"Asui-" Ectoplasm called, "-since you're finished with your assignment do you mind running this to Snipe? He should be in the gym."
"Sure." Asui nodded, getting up from her desk and accepting a stack of files from Ectoplasm.
Bakugo growled, gripping his pencil so tight he could hear the side crack. He leaned closer to his notebook while he irritably bounced his right leg glancing at the clock as it slowly ticked away. He could hear you behind him, writing notes in your stupid notebook while Ectoplasm helped you with a problem.
Bakugo knew you hated math; this was your least favorite class.
Two weeks and neither one of you were breaking the tension, and talking to the other person first. Bakugo fought the urge to turn his head to look at you. He replayed the two of you in the mountains over and over again in his head, and every time he came up empty handed as to why he acted the way he did.
Your arm healed from being burned by his quirk and from almost getting dislocated.
"Thank you." You said as Ectoplasm walked away from your desk allowing you to move on to the last problem on your worksheet you had to complete before the end of class.
Twenty-two minutes fazed by, you leaned back in your chair staring out the window. It was a clear day; the sun was bright as you watched the birds flap on by.
"(y/n)-" Ectoplasm called your name; you turned your head. "-your done with the assignment?"
"Yeah." You answered, Midoriya's mouth dropped open. He wasn't even half way finish with the second page how on earth did you already finish!? This was your weakest subject!
"Do you mind going to the gym? It's been some time, Asui should be back by now. I am sure Snipe is talking her ear off."
"Uh sure." You said slowly standing from your desk. Bakugo's eyes instantly locked onto your back once you walked by. You didn't so much as glance his way, you kept your eyes forward.
"Thank you." Ectoplasm said, knowing he was unable to go himself because he couldn't leave the class unattended.
"Where is the gym?" You asked turning to him before you reached the door.
"Right." Ectoplasm sighed, "Your still new and haven't found your way completely around the school yet."
"I can go with her!" Mina quickly spiked her arm in the air. "I just finished my work!" Mina said raising the small packet in her hand.
"Hm..." Ectoplasm glanced from you then to Mina. "...very well."
"Yay!" Mina hopped up from her chair.
"Thanks for coming." You said once Mina closed the classroom door.
"Are you kidding!?" Mina laughed, "I was dying of boredom in there!"
"Yeah." You briskly laughed, letting the conversation die as you turned to face ahead.
"Hey..." Mina slowly spoke as you guys turned a corner.
"Hm?" You looked up from gazing mindlessly at the floor.
"Are you ok?" Mina asked, "You haven't seemed like yourself lately..."
You haven't felt like yourself lately...
"Yeah-" You nod, "-I'm good."
"Everything...going ok in your therapy?" Mina slowly tested the waters to see if this was something you were ok with talking about.
"Oh-" You sighed; "-you know about that?"
"Yeah, ah, honestly last week when you said you couldn't hang out after school, I was kinda mad, but Deku explained you couldn't and one thing led to another and he filled me in."
"I'm sorry I couldn't-"
"No!" Mina held her hands up, "I completely understand, your health comes first always! After everything you went through, I don't know why I was surprised to hear you had a therapist."
"Dr. Aimi has really helped; the sessions are going good." You answered.
"That's great to hear!" Mina smiled, "I just...I wish I knew what has got you so down these past few weeks. Your more quiet than normal, and you're not joking around like you use to."
"Mina-" You licked your lips, "-are we friends?"
"Wh-What?" Mina stopped walking. Instantly you felt stupid and wished you could go back in time.
"Nothing-" You quickly waved off.
"Of course, we're friends!" Mina laughed, you turned back to her.
"We are?"
"Yes!" Mina reached out and hugged you. "If I ever made you think we weren't, I am so sorry!"
"You didn't I just...I didn't know so..."
"We are best friends!" Mina said holding your hands in hers. "Don't you ever forget that."
"Best friends?"
"Yes! You are my favorite person (y/n), you are the first person I want to tell everything to! I love hanging out with you. That's why I was upset last week when you couldn't hang out but now, I know why so its fine!"
"I see..."
"Why?" Mina wondered, "Who has been making you think you don't belong here!? Whose ass am I gonna beat!?" Mina was bouncing on her feet, getting worked up ready to tear someone a fresh asshole.
"N-No one!" You laughed at her serious expression. "I just wasn't sure is all." You promised, "I don't know how much about friends and I think I just suck at it."
"You don't suck!" Mina said, "(y/n) everyone here loves you! Me, Jiro, Momo, Deku, Shoto we all got your back!"
"You do?"
"Yes!" Mina lightly pushed you. "Stop doubting yourself and get out from inside your head!"
'I was angry, I just got inside my head-!' Bakugo's voice echoed around your mind as you pulled your gaze off Mina.
Not everyone here had your back...
"I kinda dig her-!" A deep voice gurgled in laughter; "-I bet she can do a lot with that tongue!"
Mina and yourself walked into the gym just then, only to see three third year students surrounding Asui who tightly held the folders she was given against her chest.
"What's going on here?" Mina wondered letting the gym door slam shut. "Where is Mr. Snipe?"
"Like we were telling your little friend here-" A spiked haired man nodded down to Asui, "-our class got moved outside."
"Then why are you inside?" You questioned walking beside Mina towards them.
"What's with all the questions?" A light orange haired kid countered with a cocky smirk, "You three ladies get the divine pleasure of being in the presence of third years!"
"Is that what this is?" You raised an eyebrow.
"Your kinda hot." The last one pointed out, his face round like a bowling bowl, his skull probably just as thick.
"Yeah-" Orange hair stepped closer, "-your right!"
"Asui are you ok?" Mina asked, touching her shoulder.
"Ye-Yeah." Asui nodded, but clearly looked shaken.
"What did you do to my friend!?" Mina glared,
"Nothing!" The boys laughed,
"Nothing she wouldn't like anyway." One added on.
"Where did you say your teacher is?" You asked, feeling over this conversation.
"What's the hurry?" The orange hair smirked, "Why don't we show you girls where our locker room is and we have a little fun?"
"I would much rather dig my own grave." You commented, "Come on-" You nodded to your friends, "-we can find Snipe on our own."
"Hold it-!" Spikey reached out, before he could grab your shoulder you moved out of reach.
"Don't touch me." You ordered.
"-we are willing to give you first years a little bit of our time, don't go ruining it acting like a bitch."
"Oh, I'm the one acting like a bitch?" You looked at him up and down. "Hm, interesting." Spike's face dropped just then; the feeling of rejection stung.
"You're not going anywhere!" He barked, "How about you three just move your little asses over to that door and we can get this show on the road."
"Bite me." You sneered, stepping in front of Asui beside Mina.
"Oh, I would love to." The round faced one drooled.
"I'm gonna be sick." Your stomach turned at the remote thought of him placing a single finger on you.
"Come on-!" Spikey hair ordered, reaching out to grab Mina. You weren't going to allow it; you blocked his reach grabbing his wrist before twisting and snapping his arm.
"AH!" He cried, straggling backwards.
"No touch." You repeated.
"You stupid fucking bitch!" He cried looking at his disfigured arm.
"Funny-" You smirked, "-that's what I was about to say."
"Oh, your gonna pay-!" The orange hair spat.
"Oh yeah?" Mina laughed. "How so pumpkin boy?"
"P-Pumpkin boy!? AH-!" He reached both arms up directed towards Mina and as he did you felt the air shift and the hair on your neck stand up.
Before Mina could blink, the orange hair student used his quirk, blasting a steady stream of lightening towards her. Mina didn't have the reaction time to side step an attack like this, before Asui or Mina could process what happened, you were in front of Mina taking the full brunt of lightening.
"(y/n)-!" Asui cried, Mina stared with wide eyes and her brain flat lined.
Every muscle inside your body contracted, it felt like someone had split open your veins and was pouring liquid acid onto them. Your jaw was locked down as absorbing the lightening became too much.
"Look what you did!" The rounded face student pointed once the lightening quirk was over. Mina covered her mouth, watching as you dropped to your knees. A moment of hope flourished inside Mina, perhaps you were able to take that hit. After another second you slowly fell onto your side.
"(y/n)!" Mina cried, tears filling her eyes as she stared down at you, waiting for you to get up and brush this off like it was nothing, like you always did!
But you laid unmoving, steam rolled off your skin as your eyes remained shut.
