Kaiden opened his eyes and everything appeared differently than he remembered. He saw different vibrations and strange phenomena around everywhere he looked. It was as if he was in a new world.
"Quite the sight, isn't it?" Liam spoke from the doorway. Kaiden had noticed him a while ago from the fluctuations in that direction but didn't pay him any mind until he spoke.
"What is all of this, father? I feel able to sense more than before, I believe my thought process is faster along with my thinking speed!" Kaiden wasn't wrong, if he was still Jay, it would be understandable because of his modifications to himself and the world's help, but he didn't have either, that he knew of.
"That's how we all feel when we get our Mage Mind, Kaiden, don't worry though, you shall get used to it soon enough," Liam said with a smile.
"The reason you had a massive tremor in your head a few days ago was that it was cracked. The patriarch gave us items to heal it since he was the cause for them, you caused the crack to worsen as well. I dont know how but you even had a little bit of you mystic sea built up, leading you to use it. If you overuse it, it can make those cracks worse by expanding them. Which could lead to you breaking your Mage Mind." He told Kaiden while scolding him for always going beyond what he should, to which Kaiden replied with a helpless smile.
'So the patriarch was the main cause! I still feel like killing him if I am honest. Also, this Mage Mind sounds intriguing, it appears have to be careful using it, but how do I know when I used it too much, the headaches?' Kaiden thought to himself before his father caught his attention.
"It should also be stated that Mage Minds don't typically form when you're not eight years old. I believe since you prematurely developed it, it also caused you a massive amount of pain." He told Kaiden with a serious tone. "Alright, let's teach you everything I can, or well, Someone else teach you about the Mage Mind, shall we?"
Kaiden and Liam walked towards a training hall with many members of the Gremmen family training in martial arts, with weapons, their minds with a rune, or meditating with a strained face.
Everyone, except those straining themselves, looked towards the two, most of them focusing on the young Kaiden.
Kaiden felt daggers of jealousy stab him and even pressure land on him as if observing his power. He felt annoyed and just like before, his golden eyes brightened and that reddish hue became a bit bigger, subconsciously fending off the pressures trying to scan him. He didn't know if it did do anything, since he doesn't know how the so called 'Mage Mind' works, but the pressures on him lessensd.
To his annoyance however, heavier pressures pierced through and scanned him. This forced Kaiden to push his mind further and suddenly everyone felt as if the world gathered for Kaiden and empowered his mind. This made Kaiden's mind shake as, his eyes glowed brighter and the reddish hue took more domain over the gold, and sent away a few more of the piercing gazes.
At that moment everyone couldn't help but look at Kaiden and realize he was indeed a prodigy for fending off minds, even if slightly, stronger than his, though not a level above his, it was still an incredible feat.
Some grew more jealous, others curious, and a small few in awe of the power of his Mage Mind without him training it. This also made everyone and his father realize that Kaiden was going to be a powerful Mage, nobody knew that the reason for the massive burst of his power was because "The World" giving him assistance and his past life's mind helped its power. Though Kaiden now had a headache, not as bad as before thankfully, the reason being, "The World" helping him and using more of the Mage Mind's power that he did not fully have.
As he and Liam started walking, after Liam's and everyone else's surprise, Kaiden felt a stronger form of jealousy on him. When he looked toward the one giving that off, he only saw his older brother looking at him furiously.
'I truly hope you do not do anything stupid, for your sake at least, brother.' Kaiden thought before entering a room with his father.
When the door shut behind Kaiden, all of the pressures and stares stopped. It was only him, his father, and an older woman in the big room.
The woman had beautiful, long, golden-red hair. Her hair was illuminating most of the room along with it floating in the air. Although her eyes were closed he could feel her piercing stare and how firey it was.
"This is your great aunt, Maria. She is in charge of the training hall for all of the Gremmen family members and even the guards for the castle. Try not to get on her bad side Kaiden." Liam warned.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, aunt Maria, you are looking quite lovely today and firey." Kaiden tried to use some of the charms from his past life but it failed.
"Flattery shall get you nowhere with me, young one." Maria finally opened her eyes slowly and her beautiful golden-orange eyes focused on Kaiden, he immediately felt trapped unable to move as she scanned him with her piercing gaze.
"My, my, you really are quite the prodigy. A level 1, Bottom Middle Tier body and Level 1, Bottom Low Tier, Mage Mind." Maria continued, "Not only that, your Mage mind is quite durable! It even looks as though you have more room for the sea than noraml for otherson your stage!"
Surprise could be seen on both of the two's faces when she said those last words. Kaiden, of course, had no idea what they were surprised about nor the cause for it.
'So they use Levels and Tiers to rank everyone on where they stand? That makes sense, I am still curious how they put them together.' Kaiden was thinking about the Levels and Tiers she said he had.
"So, Miss Maria, what are Levels and Tiers, what do they represent, and how do we put them together?" Kaiden asked with pure curiosity leaking from him.
"Ah, I guess I should explain it to you." Maria thought out loud. "Levels are essentially where the mage stands, for instance, I am a Peak Level 4. This means I am at the very edge of Level 4. Here soon I will be at Level 5. Tiers are similar but are just to tell where a center of powers stands."
Maria continued to explain to Kaiden, "When we look at your father, he is a Level 3 Mage. His body may be a Level 4, Low Middle Tier, but his elemental organ is only in the Level 3 area. Even his Mage Mind is at Peak Level 3. We only consider the elemental organs the rank of a mage, however, that doesn't mean you should lack on your Mage Mind and body. If your Mage Mind is at a lower level than your elemental organs, then it uses more of the Mystic Sea in your Mage Mind. Your body could also fall apart because of the high-level magic being expelled from you."
'I see, that explains a lot, but what was she talking about earlier? She said she saw inside it. does that mean anyone can!?' Kaiden had worried thoughts that his potential enemies could see how low his prowess was.
"You said earlier that you saw inside my Mage Mind, right? I assume I can see inside it too considering it is mine. I want to ask if others can also see inside it?"
Maria looked at Kaiden and smirked before explaining more, "Yes, I will teach you how to do so. You must concentrate on yourself and look for it. It will come easy since you are already at Low Tier. To answer the other question, No, my Mage Mind is powerful enough to look into yours, especially when you do not have any defenses for it.
'Concentrate and look for it? What a half-assed way of explaining it.' Kaiden snorted to himself after her explanation on looking into the Mage Mind.
Though he listened to it since he was too excited to see it. When he sat there and looked into himself he felt there was something, but he couldn't get to it.
'I feel it, come to me, you are a part of me after all!' Kaiden demanded the Mage Mind to appear for him as if it was sentient, and to his surprise, it appeared. 'Woah, I did not expect it to appear, I thought it would take me a bit longer as well. I must say, this is quite beautiful.'
Kaiden saw a small island that looked like it was sand, but he saw it was surrounded by a large area of crystal-like water, though it looked a little shrunken, he guessed it was from the training hall fight he had. He saw he was in a dome-like area as well, This made him think he was inside his head.
'I guess this is supposed to be similar to my mind? It would explain why it looks like I'm in one.' Kaiden chuckled to himself.
Kaiden started to float towards the walls of the Mage Mind to see if he could do anything to them. When he arrived at them he didn't see anything special about them, though he knocked on them and he felt a sensation run through his head.
'So don't do crazy shit in here, I got it.' Kaiden could tell that if he messes around while in this state of being inside his Mage Mind it would end with him having cracks like last time, only a different reason for them.
Soon he turned his attention to the island and floated towards it, before landing on it and looking around. As he was looking for anything special, the island started to change the way it looked. The tan-ish sand changed to bloody black sand and formed a large black throne. Kaiden couldn't hold back his smile when he saw that.
