Chapter 8 - Spiritual Plane

Shrugging off the fact Isabel is ignoring me, I walk over to Raphael. "Raphael, I'm going to speak with Elaine once everyone's been tested. Is there anything I'll need to bring to the morning exercise's?"

"Everything you'll need will be provided, are you certain you want to start tomorrow though?" Raphael gives me a long look, his eyebrows furrowed.

"Ah, well I think the sooner I start the better. I'm sure I've got a lot to learn after all." I scratch at my chin looking at the ceiling. "I figure the more time in public I have, then the easier it'll be to make a reputation," I let out a long sigh.

"If you're worried about making a reputation then you needn't worry. You're all summoned heroes, to be revered. If anything your reputation will proceed you."

"I suppose that's my issue, I'd rather have to build my own reputation." I lean against the wall, my hands in my pockets.

Raphael silently contemplates for a moment. "You'll make a fine warrior, if thats how you think. I'll keep the troops in the dark about who you are, does that suit you?"

"Yes, thank you," I turn to look at him bowing lightly.

Lito's voice echoes through the hall, " Not that all of you have been tested, lets split into groups." Lito and Elaine seperate across the room from Raphael, "everyone come stand by myself, Elaine, or Raphael."

"That's my que, I'll see you in the morning. Please send someone to get me, if you could?" A turn waving over my shoulder.

Raphael chuckles, "Will do, good luck."

Moving I stand next to Elaine, a few other classmates at my side. "I think that's everyone who wants to come with you Miss Elaine."

Elaine smiles brightly, "Let us head outside, everyone." She clasps her hands together.

"Is there going to be much destructive spells or anything," I meet Elaine's eyes.

"No, we'll be doing meditation to help detect your inner spirit. It will help down the road to connecting with the Spirit Realm." Elaine explains as I lead them to the garden.

"Then theres a clearing in the back garden we could use. I found it while I was exploring." I hold the door open for everyone. We trail through the garden, the path opening up to a large clearing. Small glowing flowers dot the landscape.

Turning to the group I gesture, "I hope this will be enough space." I smile at Elaine lightly, "What do we start with?"

Elaine stares around the clearing, "These are luminaries, there flowers that evolved from feeding off spirit stones. This'll work perfectly, everyone spread out and get comfortable. Your going to close your eyes, lean your head back. You just need to breath in an out slowly for now untel your relaxed."

I walk to the center of the clearing, sitting back against the large tree. I lean my bead back against the cool bark of the tree. Controlling my breathing, I envision all the tension from my chest melting out through my extremities.

Elaine's eyes scanning over the others, she feels a sudden pressure from behind her. Turning to look at me, she stands in shock, her eyes widen. A steady pulsation of spiritual energy swirling around my body. "He's already exuding this much?" She mutters walking closer and slowly pacing back and forth.

I sense a flickering light that continues to grow stronger in my body. My attention drawn forwards as my mind focuses on it, it suddenly exudes a force. Pulling me into it, a pass through a massive current of entwined light. A sudden impact shakes my body, forcing me from my trance.

The forest around me made up of dark pines, I find myself in the center of a stone circle. With six pillars evenly spaced around it. Strange symbols carved into each of them. The sky a shade of violet, flickering with red stars.

I find myself locked in a trace for a while, shaking myself from my revere. I step from the stone circle, slowly following a path. "What… is this place?" I speak into the woods around me.

A strange surge washes over me, "Come to me, Traveller."

My eyes go dark, as my steps lead me through the forest. A marge cave opening looms in front of me. 'Why can't I stop walking?' My mind still active, as my body moves automatically into the cave.

Glowing orbs line the roof, illuminating the space entierly. I find myself walking slowly down a spiral staircase. I strain against the pull on my mind, stumbling I clutch the wall. "I don't know what you are, but what do you want with me?"

"I wish to leave this dark and dreary world," the ethereal voice resounds in my head. "You will see the truth when you reach the bottom of the stairs…" the voice fades out.

I run a hand through my hair, "why use force to get my damned help, when you can just explain." I grumble, continueing my descend on the stairs. I find a small doorway leading into a stone passage. This time the orbs hang inside of lanterns from the ceiling. A soft white glow at the end of the tunnel.

"Guess I got no where to go but there, huh?" I glace around, searching for the door I'd just walked through. "This is probably bad," I mutter.

Walking towards the end of the cooridor, I glance around the chamber. Runes and hieroglyphics line the walls. Circular platforms stacked on top of one another.

On-top of a dias, a girl shacked by her hands and feet dangles in the air. A pillar on each side of her lined with glyphs, a cicle of glyphs on the floor. Dressed in a soft black velvet dress, with red embroidery.

"Are you the one that spoke to me?" I ask, standing just outside the circle of glyph's. I stand waiting for a response for what feels like ages.

Getting impatient I tentatively reach out, my hand passes through something like jelly. A sudden shattering noice echoes through the chamber. Clear glasslike crystals crumble in a circle around the girl, seeming to melt into the ground.

I step forwards, brushing the long blonde hair away from her face, "Can you hear me?" I glance at both of the pillars. "Maybe these shakles are still supressing it?" I scratch my head, reaching up, I place my hand on both the pillars. The energy in my body revolving slowly, I press the energy out. A dull crunch echoes in the chamber, the glyph's melting into a red substance that trickles down the stone.

A crumbling sound emerges from the pillars as they slowly break down to the floor. I reach out catching the small body in my hands. I glance around, the path behind me opened once more. 'Guess I gotta walk back, maybe that thing with transport me back?'
