Chapter 41 - Part 41

Regina said in a whisper that the receptionist couldn't hear.

As Regina entered the office,

Joel looked up from his desk, his brow furrowing slightly as he observed her.

"Mr. Rivers," Regina began, her voice smooth but laced with authority. "I trust you were expecting me?"

Joel leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms as he studied her. "And you are…?"

"Regina Vexar," she replied, a slight smirk tugging at her lips. "You might recognize the name.someone who knows how to get things done."

Joel's curiosity deepened. "Interesting. And what brings you here, Miss Vexar? How do you intend to help me… 'put down' Canary?"

Regina stepped closer, her eyes narrowing as she leaned over his desk.

"You want control of Andersons Group, don't you? You want to dismantle everything Canary has built everything his family holds dear."

Joel's jaw tightened, but he nodded, intrigued.

" Have a seat !" Joel walked Regina to the parlor and they sat down.

" I see, You are very beautiful and young lady. Why would you want to ruin Canary ?"

" Because I believe I am the only one who can ! " Regina said with assurance making Joel look at her with questions.

" When you are going to fight someone, You need their most intiment enemy." She stated.

" What do you mean ?" Joel asked.

" I dated Canaru for three years. That means I know his weaknesses and strength." She said and Joel listened.

"Because I want him to regret what he did to me," she replied icily, "and to my sister."

"Your sister?" Joel asked, confused.

"Camilla Vexar," Regina said, her tone cutting. "He broke her heart and humiliated her. He played with me too, but I don't let things slide."

Joel's eyes widened in realization. "Camilla is your sister?"

Regina smirked. "Now you understand. Let's make him pay, together."

Joel's lips curled into a sly grin. "You've got my attention."

" But if I'm going to help you, I need access direct access to Canary. Get me a job at Andersons Group. Something close enough to him so I can dismantle him from the inside."

Joel chuckled, impressed by her audacity. "You're ambitious, Regina. I like that. Consider it done."

"Good," Regina said, her voice firm. "Then let's get started."

Regina left Joel's office with a satisfied smile, her heels clicking confidently against the floor.

She made her way through the hallways of Andersons Group, heading straight for Camilla's office.

Pushing the door open, she stepped inside without hesitation.

Camilla looked up, startled. "Regina? What on earth are you doing here?"

Regina's smirk widened as she closed the door behind her. "Surprised to see me, sister? Let's just say I've found myself a reason to stick around Andersons Group."

Camilla frowned, still processing. "You're working here now? Since when?"

"Since five minutes ago," Regina replied casually, walking over to the desk.

"Don't worry, Camilla. I'm here for a purpose. One that will benefit both of us in the end."

Camilla's confusion deepened, but before she could ask more, Regina leaned closer and added, "Trust me, sister. This will be worth it."

With that, Regina straightened up and walked out, leaving Camilla staring after her in disbelief.

That evening, Lisa walked into Canary's office, a folder in hand.

The golden glow of the sunset streamed through the large windows, casting warm hues across the room.

Canary looked up from his desk the moment she stepped in, his face lighting up.

"I've brought the completed designs," Lisa said, her tone professional as she placed the folder on his desk.

But before she could take a step back, Canary stood and walked around the desk, closing the distance between them. Without a word, he pulled her into a tight hug.

"I've been missing you," he murmured softly, his voice filled with warmth.

Lisa froze for a moment, caught off guard. Her cheeks flushed, but she quickly composed herself, glancing toward the door to ensure no one was around.

"Canary," she whispered, gently pulling back but not breaking away completely, "someone might see us."

He smiled, his eyes filled with affection. "Let them. I don't care. I just needed this."

Despite herself, Lisa felt her resolve soften as she looked into his eyes. " Everyone already knows we are dating. You don't know how it's being difficult for me." she said.

" Oh, I don't find any problem in that. There they well respect you " he replied, holding her gaze.

Lisa shook her head lightly, stepping back to regain her composure.

" You should worry about yourself. I don't want people to talk bad things about you." She said.

" Don't worry about me. All is well.."

" Alright then. I will leave." She said and turned she heard his voice again.

"Lisa," he called, his voice gentle, stopping her just before she reached the door.

She turned, her heart racing.

"Thank you," he said, his eyes lingering on her with unmistakable sincerity.

With a soft nod, Lisa left the office, her emotions swirling as she tried to suppress the smile tugging at her lips.

That evening, at home, Camilla cornered Regina in the living room, her arms crossed and suspicion in her eyes.

"Alright, Regina," Camilla began, "spill it. How did you really get the job at Andersons?"

Regina smirked, lounging on the sofa. "Simple. I used my beauty and charm. Joel Rivers couldn't resist."

Camilla's eyes narrowed, her tone sharp. "Regina, Joel is not a good man. You can't trust him. He's dangerous."

Regina waved her hand dismissively. "Relax, Camilla. I know exactly what I'm doing. Joel thinks he's in control, but I'm the one calling the shots."

Camilla sighed, her concern evident. "Just be careful, okay? I don't want you getting caught up in something you can't handle."

Regina leaned forward, her expression softening slightly. "Don't worry, sister. I've got everything under control. Trust me."

Camilla didn't look convinced, but she nodded reluctantly and walked away, leaving Regina alone with a satisfied smile.

' Don't worry Sis, I will make him pay !' She vowed.
