"where did you come from exactly?" "I can tell that you're not from around these parts." I asked Katsumi while she continues to eat non-stop. "I came from the city of kres, a city of the sword kingdom." She replied. "Oh, the city where the former sword hero, Grandle was born. I haven't really been there for a long time." I came there before, when I was asked to ship goods for the city.
She then paused and asked "What are you gonna do now? This city is already been destroyed, and people are starting to move to nerby towns." She became worried after seeing those depressing faces from the people leaving. "I don't really know. I'll probably move to miz of the kingdom of magic. I have a friend there who I can probably ask for some help." It's a long journey from here. I should probably bring some extra food with me.
"The city of miz?! I'm actually heading there myself. Why don't we go there together?" "Eh? But I can go there on my own..." Hmm It's probably safer to go with her than traveling alone. If I ever face some evil beasts along the way I might drain my mana before I even get there. "Fine, I might actually need your help anyway." "Really? Yey!". Tomorrow morning, we will start traveling for a month long journey. I don't really have that much food so we'll probably hunt some wild animals along the way.
Fast forward to tomorrow. It's already morning and Katsumi is late on our meeting place. 30 minutes later, she finally came. "What took you so long?" I asked. "The breakfast on the inn was so tasty, so I ate more." She replied. "What?! Where does the food even go?". We set off our adventure to the city of miz of the kingdom of magic. I never had a real adventure before, so I feel kinda excited.
While we were at a nerby forest, we saw a group of evil beasts. Katsumi is having problems attacking the beast because of the trees blocking her way. The evil beasts blocked the forest's exit without us noticing. Since there's no other way, I took some mana potions and stepped forward. I posed my hands like I'm holding a gun. "Ice bullet!!". With my great accuracy, I shot the evil beast's head one by one. The evil beasts died and dropped some precious stones. Now we have some money to buy us food.
We continue in our adventure. I never had that much fun in years. I remembered going in a dungeon with a bunch of my friends before. We had some minor injuries when we got out, but it was alot of fun.
"Mizuto! I never knew you were that cool! I haven't seen ice magic before, and all the mages that I met can only do air or water, but you can do both! You really are amazing!!". Mages aren't that popular, so seeing someone that use advance magic is pretty rare. The kingdom of swords is mostly focused on swordsmanship, so Katsumi learned only to use melee weapons, and she really is good with it
"Well, I once bacame a magic student from the city of miz. I can proudly say that I was one of the best students in my school. Yes, I can use advance magic, but you're probably still stronger than me. You probably can defeat me in just a matter of seconds" Then she looked at me with an iritated face. "why are you like that!? I just praised you because I know you really are talented, and still you insisted. Yes, I'm really stronger than you, but without it I'm just useless. that's why I left my-... yeah, that's right....". She suddenly become quiet. "Left what?" I asked curiously. "It's nothing of your concern." She replied.
We then entered a small village. Their houses are all destroyed. Something probably attacked this place earlier. The villagers we tried talking to just avoided us. Their eyes are filled with fear, like there's no hope left in them.
Since Katsumi and I don't have anywhere to go, we just sat on a bench near the entrance. Then some time later, an old man walked up to us. "Dear travelers, what made you come to our village this time and day? We don't really have anything to offer besides shelter for you to stay. And if you have any questions you want to ask I'll be glad to answer them for you.
"What happened to this place?" I asked. Then the old guy had this worried expression on his face. Then he said. "We've been attacked by evil beast every single day, this past weeks. At first, the only charged at our walls like they usually do. But day by day, they become more and more intelligent. They started using spears. And now, we just saw one who learned to use a bow". "Where are they coming from?". I asked. "Why do you want to know about it?" The old man's asked with confusion. "Because I want to know the reason behind all of this."
