Hermione, Ron and Ginny left the room quietly. The Weasleys hadn't yet returned from Diagon Alley so Hermione and Ginny found this to be the right moment to pack some things. Neither of them were excited about leaving everyone but wanted to save Harry more than anything. Hermione and Ginny sneaked into Ginny's room.
Hermione was sitting on the bed while Ginny was taking some clothes out of her closet.
"Ginny?"
"Hmm?"
"What about your job?"
The question struck Hermione like lightning. It hadn't hit them before but now that Hermione had asked, it struck Ginny too. She'd been after this job for ages and had been so excited when she got it, that she was even ready to leave the Burrow and so she did. Ginny stopped and sat down next to Hermione, with a pair of jeans in her hands. She thought about it for a moment then said,
"Well it doesn't really matter does it. What matters is that we save Harry and saving Harry means saving the Wizarding World. What more would I want than that?"
She gave Hermione a faint smile and went to put her clothes in Hermione's purse. It was the same purse Hermione had used when they were going with Harry in search of the Horcruxes. Hermione sat on the bed, absorbed in her thoughts.
Without a knock, the door was kicked open and there stood Ron.
"Guys, Mum's coming upstairs", he whisper-shouted nervously.
Hermione and Ginny quickly hid the purse and any evidence and just as they finished doing so, Mrs. Weasley showed up with a bright smile.
"Come on girls. Fleur's got you something."
Hermione and Ginny had no choice but to follow Mrs. Weasley downstairs. They wanted to finish packing but couldn't say no. Upon going downstairs, they found Fleur alone. They found out that the others were in their rooms, quite tired after a day of shopping. When she saw Hermione and Ginny arrive, Fleur got up with a box in her hands. Hermione took the box and opened it to find two twin pendants. They were of a beautiful gold colour in the shape of a heart and had gold chains around them. They were simple, but beautiful. They looked like normal pendants but Hermione knew they wouldn't be.
"What are they?" Ginny asked with a smile.
"Twin Pendants. These were everywhere in France and when I saw them here, I couldn't help but get them for the two of you", she said in her French accent.
Her English had improved since the years but she still had a slight accent. She reached for the collar of her robes and took out a pendant like the ones in the box. The only difference was that her's was silver.
"If you wear the pendants, you will know how the owner of its twin is, incase of being far away. I have two, for me and Gabrielle. Ours have the hairs of the same Veela in them but yours is the mane of the same Aurem Lion."
The Aurem Lion was one of the rarest species of lions in the Wizarding World. Aurem, meant gold. It was called that because it shined and looked like pure gold. Hermione and Ginny wore the pendants, offered their thanks with a smile and went back upstairs. Ginny thought it was quite nice of Fleur and so did Hermione, but Hermione was skeptical. Was it possible Fleur suspected them of doing what hey were about to do and that she wanted to help, knowing she couldn't stop them?
Hermione and Ginny quickly wrapped up their packing and hid the bag in Hermione's room. The day passed quickly, faster than they wanted. When the three were called for dinner and went downstairs, Mrs. Weasley saw Ron acting weirder than usual. He wasn't quarrelling with his brothers and reminded his parents about how much he loved them and never wanted to hurt their feelings, despite doing so accidentally so many times. After dinner, the three of them went back upstairs and just as the door behind them was close by Hermione, she started scolding Ron for almost spilling the beans.
"Sorry", he said, "It's just- what if I'll never see them again?"
"Oh, no Ron don't think like that. Let's hope for the best. Let's hope Harry is alive and we will be able to save him and that You-Know-Who will finally die."
After everyone falling asleep, the three grabbed their wands and the purse. Ron entered Hermione's room where her and Ginny were waiting. The plan had been that they'd leave using the door but seeing how noisy it'd be, they decided the safest way would be to jump out of the window. They left a note first, saying the three were safe and they need not worry. Ron volunteered to go first and, with his heart beating jumped from two floors with a soft thud. Hermione went next and then Ginny. They thanked the heavens for there being no bedroom on the ground floor as their thuds would've been heard and quickly left for somewhere far from the Burrow, unsure of what they were going to do next.
