Chapter 16 - SHE IS FISHY

Sedna opened her eyes in the water and found herself being able to breathe normally just like on the land. She looked at her body and found bluish scales envelop it completely and felt her hips and legs tingle. She looked down and what she saw made Sedna's mind completely blank. She was utterly shocked watching bluish shining scales glowing as her legs were nowhere to be seen. Her legs somehow became like a fish's tail and all in all, she became a mermaid.

"Am I a mermaid?" she thought.

The realisation made Sedna dumbstruck and she just let herself sink into the water. She was still sinking deep into the waters, her mind completely numb when she felt a strong arm around her waist.

She looked through her now changed whitish locks and found Vulcan staring intently into her eyes.

She looked down showing him her newly formed tail, her eyes glistening with tears.

Vulcan grabbed her waist and brought her closer to him. He then swam upwards bringing them both to the surface. He saw everything from the above and saw her becoming a mermaid too. What shocked him the most is her hair changing into white colour. It was somewhat similar to the woman in his dreams, but there are no blue coloured strands here.

He brought them both to the surface and held her tight.

"Shhh!! Don't cry!! We will find out what is happening?" Vulcan consoled her softly when he heard her cry.

"I.....I.... don't know...wha..what's going on!" Sedna stammered with tears flowing from her eyes continuously.

Vulcan sighed and hugged her, " Hmm. We will find out everything, ok?" he brushed her wet whitish locks with his fingers slowly, consoling her gently.

His gentle soothing voice calmed her frantic heart and soon she fell asleep in his embrace tired.

Vulcan heard her soft breathing and brought her to the shore nearby. He was not surprised when he saw others waiting for them there.

Cara immediately ran into the water when she saw them coming near. She gasped when she saw Sedna in a mermaid form. Gabriel also frowned looking at Sedna whereas Roose, Sirena and Olen had myriad expressions dancing on their faces.

Their abnormal behaviour didn't escape from Vulcan's eyes as he looked at them coldly.

"Gab! Bring those three along with us." Vulcan said coldly and Gabriel nodded. Cara gasped again when she saw Sedna's tail disappear along with her scales when Vulcan brought her out of the water.

Sirena pursued her lips and looked at Sedna as strange helplessness flashed in her eyes.

"Must you go through all that again?" she sighed in her heart and went along with others.

SEDNA'S CHAMBER.

Sedna is currently sleeping on the cot in the chamber whereas everyone else was standing outside the chamber. Cara has changed Sedna into new clothes and stepped out of the chamber only after making sure that Sedna is comfortable.

She felt the tension in the air as soon as she came out of the chamber.

"She is sleeping," Cara announced softly.

Vulcan nodded his head and turned his attention to the priest and the people along with him.

He narrowed his eyes at them. "Will you guys start talking?"

"What is there to talk? We just happened to see her there. That's it!" Olen said calmly while Roose rolled his eyes internally.

"What does that bastard think of himself?" Roose scoffed in his mind and ignored Vulcan.

Vulcan looked at the old priest and smirked," You guys think I can't sense your disguise?? How naive!"He then turned to Olen and raised his brows.

Sirena narrowed her eyes and said calmly, " So what if you know?" Now that he knew, there's no way she would back down either.

"Whatever we do, just know that she needs us more than anything else right now!" Sirena said calmly.

" If you guys really meant her good, there's no need for you guys to disguise yourself." Vulcan scoffed.

Gabriel also looked at Olen and scoffed, " If you really want a disguise, at least use your brain. Even my dog could say that it's you. Olen! Huh!! You think I can't identify you?"

Olen rolled his eyes at Gabriel and ignored him while Sirena sighed and closed her eyes to cast a spell.

She opened her eyes and all their original forms appeared before them.

Cara raised her brows looking at the new faces. She sighed dreamily looking at Roose's real face. Roose looked like a Greek god in the modern world. His face is beautifully pale white like a vampire.

"Gosh!! How can he be so beautiful? Cara is still drooling over Roose's beauty in her mind when she suddenly felt a chill down her spine. She turned her head and saw Gabriel glaring at her with his ash-grey eyes.

She rolled her eyes at the green eyes monster and looked away."Hmph! That jerk!" She scolded him in her mind.

"Can I know why your girlfriend seemed to be not so surprised looking at all these things?" Olen asked Gabriel suddenly surprising everyone. Gabriel narrowed his eyes when Cara guiltily avoided looking at him.

All of them turned towards Cara and thought. Yes! Why is she so casual about all these things? How can a human not freak out in such situations? They were still thinking when they heard Sirena speak.

"You guys couldn't even see her real form. Did you guys lose your vigour as time passed?"

Sirena scoffed and turned to Cara facing her,

"And you! Till when are you going to run away from your responsibilities?" Sirena asked making the latter narrow her eyes.

"Till I die!" Cara whispered. There is no way she is going to accept that nonsense. She would rather die than become what she feared the most. Yes! A monster! That's what she had to become for those damned responsibilities. She doesn't want to become a monster. She doesn't want to kill anyone. Cara frowned at Sirena when she felt the changes in the latter.

Gabriel also frowned at the sudden blood lust and was about to go near Cara when Vulcan held his hand. Vulcan shook his head softly indicating him wait and see.

They turned their heads to Sirena who is the source of the blood lust and found her glaring at Cara.

Cara also glared at her equally as if she is hell-bent on standing on her words.
