Chapter 9 - A New Addition?

Elaine's small yelp filling the clearing, the light from Ezekiel's body vanishes in an instant. The students in the clearing stirring from their meditation.

"Is something wrong?" Noah looks around confused, "Wait, Wait, Where did Ezekiel go?" He rounds on Elaine, glaring at her.

"I understand your confused," Elaine says grinly, "But you all need to get to the mansion. Ezekiel was transported somewhere, so we need to notify the others."

"What do you mean, 'transported'," Noah demands, his brow scrunched in anger.

"You all could be in danger of the same thing happening, for now we must inform the others!" Elaine says loudly, "Please, for your safety come with me to the Mansion." She abruptly turns walking quickly along the path.

Entering the mansion, Elaine is greeted by Irene immediately, "What happened to Ezekiel?" She grabs onto Elaine's shirt, her face twisted and worried.

Gently taking Irene's hands into her own, Elaine responds, "He was transported to a spirit realm. I tried to trace it…but it's out of my reach." She smile's bitterly, "We'll have to wait and hope he makes it back here."

I stand with the girl on my back, as I trudge to the stone encirclement. The forest undisturbed, no wind or sounds to speak of. I sigh into the eerie silence as I gently place the girl on the stone formation. Sitting in the center, with my legs crossed I leave the girl cradled with my legs. 'Let's wee if I can get back' I let out a long sigh, repeating the same process that'd lead me here. I imagine the clearing I had been sitting it, feeling myself pulled through the familiar tunnel.

A bright flash from the garden bringing the attention of everyone present. Irene's hands tremble in Elaine's, tearing them free she rushes from the mansion alongside Isaac and Noah.

I open my eyes, finding the familiar clearing around me. "At least I made it back," I brush my hands along the girls cheek in my lap. "Just what are you?"

The sound of rushing footsteps coming up the path reaches my ears. "I'm here!" I shout into the woods. I stay seated waiting for them to arrive.

Irene's small legs somehow getting here there in front of everyone else. She halts when she sees the surreal sight before her. Sitting at the base of the tree, Ezekiel shimmers with waves of Spiritual Essence. A small girl with long glossy blonde hair cradled in his lap, her head resting in the croock of his arm. His eyes glowing a mystic blue color.

I sit upright a bit suprised by the princess's sudden appearance. "I'm back." I say calmly as more people trickle in, Elaine and Irene both come up to me, dropping to their knees.

"What happened?" Elaine asks, gazing at the girl, "Where did you find her?"

"She was chained up in some chamber, I heard a voice that directed me to her." I sighed, lightly, "Now I'm back here. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with her." I gesture to the girl in my lap.

Isabel glares at me, "Why are you holding her like that?" She demands loudly.

"I wasn't sure if she'd transport with me, if I wasn't holding onto her." I scratch me head, "I don't know if it was a good idea to free her or not, but I couldn't just let her stay there chained to pillars." Shrugging I look at Elaine.

Elaine sighs, "Well, I don't think she's a spirit. Though you could try channeling your spirit energy into her, considering where you found her."

"Let's head to the Mansion first," I loop an arm under her knees. Standing I walk through the throng of people. As we leave the clearing Isaac and Isabel fall into step on my right, Irene following close by my left.

"Is…she even alive?" Isabel hesitantly asks from beside me.

"She is alive," Elaine interrupts from my other side. "I think she's been put to sleep by spirit arts of some kind."

"Do you know how to wake her?" I asks, Isaace holds the door open for me. I nod to him in thanks. Walking to my room, I gently place her on the couch. My fingers brushing the hair from her face.

"You went to a far stronger spirit realm, than I've ever seen. I don't know if I'll be strong enough to break the spell." Elaine kneels beside me, "Place your hand on the center of her chest, and focus like you did before. You'll need to direct your mind towards her."

"Does it need to be…there," I chuckle nervously.

"Yes, I understand you hesitation as it is a female, "but that is the closest to her spirit as you can get."

I pinch my nose between two fingers, closing my eyes as I gather myself. I open my eyes, turning to my class. "Go wait in the main foyer please, I dont know if shell be hostile when she wakes up or not."

Isaac meets my eyes, nodding lightly he turns to the class, "Alright everyone, go wait in the foyer." He ushers them out, leaving me, Elaine Raphael, Princess Irene, and Lito in the room with the girl.

"Princess Irene, with all due respect, go wait in the foyer." I turn to face her, bowing lightly, "I can't afford to have anything happen to you at the Estate."

Irene's head hangs for the moment, before she looks up with a bright smile, "I'll do as you ask, but you owe me for telling me I'll be in the way." She twirls around leaving the room.

I look at Raphael confused, "When did I say she'd be in the way?"

"It was implied, I'm sure she's just over reacting. Princess Irene can be quite a handful sometimes," Raphael laughs lightly.

"I see," I turn to the girl laying on the couch. Sighing once more I place my arm along the center of her body, my hand resting on her sternum. My right hand resting on the top of her head, I close my eyes.

The three figures in the room back away from the torrent of Spiritual energy, "This is incredible," Lito breathes in astonishment.

Elaine stands transfixed to the spot as she watching the vibrant swirling vortex of spiritual energy. "Truly astonishing," her eyes twinkle, "He has a truly massive trove of energy."

I insert my spiritual energy, to be met with a vast black plane. Stretching as Far as I can see in all directions, "Where are you?" My voice resounds within the space, waves of light pulsating throughout.

I continue rotating more energy, extending my awareness as far as I can. A small pull on my arm seeks to lead my somewhere. I follow, the pull growing stronger the further I travel. Sometimes urging me straight others pulling me side to side.

In the distance I see a small speck of light, shimminger faintly. I kick off the air, gently gliding towards it. "Is that you," I call out lightly.

"Who…who Is you?" A voice responds, flowing through my mind like a gentle breeze.

"Why are you here, all alone in this darkness," I respond sadly. Twirling in the air i take in the vast void, "There's a brightness unlike any other, if you follow me."

"This is all I've known," the voice responds, "This deep dark plane, is where I came into being."

Arrive before the light, I see the figure of the girl, dyed red by her energy, her blonde hair flowing in the darkness. "Come with me," I murmer gently, "There's so much to see." I reach out a hand, holding it outstretched between us.

The girl glances up at me, her eyes reflect the swirling colors that exude from my spirit. Her hand hovering before mine. Seeing her draw it back I reach out and gently grasp it. "What is your name," I ask as I intwine our fingers.

"My…name?" She asks drawing closer as she stares up at me, "What is a name?"

I place a hand on her side, leading her in a slow dance. "A name is something used to identify yourself. It is for others to use to talk to you." I explain simply, "Don't you have one?"

Her body tenses, but relaxes as we slowly dance through the space. "I have no such thing," she stare up at me, then smiles brightly. "I know, why don't you give me a name?"

I close my eyes, as we continue to flow through the void of darkness. "If that is what you want, I will give you a name," I fall silent as I think.

"Is a name difficult to give?" She inquires, tilting her head slightly.

"Mm, It's something that must be thoughtful," i smile, "How about Alice?"

"Mi..na? My name is Mina?" He excited voice flows as she grips my arms. A large grin painting her face as her eyes sparkle.

"It's Nice to meet you, Alice. My name is Ezekiel," I press my palm to my chest. "Are you ready to see the outside world?" I ask with a smile.

She turns looking out over the void, "Goodbye," she says quietly. Her trembling hand takes mine. "Let's go," she says staring up at me.

The torrent of spiritual energy around my body slowly fades away. Alice's eyes flutter open, a gleaming red in contrast to her pale skin and golden hair. "Welcome home," I say lightly, as I rest back on my laurel's.

Reaching out she grabs the cloth on my chest, hiding her face from the others. "W-who are they?" Her trembling voice inquires softly.

"These are friends of mine, The woman is Elaine, the man in the fancy robes is Lito, and the one in a sword and armor is Raphael." I raised a hand to keep them silent.

Alice peaks over my shoulder, her stomach rumbles lightly. She hides her face in my chest again. "I'm thirsty," she murmurs

"Do you mean hungry?" I turn to the three behind me, "Can you have Joseph bring some snacks here?"

Elaine and Raphael leave the room, only Lito remaining. "Her eyes, their red?" He asks quietly from behind me.

"Yes, Is that abnormal here?" I turn my head, shocked by his expression. Lito stands there gaping in astonishment, "Lito, is something wrong?"

"Well that depends, how do you view vampires…?" He asks shaking himself from his stupor.

"Well on earth, we had fairy tails of them. I suppose it would depend on how the individual acts." I shrug lightly, turning I see alice staring at me. Small fangs protruding from her mouth, her eyes gleaming Red.

"Vampires have their own country here, and live in tendem with humans. Theres some… Racial? Bias that some people feel towards them." Lito slowly comes to stand to my right.

"Will it be a problem if I take her in though..?" I ask reaching out I take Alice's hand's.

"There should not be, they feed on spiritual energy, through the blood. You should have plenty to provide for her with ease." Lito simply shrugs, moving for the door, he glances over his shoulder. "They view the act of feeding as a private matter, so I'll take my leave."

Alice still clutches to my chest mutters, I'm thirsty Ezekiel," her fangs lightly dangling from behind her lips. She presses against me, her face nearing my shoulder.

"It's alright, bite down and drink," I murmur lightly, as her fangs press through my skin, a soft sense of calm spreads through my body. I relax, stroking the girls hair.
