"Professor Ceida, I've brought Mr. Geit." The receptionist bowed to the professor and quickly left.
"You look familiar, " said Professor Ceida as she walks towards me.
"Met, but not acquainted. I was at the college entrance exam last week."
"Why would a person of your stature be there?"
"I took the exam."
"An old hermit like you don't need attend such matters, right?"
"Maybe because I'm not an old hermit."
"Your quite humorous. The study of ancient civilization takes a lot of time to master, especially their language. It wouldn't be impossible to find a way to revert back your youth with how much secrets the fallen races have kept." Saying that she gazed at me up and down. "It looks like you where successful in that matter."
Knowing that she wouldn't believe me if I told her the truth, I brought her attention to the reason why I was here. "Can you show me around?"
"Yes. As you can see we have most of the knowledge found in the Ruins of Cangmir."
She began to introduce the function and importance of the research centre. She also informed me of the breakthroughs from the research and how it helped in technological advances.
After that she brought me to the part of the facility which held all of the books gathered from the ruins. The archives where not as deteriorated as I thought it would be. The papers were still crisp and the prints were clear.
"This will be your office. This whole archive is at your disposal. You have a personal computer on which you can use. You are not complied to work on a daily basis, but it will surely help us if you could translate as much as possible. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time and please let me know if you need any further information."
"I'm fine."
"Good. Then if you need me I'll just be upstairs." Saying that she goes back to her office.
Left alone, I started looking for anything that held the last events before the fall. I spent an hour skimming through the titles but couldn't find anything related, so I thought I'd better work on something useful.
I grabbed a couple of books related to the use of the race's language. The three books were named; "Ynquish for idiots," "The Power of Words," and "Beginner's Artifact Inscription."
They where small books which I could probably finish translating in a day. I planned to work on this overnight so I'd get a whole week off. This three books more than enough for them to study in a week. It would also take them a month to experiment with before they could get a working product.
****
Early the next morning, I had finished translating all three books. The sun hasn't risen yet and all the other researchers had left home and hasn't come back yet.
I placed the printouts and their respective books in separate envelopes. After leaving them on Professor Ceida's desk, I left. I arrived home and found everyone still asleep, so I also took my well-deserved rest.
That afternoon, after lunch, I went back to the ruins and started grinding alone.
I was still at bronze one and the energy gauge was only a tiny bit up. The grind was a little bit easier since the animated foes were bronze nine, so I got a lot of energy from the kills. Previously, it was only Gles who was killing them so I received no energy from that.
I was rushing through the ruins atop the White Knight's Steed sending Thunbull Stampede at every Animated I saw. I never turned back to see if I killed off my target. I only know that I took a foe down when cards came flying at me from behind. After draining my MP I would take 25 minutes to fully regenerate and I would begin my rampage again. The spawn rate was quite high so didn't have to worry about running out of targets. After four runs around the city, I took out my grimoire and dumped all of the cards to the store. I got 1.6 million card points. That's equivalent to one random diamond and six random gold cards. On a different note I could also buy a silver rank job or a gold rank art. This would solve my problem of having an incomprehensible martial art.
Choosing between the two, I decided to go for a silver rank jobclass. My current one was pretty much the same as not having one ever since Being Y messed with the results.
After the ever present flashy animation, I got the card.
[PALADIN OF MYRIAD GODS]
RANK - SILVER
TYPE - CLASS CHANGE
[Pray upon the gods and they will grant you a one-time-use card. Can only be used once a day.]
"What the hell!?" I shouted out. "F**k you Being Y."
I began to curse him and his forefathers. He was literally messing with me. This has almost the same use as the other one. Only it got a lot worse and became a once a day ability.
After convincing myself on how I only have to pray once a day, I began to calm down. With the flick of a hand the card vanished and my jobclass changed.
After I saw the change, I decided to try it out. I unmounted and knelt on one knee.
"To the gods above, I pray. May your blessings be upon me and guide me through the day."
The moment I opened my eyes a shower of lights fell before me and a card materialized then slowly floated down. I grabbed it and began to read the description.
[GODLY MOUNTAINS]
RANK - NONE
TYPE - CONSUMABLE
[The gods have been watching you. They were pleased by performance and decided to grant your wish. Use this item on a target to permanently grant upon them a pair of Peach Mountains.]
"The gods have heard my prayers! From this day forth, I will be your devout believer!" I blurreted out loud.
With this card I no longer have to complain about the flatness of someone. Yes, I don't deny it. Whoever said flat is justice could go suck their fingers. They just couldn't accept the fact that they live in a country full of flat chested people.
In any case, I have the perfect gift to make up for not training with Gles this morning. Yes, she'll have to suffer the punishment of carrying peach mountains for the rest of her life.
Also, I still don't know what happened to the Salamandrake's Slime Essence.
