky voice.
"I don't want your filthy money." Nazo said and was about to punch him.
"Wait... money would be good." Perros said and headed over to the boss who was lying on the floor.
"Where do you keep them?" Perros asked curiously and smiled.
The boss looked at Perros in horror.
"In the desk is the key to the safe in the wall behind the painting." The boss said and stood up.
"Good boy." Perros said and petted the boss.
The boss went behind the desk looked into it and indeed there was a key. He then headed to the painting on the wall, placed it on the floor, behind him was the safe.
Inside were several gold bricks.
"Sweet... So we'll take that." Perros smiled and took the gold.
"S-So, are you gonna let me go?" The boss asked, still terrified.
"No." Perros said and hit him with one of the gold bricks.
He fell unconscious. Perros sighed.
"For the head of such an organization, he's a pretty pathetic guy..." He said and looked at him.
"Did you intend to kill him?" Perros asked.
"No, he would have done that, and I'm not going to lower myself to his level." Nazo said and also looked at the boss.
"But he still needs punishment for what he did..." Nazo added.
"Right... but let's get him down first." Perros said and walked away with the gold.
"And I have to drag him away..." Nazo said gruffly and took him on his back.
There were no guards on the way down. Perros and Nazo thought it was suspicious, but they kept going anyway.
"Perros, I have to ask you something..." Nazo said.
"Huh?" Perros sounded.
"Even though you use a gun, you haven't killed anyone since we first met, why?" Nazo asked questioningly.
Perros smiled and looked up at the sky.
"Because I was raised that way..." Perros said.
"I don't want to kill, and if it happens someday, it'll just be a mistake... or because the person deserved it." He added and smiled.
"And you don't think this man deserves to be killed?" Nazo asked while they were still going down.
"No, if his boss was a good guy, he wouldn't have done it. So it's not his fault." Perros replied.
"But that's kind of a stupid statement...." Nazo was interrupted by Perros.
"Don't worry about it." Perros laughed.
Together they finally got down from the giant cogwheel. As before no guards were seen, but people were still working there.
"HEY! GO HOME!" Perros screamed at the top of his lungs.
"NO ONE IS HOLDING YOU HERE!" He added.
The people standing at the entrance beamed with happiness. They couldn't believe their ears. When they processed the message, they passed it on. The few guards that were left were beaten by the people. They all fled the mine. When people saw Perros and Nazo with the kidnappers' boss, they all rushed to them. As a crowd, they took them and celebrated by throwing them into the air several times.
"Enough of this miserable work!" Perros said.
"Go back to your families!" He added.
The crowd ran out in tears of joy.
"I didn't think there were so many." Perros said.
"This organization must have been around for a long time..." Nazo said and looked at the running crowd.
"Now, what are we going to do with you now..." Perros said and put his hand on the boss.
"I'll leave the decision to you, Nazo," he said.
Nazo thought for a moment, and then a harmless idea came into his mind.
"Call your horse." Nazo said, and together they reached the front of the giant gate.
"Alright." Perros said and whistled.
Delgado came in in a flash. Nazo stripped the boss, leaving only his underwear, and sat him on top of Delgado.
"I'll walk him around town." Nazo said and took Delgado by the reins.
"That will humiliate him enough... Forgiveness is harder than the revenge itself." He added.
"I'll go with you." Perros said.
They walked the whole town together. The streets were filled with the tears and laughter of people returning to their families. Many people followed them and waited for the boss's punishment. After Perros and Nazo had gone through the whole town, they stopped.
"And now!" Nazo said.
"I know many of you are furious with this man, so I'll leave him in your hands." Nazo added.
The people were thrilled.
"Do what you want with him!" Nazo said, pulling the boss off Delgado and handing him to the crowd.
"And now we must return to Cyra..." Nazo said.
Perros mounted Delgado and together they returned to the saloon.
Perros and Nazo entered through the swinging doors. Cyra and the others were waiting for them.
"YOU DID IT!" Cyra exclaimed happily.
"We'll have a banquet as a celebration!" Bruno said and raised his glass.
"YES!" Perros said, his mouth watering.
"Why not..." Nazo said and together they celebrated the 'big' raid.
They partied all over town for two days. People brought them gifts, such as food and other useful things.
"I'm so grateful to you, Perros..." Bruno said drunkenly.
"After many years, I was finally able to meet my parents again." He added.
"Don't mention it..." Perros replied drunkenly as well.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" Bruno smiled.
"You've done a lot... But we could use a cook in our group." Perros offered stealthily.
"If you say so..." Bruno said and left.
"Where are you going?" Perros asked.
"To pack my things." Bruno laughed and went away.
After these two days, Perros, Nazo and Cyra packed up the things people had given them and were ready to leave.
"Do we have everything?" Perros asked.
"Yes, we should get going." Nazo said.
"WAIT!" Bruno shouted from a distance.
"I said I was coming with you!" He added.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about him..." Perros laughed nervously.
"SORRY!" Perros shouted back and stopped.
Bruno and Dumpster boarded the stagecoach.
"Does he really have to go too?" Nazo asked.
"Of course he'll be our cook." Perros smiled.
"I didn't mean Bruno, but his pig...." Nazo said annoyed.
"If he can't stay... I won't stay either." Bruno said it emphatically.
"Alright, he can stay." Perros said plainly.
"Oink." Dumpster sounded happily.
"Super, so where are we going?" Bruno asked.
"To a harbour, we need a boat to cross the sea." Nazo explained.
"Yeah, to the harbour!" Perros said happily.
They're getting closer to bringing Cyra home.
