The remainder of class was dead silent, everyone felt Aizawa daring another person to speak out of turn during his lecture.
"(y/n)-" Aizawa called as he placed his book on his desk, you snapped your head from gazing out the window. "-you are excused." He said, quickly giving a nod you scooped up your bag and textbook making a quick get a way.
"Wha-?" A confused voice sounded.
"You have something to say Kirishima?" Aizawa snapped as you stepped out of the room.
"N-No sir!" A terrified voice sounded as the door closed behind you.
You let out a deep breath as your heart began to settle finally once out of the thick atmosphere that was your class.
Your stomach growled from deep inside your belly, you felt a wave of heat engulf your body as your sight slowly began to spin. You groaned in pain as you made your way to All Might's office, he wanted you to eat the first few lunches with him which you didn't mind.
Aizawa knew All Might wanted you to eat lunch with him, thankfully he excused you early so you wouldn't be engulfed by your new classmates and their endless questions. He really was a nice guy under that sleeping bag.
What was with that anyway?
"(y/n)!" All Might cheered with a mouth full of food, "Sorry I started without you-"
"It's ok." You waved; the smell of the chicken had your mouth watering. You dropped your bookbag, taking a seat and inhaled your portion of homemade food that was waiting for you.
"Hungry I see." All Might chuckled, "Remember what I said-"
"I know." You muttered with a mouth full of food, "I wasn't hungry then." You lied; how could you break out a bag of chips within your first hour of being in your new class? It was already so awkward with how everyone stared at you as if you had a third eye resting on your face you didn't know about.
"How was your first class?" All Might wondered,
"It was good." You answered, "Mr. Aizawa didn't allow much talking because he was lecturing so..."
All Might chuckled, "That sounds like Aizawa, how are you feeling?"
"I'm ok-" You said, "-better now that I ate."
"Good, sorry to cut this short but I have a meeting-" All Might sighed, he hated meetings this caused you to smirk. "-you should get to your next class; you don't want to be late!" You nodded, picking up your bag after saying goodbye to All Might.
Walking through the large school was like you were maneuvering through a maze. You looked at the paper and then matched the number to the doors. It was time for Midnights class, hero arts whatever that was.
You felt pride for being a little early, maybe you could find your seat without causing too much of a scene. Hopefully Midnight will be like Aizawa and not allow interruptions in her class and you can slip away question free again.
You let out a small hopeful breath as you pulled the door open only to freeze in your place, your full stomach turned seeing the classroom was full of your classmates and their conversation instantly halted upon seeing you.
"(l/n)!" The pink girl from your first class smiled wide, "We wondered when you would get here."
"...you did?" You slowly closed the door, moving more into the room.
"Your seat is right here!" A girl with long black hair pointed. Once again, you were behind the ash blond boy who held a bored expression on his face.
"Um...thanks." You said moving to take a seat.
"Of course!" The girl smiled, "I am Yaoyorozu Momo! You can just call me Momo."
"Nice to meet-" You started.
"Are you really the girl from the news!?" The same blond boy from earlier who had his outburst came flying to your desk.
"I am Denki Kaminari-!" The blond introduced himself, "-so are you!?"
"I don't..." You trailed off, leaning against the back of your seat feeling drained off all energy.
"Here!" The pink girl said pulling her cell phone from her bag and shoveling it into your face.
Sure enough, there on the small screen was the fight between Shadow Jack and All Might.
You cringed seeing your appearance, you had blood trickling down your arms and legs from disconnecting yourself from the needles they shoved into your body in order to extract your energy so it can be converted.
"I-I didn't know they got this on video." You said, watching the video for a moment longer before turning away feeling physically ill.
Why hadn't All Might told you about this?
Maybe he didn't know?
"Wow!" The pink girl gasped, "You look so different! That really is you!?"
"Uh...yeah..." You trailed off feeling uncomfortable with the feeling of sleep nipping at your eyes.
"Why are you here at UA!?"
"Where did you come from!?"
"Are those two boys you were with here at UA too!?" A sly smile played on the pink girls' lips. Your heart stung at the mention of Gray and Shiro, you felt your chest deflate.
"Hey so (l/n)-" A boy with wildly messy green hair and matching eyes approached. "-do you mind if I ask what your quirk is!?"
"Huh?" You blinked feeling the title wave of questions starting to drown you.
"Enough everyone-!" A boy with short hair and glasses tried to break up the tight crowd, "-you are overwhelming poor (l/n) with your crowding-!"
"So are you, Ida!"
"I-I am not!" He defended, "I am just trying-"
The overwhelming stimuli was too much for you to handle, your voice drained to the back of your throat.
"Get the hell away from me!" The blond sitting in front of you pushed a short boy away. "Everyone go to your damn seats!"
"So, what really happened?" The class ignored Bakugo and Ida's ranting and continued to slap you with question after question.
You turned from the crowd surrounding your desk as you reached into your bag and pulled out a bag of fruit snacks, your arms felt like noodles as you slowly opened the bag.
"Oh, (l/n) eating food of any kind is prohibited in the classroom." The boy with glasses told you, you made eye contact with him as you slid in a few pieces. "Ah!" He cried seeing you weren't obeying the rules.
"Everyone get to your seats!" Midnight called as she walked into the room, her heels echoing off the floor. You watch as your classmates quickly make their way to their own desk, leaving you be.
You closed your eyes for a moment thanking Midnight for coming when she did.
Midnight began her class, as she did you looked out the window placing pieces of delicious gummies into your mouth as you rubbed your neck, the muscles inside felt so stiff with tension they cried out in pain.
"(y/n) (l/n)-" Midnight stopped at your desk; you turned your head seeing the teacher looking down at you. "-welcome to UA." She smiled; you nodded your head lightly thanking her. She walked away continuing to lecture out of the book in her hand.
After a half hour of boredom, you glanced around the room opening another bag of snacks but was taken back by the shocked expressions of a few of your classmates.
"Hey!" The round short boy Bakugo had pushed away raised his hand.
"Yes Mineta?" Midnight turned,
"Why does (l/n) get to eat in class, but we don't!?" You felt more pairs of eyes on you, including the boy in front of you as he craned his neck to look at you.
"We are talking about chapter six, not (y/n)." Midnight brushed off the small grape looking boy named Mineta. If you didn't know any better, you would think he just got shot through the heart with how he acted. You pulled your lips together in a thin line as everyone watched you in confusion. You sunk down into your seat trying to hide from the never-ending sea of eyes.
Two weeks flew by like a tight ball full of anxiety.
Every day seemed to be a carbon copy of the day before.
Breakfast with All Might, then rush off to school where you felt exhaustion throbbing inside your head while hunger scratched away at your stomach. With no other choice but to eat to stay alive you would crack open your handy dandy snack bag and feel the beating eyes of your classmates who for some reason had a stick up their ass about you eating in class while they couldn't.
Any time you reached out and tried to say a handful of words to one of them, they would instantly shoot right to Shadow Jack digging their questions in. Bringing him up felt like they were drilled nails into your heart and pumping your chest cavity full of anxiety instantly shutting you down.
You ate lunch alone or with All Might.
Thanks to your tutor you were a little head of the curriculum being taught in school but that made your brain go numb being taught the same thing once again.
You got really good at keeping the sidelines warm, staring at your classmates as they trained in various ways. Aizawa kept you company most times but it wasn't the same, you wanted to be like everyone else and join in but you weren't allowed.
Finally, before the bell rang to end the school day you were always excused so you could rush on over to Recovery Girl who uses an inch of her quirk, burning through any strength you mustered through the day, leaving you passed out for All Might to come collect.
School was not shaping up to be anything like All Might had described it would be.
Your heart was beating against your rib cage, it pounded so hard feeling as if it was going to break free any second. Sticky sweat coated your skin, reaching your arm out you felt the cool wall guiding you to the floor. You gasped in breaths trying to regulate your breathing.
"(y/n)?" You slowly opened your eyes seeing Aizawa stare down at you, holding his sleeping bag in his arm. "What-"
"H-Hey M-Mr. Aizawa." You gave a weak wave.
"Come on." He sighed, helping you off the floor. He allowed you to rest inside the teachers' lounge. He got a bag of chips and soda from the vending machine, quickly handed them to you.
"I-"
"Take them." He ordered; you slowly reach out gripping the cold can.
"Thank you."
"Maybe All Might was wrong." Aizawa sighed sitting next to you, "Maybe it's too soon for you to be here."
"No-" You shook your head, picturing a disappointed look on All Might's face, "-I just went up the stairs to fast is all."
"Hm." Aizawa hummed not buying it. "I'll get you a pass for the elevators."
"You don't-"
"You want to be a student here, yeah?"
"Yes..." You answered unsure.
"Then you can't pass out in the hallway every time you take the stairs."
"Yes sir." You sighed, taking a sip of the bubbly drink. Your eyes instantly lit up tasting the sweet liquid as it tickled its way down your throat. "What is this!?" You gasped, loving it instantly.
"Uh...it's a coke?" Aizawa raised an eyebrow, seeing the life flare in your eyes for a brief moment. "First soda?" You nodded your head as you took another drink. Aizawa smirked at your expression as he stood.
"We better get you to class."
You and Aizawa left the teachers' lounge slowly making your way to the class you're supposed to be in an hour ago. You watched as your homeroom teacher opened the door, bluntly interrupting the class without a care. He pushed you into the room as you gripped the chilled can tightly in your hands.
President Mic walked over; confusion clear as day written on his face.
"What the-?" President Mic asked as Aizawa whispered,
"She collapsed in the hall."
"Oh." President Mic nodded, glancing over as you quickly made your way to your seat. You felt yourself squishing your body close together making yourself smaller feeling eyes glaze over the side of you face. "Well then-!" President Mic said after closing the door, "-where were we?"
"You were about to answer my question about our homework-!" The short haired boy with glasses raised his hand. "-I was inquiring about why we haven't had any English papers due?"
You watched your peers turn to the boy, their eyes glowing with rage as a dark aura leaking into the classroom. You leaned back watching the show.
"Why are you reminding him about homework!?" Kaminari harshly whispered.
"Who reminds their teacher about homework!?" Mina agreed.
"Right!" President Mic nodded, "I am not going to make any of you write essays in this class."
"What!?" Th glasses boy looked as if he had seen a ghost.
"Yes!" The other students cheered.
"Why!?"
"Shut up the hell up Ida!" Bakugo snapped.
"Because I am not going to read them." President Mic replied casually.
"Huh!?" Ida's mind was blown.
"You think I am going to come here every morning, work all day and then go home and read fifty terrible essays about the same subject-!?" President Mic laughed, "-you're out of your mind!"
President Mic was now your favorite teacher.
