Chapter 11 - Chapter 10

It's finally friday!!! I can finally rest! I excitedly opened the door of my house and realized that someone was there.

"Fay?" Someone called and Skyler came to the door and greeted me.

I am shocked to see him here.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, shocked.

"Umm… cooking dinner?" He answered.

"You're cooking?! Do you even know how to cook? Wait, did you set my kitchen on fire?" I asked as I immediately ran to my kitchen.

My kitchen is in pristine condition. No smoke, no fire, there were no scattered plates even.

"Do you look down on me that much? I know how to cook, you know." He answered, looking amused at my reaction.

"I didn't know that's why I panicked." I replied, embarrassed with my reaction.

"You could have at least trusted me to not do something dangerous. Now, go to your room and get changed. I made pasta. Let's eat."  He instructed.

I followed his instructions and changed into my house clothes before coming back to my kitchen. He had already set up the table.

"What's the occasion?" I asked when I sat down.

"Did you forget what day it is today?" He asked curiously.

"It's May 22. Not your birthday and surely not mine." I replied.

"It's the anniversary of the first time we met." He replied while pouting.

"Really? I can't believe you remembered the day." I replied.

"I did and it seems like you didn't." He replied, still pouting.

He looks so cute. I can't believe he remembered what today is. This is why I can't help falling for this guy. He's just too darn sweet.

We ate our dinner. I have to say he's a great cook. This definitely is a plus point, I like men who can cook.

"How is it?" He asked nervously.

"It's good. I'm pleasantly surprised." I replied honestly.

"That's great then." He said as he sighed in relief.

"So when did you learn how to cook?" I asked.

"Since forever. My mom enjoys cooking. I grew up helping in the kitchen." He answered.

"Really? So you're a master chef?" I teased him.

"I can at least not burn down your kitchen." He replied and I laughed.

After eating I helped him clean up the table. We both decided to watch a movie.

"How long are you staying this time?" I asked.

"My flight back is tomorrow evening." He answered sadly.

"You seem really busy. Did you seriously come here just to celebrate our first meeting?" I asked, shocked.

"It's a very important day to me." He replied and blushed a little.

Well, it's an important day for me too. I got to meet him on this day last year.

"It has been a year already. Can you believe that?" I asked.

"Yeah, so many things happened this past year." He replied.

"Yeah, you released a hit song, won an award, got to act in a movie, prepare a full album,..." I said.

"And met you. That's the highlight. If I didn't meet you none of those would ever happen." He interjected.

"I like to think that it will still happen whether you meet me or not. You're talented in creating music, it's just a matter of time." I explained.

"But I met you and you made it happen now." He replied.

"Right. When will you release your full album? You do know I'm expecting a signed album from you." I said destroying the romantic atmosphere we had.

He sighed and took something from his bag and handed it to me.

"Did you release it already? Wasn't it going to be released next week?" I asked, surprised to see my signed album.

"It'll be released next week. You got yours earlier because you know the lead singer." He replied, annoyed.

"Yay! Thank you!" I said excitedly and hugged him.

I took my album and played their CD. I was really anticipating this album. I admit that I became a total fan of his music.

"Hey, we're watching a movie." He complained when I turned off the television.

"You weren't watching. I'm not watching too. Let's listen to my favourite band. I got an advanced copy of their album. I'm sure it's good." I told him and winked at him.

I saw him being shy. I played their music and we both listened.

"So what do you think?" He asked me after we finished listening to all 10 songs.

"I like it. Since the album is named blank canvas I'm assuming it's the title track. I like it. I like how you're telling the world that you're still starting. I know the song is not about your group but it gives that feeling that even though you've been successful with your previous single, it's not all you've got, like this is just the start, you know, like how it's said, you're still looking at a blank canvas." I explained.

"So I guess that's your favourite?" He asked.

"Actually, no. I like Polaris more." I replied.

"For some reason, I saw that coming. I wrote it for you. You're my Polaris." He said sincerely.

"That's funny because I'm sure you're mine." I replied with the same sincerity.

"Yeah. I'm yours." He teased me.

"Not what I mean. Let's go to sleep." I said

"Why? It's still early. It's not even 9 pm yet." He complained.

"I want to go see the sunrise tomorrow." I replied.

"Then let's not sleep tonight. Please. I only have less than 24 hours with you." He begged.

"What will we do? There's like 8 hrs before the sun rises." I asked him.

"Where do you plan on watching the sunrise? Let's go there now and wait." He suggested.

"Blue Moon River. It's nice to watch the sun rise there." I answered.

"Let's go." He said and I looked at him as if he's crazy.

"It's 9 pm." I said.

"Fine. How about we play a game?" He suggested.

"What game?" I asked.

"Truth or dare?" He suggested.

"With just the two of us?" I asked.

"That was a stupid idea." He answered.

"Let's watch a movie. There's this movie I have been wanting to watch but I have no one to watch with." I said.

"What movie?" He asked.

"The Lord of the rings. It's a trilogy. Surely we can finish it before the sun rises."

"You're kidding, right?" He asked.

"I'm not. I know it has been released since forever but I never really got to watch it." I explained.

"Why do you need someone to watch it with?" He asked.

"I saw some clips and there were monsters and stuff like that. I'm a scaredy cat. I'm not really good with thriller movies." I explained.

"But it's not a thriller movie." He retorted.

"Anything that has monsters in it is considered a thriller or a horror movie in my books." I explained.

He just stared at me like I grew another head. I ignored his reaction and started looking for the movie.

"Oh wait. Let's have some chips. Wanna have some beer?" I asked.

"No beer if you want to see the sunrise. Let's just have some soda or something." He said and followed me to my kitchen.

"It's a good thing I have snacks here." I said as I took out some chips and handed them to Skyler.

He opened them and poured them into a bowl. We both went back to my sofa and played the movie.
