Kaiden was sitting alone in his room with larger holes than before to gather more Elemental Air into his body to strengthen it. He was completely focused on his task but was solving certain problems in the back of his mind.
Before he was completely healed a heavy pressure invaded the room as an old man floated above the gory Kaiden.
"Hmm, increasing the amount of Elemental Air entering your body is a quite dangerous young one." The patriarch warned. "Though it is quite effective, it wouldn't be an unorthodox technique if it wasn't already dangerous after all."
Kaiden just nodded his head in agreement while putting more focus on not fainting from the press and healing.
"You are quite a workaholic, that is very good. It means you have the determination to become powerful. You were even to hurt yourself to use that technique!" The patriarch declared with a little excitement.
"I just know you shall be a great patriarch for this family when you are a higher level!" His excitement gaining weight!
"Oh right, here you are." The patriarch said laying a big book on a clean patch of the floor next to Kaiden. "This is the book left to us by our family God. Before he left for the next realm he left us many things such as books of this planet, techniques, Elemental techniques, riches, and much more."
"So Kaiden, I ask you to study this book, not everyone has the ability to use runes, Some must invent techniques to even create a way to make them." The patriarch spoke with pride towards his power, before finally leaving.
'What a pain," Kaiden immediately thought finally being able to think after putting all of his focus on his body to keep it stable.
Kaiden couldn't help but sigh, finally healed, not dealing with a cocky and power-loving patriarch.
'I don't want to be a damn patriarch, I am going to be a God!' Kaiden thought with intense pride! 'Hmm, Runes are what healed me, aren't they? I might as well look at and study them to see if it would help my power.'
Kaiden decided it could add benefits to study that way of power as well, while he was looking at the Level 2 Mind Rune.
Kaiden grabbed the book, after finishing going through a headache from using the Mind Rune for six hours, and started to read.
"'Runes were once built on the idea of what the creator wanted them to be, of course not everything could be helped or made with just a rune. This was just how Runes were, yet one man was able to invent a new way to create Runes which is still not understood as to how he was able to create Runes for everything he had done on the Mortal Plane. We have only learned how to create automation with runes not long after he left. I severely doubt anyone will reach the level of that Mage.'"
'Really? That's all the Gremmen family member, that became God, could understand of that guy? How pathetic.' Kaiden couldn't help but be disappointed in someone who became a God.
"'Runes are created through the Element they use, the materials, the will, and the level of the creator themselves.'"
'I feel there should be more than just that. I will just test more theories for myself." Kaiden decided while reading about the many different types of Runes throughout the book.
'The God of the Gremmen family seems to be a bit incompetent when detailing, but this will work for me.' Kaiden was excited about the power he might be able to obtain with runes.
Kaiden sat in the room and read the huge book about runes while he trained his mind and body.
Eventually, Kaiden came outside of the room after two months. When he came out he didn't linger long and asked a few servants to clean the room and to prepare a nice hot bath for him.
As he was heading toward the bathing area his father stopped him in his tracks to talk.
"I think it is time we go on a hunt. I assume you have read about the types of beasts we can run into?" Liam asked Kaiden, hoping he didn't fall short of his training and studies.
"Of course, Father, I have gone through the books back and forth when waiting for my body to be in peak condition to train again," Kaiden answered, throwing a hunt of his boredom in there.
His father just sighed at Kaiden's want for more before nodding and letting him go to the bathing area of the castle.
Kaiden arrived in front of the male side of the bathing area and entered to see three servants there.
Two of the servants were filling the massive bathtub with water using their water Elemental Organs. The third one was using fire to heat it up. They then bowed toward Kaiden and left him to do as he needed.
Kaiden got in the warm and relaxing bath and immediately got lost in his thoughts.
'There just has to be more than what meets the eye when it comes to making those runes. maybe I should ask for some beast materials and test anything that comes to mind.' Kaiden continued to think about the subject before losing himself in the relaxation of the hot bath.
When Kaiden got eventually got out of the bath he was getting dressed and saw himself in the mirror.
'I think this is the first time I looked at myself in this world. I can say I look better than when I was Jay, but not as tone or built like that body yet.'
Kaiden could see his bright golden eyes, his long and fluffy golden hair, his sharp looks, and his lightly tanned skin, and when he looked again he saw some red in his beautiful golden eyes.
'It seems no matter who I become, red and black follow my path.' Kaiden chuckled to himself at his joke but he knew it was the truth.
Once he left the bathing area, after cleaning himself, he went to his father however it did not go according to his plan.
"You want beast parts for testing? If you want beast parts, earn them in the Hunt tomorrow!" Liam strictly scolded Kaiden.
Kaiden understood why he was told that, but it didn't make him any less annoyed. Still, he left to train until the next day for the hunt.
As the next day arrived Kaiden was awake and already staring at his Level 2 Mind Rune when his father came to wake him. When his father saw that, annoyance filled his face as he scolded Kaiden. Though Kaiden simply replied by storing it and following his father to the castle gates.
Once they got to the gates his father started running which left Kaiden confused before he decided to run after him.
"Why are we running exactly? shouldn't a carriage do well enough?" Kaiden asked Liam.
"Well, seeing as you got your body to Level 2, Peak Tier, I figured you should train it a bit more and we also run way faster than any carriage." Liam ended, laughing a bit before running a bit faster to make Kaiden catch up.
They ran for hours not stopping until they were miles away from the village and deep into a Forrest with massive trees with roots sticking out and wiggling from time to time.
"Careful, these trees use that as bait to suck you of your nutrients. the wiggle is hypnotic to newborn animals and confusing to us. What confuses us makes us get closer to understand their nature and that's how it would get us, from what the old stories of them say." Liam both warned and informed Kaiden.
'I didn't need a history lesson, but that is interesting that we humans constantly fell for it.'
"Well, here we are, my son." Liam pointed out after stopping in his tracks.
Kaiden looked around before he noticed a small family of horned wolves guarding a cave entrance.
"Do you know what they are?" His father asked.
"Charged Horned-Wolves, They are quick but weak. They make up for their weakness with numbers. They have the Lightning Element."
"Good. Now go." As Liam gave the command Kaiden slid down the hill they were standing on to attack.
Kaiden's eyes sharpened as he started to concentrate. He had many things he wanted to practice after all and these guys were his perfect dummies.
Kaiden went to grab his sword when he realized he never made one nor did he have his old one from Earth.
'That old bastard didn't even give me one either!' Kaiden thought as he looked back at Liam who had his chin up. 'Welp, I am sorry wolves, but you guys are going to have to suffer a bit.'
Kaiden was already so close to them so he committed to the attack. He threw his hands on the first wolf's horns, picked it up, and slammed it on its back killing it.
'I'm glad these are level 1's then, else I would be in trouble.'
The other four wolves immediately began their attack and combined their lighting but Kaiden is an experienced fighter who was already smiling.
He jumped over the wolves before the lighting left their horns and landed on one of their backs and slamming their horns into the eyes and out the top of the skull before snapping its neck.
The other two were preparing the next offense on this murdering intruder but they met a similar fate as the other two.
'Well, time to clear the cave then.' He said while his bloody hands were at the back of his head and walking it.
Liam watched that scene with a smile and sat down to wait for his son to clear the whole pack.
Hour after hour passed, but he wasn't phased, then a week passed and Kaiden never left.
"What the hell is that boy doing?" Liam said out loud.
Liam decided Kiaden was taking his time to learn more about clearing packs and let him be. Yet, another week passed before Liam shot into the cave furious and worried.
His Level 4 body made him seem faster than any animal people would see.
As he was flying through the large cave he saw destroyed body parts and weird markings made by a human, this made him more worried. He increased his speed more until he reached the end where he couldn't believe his eyes.
He felt the pressure of a dead Level 3 wolf! He also saw a small boy covered in blood with huge cuts, bite marks, and black spots showing that lighting had hit him in multiple spots.
Though that was shocking, he was more shocked by the weird and uneven object in Kaiden's hand who was looking at it as if his life depended on it.
"Kai-" Liam tried calling to him but was cut off by Kaiden's finger flashing up and slowly going to his mouth.
After that motion, Kaiden put the weird object up to his head.
As he did that it started to disappear into his forehead and at that moment his father realized it was a rune. Once the rune disappeared Kaiden started to scream and laugh at the same time before passing out from exhaustion and pain.
Liam ran up to see if he could stop the process but it was too late. He just hoped it wasn't something that would hurt his potential and picked him up and started to run home.
Kaiden woke up for a few moments and checked his Mage Mind to see if he made his theoretical rune worked. When he opened his Mage eyes, he smiled as his Mind's walls were black and tougher than before and he was able to think as quick as lightning flashing.
'Looks like I'll just need time to see if it will progress as I wanted it to, if not I can always make a different one.' He ended with a smile before passing out.
