Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: First Battle

The centipede roared and with apparent rage, it rushed toward him.

The strength of the centipede was undoubtedly top-notched, tho it was apparent that the centipede was still young, due to lack of experience, the centipede was greatly relying on its untrained instinct and just charging towards the enemy without a clear strategy, unlike a skilled centipede would.

"This is the very first time a heard a centipede roar and it sounds so wrong!"

He attacked it again with multiple Nature's blessings with 3 different elements.

"Please work for me!"

He aimed his magic to the ground and a splash of water burst out.

"Go wind magic!"

The centipede leaped towards him.

Magic came out again but what element that materialized was not the element he was expecting.

White small thunder materialized and electrocuted them both, with the amount of water around them the effect intensified. Both of them trembled and fall to the ground.

"RNG sucks."

The centipede quickly recovered and stood up again for another round. It raised its pincers and extended its head towards him.

He used nature's blessing again, this time the wind magic materialized and blew him out. The magic was still weak but it had enough power to make a lightweight spirit like him to flew into the air.

The centipede roared.

He waited for the centipede to attack him but it was no longer there, the centipede was nowhere to be found.

"It's gone? How come a monster that big can hide its body?"

The next thing he felt was the intense pain caused by the pincers of the centipede, he instantly felt the sensation of poison in his body, completely incapacitating him.

He slowly landed on the ground because of the damage he just received. White particles started to come out from his body.

"It can go invisible!"

The Centipede approached him and the dents on the centipede's exoskeleton became more visible indicating that just like him, the centipede too was already in its limit and this very moment was a decisive one.

The battle of two young souls for the name of survival would end here.

One would die, while the other one would benefit from the loss of the other.

Slowly, the centipede moved toward him while trembling because of tiredness.

The centipede's pincers were revealed while preparing for the final attack.

He could not move because of the paralyzing poison that the centipede injected on him.

"Nature's blessing spam!"

Fire magic attacked its face and followed up with water magic.

The centipede roared and rushed towards the tiny ball of light simultaneously attacking the centipede with different kinds of magic.

The moment the centipede reached the ball of light lying on the ground 2 kinds of magic got fired on him. First water magic then he followed it up with wind magic that made him flew away from the centipede. Leaving the centipede behind at the center of a water puddle he made.

His body rolled on the ground and quickly prepared for a follow-up.

"Thunder!"

Fire magic came out.

"Thunder!"

Wind magic.

The centipede moved towards him.

"Thunder! Damn it!"

And with his last hope in hand. He felt that his sight started to turn blurred. On his final consciousness, he activated his decisive gamble.

"Thunder!"

White thunder struck the gigantic centipede while standing in the puddle. And with the water puddle beneath the centipede that reinforced the strength of the attack, the massive monster received devastating damage that almost instantly killed the centipede. The other part of the centipede's body didn't receive any damage because the only part that got caught up was its head, and it was more than enough to end the battle.

[You leveled up.]

His spherical bright white body floated up. All of the injuries that he received disappeared, even the poison that the centipede inflicted on him earlier got healed.

"I'm still alive? Looks like all of my injuries got healed. Is it because I leveled up?"

[Correct.]

"I see, as long as I leveled up, every injury that I received in battle will instantly heal. At least I don't need to sleep for days just to recover."

He floated towards the body of the centipede currently drenching on the puddle that would become its respective graveyard.

"I can't believe I actually won. That was close! Fighting a poisonous monster that can turn invisible head-on is a no-go next time."

He floated forward. "I need a place to hide first before another one showed up, I don't want any close to death situation to ever happen again."

He wandered towards the tunnel until he found a hole that he believed was a safe place. A small hole at the stone wall of the cave.

"Hmmm. Let's see."

"Nothing much changed after leveling up, except for one skill point that I can use. Obviously, I'm going to put it to my overpowering nature's blessing. Especially now that I already knew what elements I have an affinity with, which are fire, water, wind, and thunder. Not bad, if I must say."

He floated to the deep part of the hole.

"Let's try it then."

He activated the skill and a fireball came out, compared to the previous level fireball its size considerably improved, before, the fireball was just as big as him, but now it's already double his size. Making it a one-centimeter fireball.

"In human perspective, this degree of power is still a laughable feat, but as long as it improved big time than before, I have no problem with it. And now, for the important matter."

"Guide lady, about the mana entity thing, is there a limit of how many skills I can use?"

[Nature Spirits are mana entities, if their own mana is not sufficient, they can perform magic by using the mana around them instead.]

"Does that mean, I can use my skills infinitely without worrying about my mana consumption?"

[Correct.]

"Correct?"

[Yes.]

"Then..."

"Why not say it sooner!"
