It all started the day we all heard Gods' voice. I was in my room at the time, and my roommate was in the living room watching tv. On my way towards my door is when it all went hell. There was a big boom, and I fell over on the floor. Luckily I couldn't go near any hard furniture and fell halfway on my bed as I walked by.
When I came too, it felt like my head was spinning. But as the dizziness was easing up, that's when I was hearing all the commotion going on outside—looking from the third-floor window of my apartment. I saw it seems straight out of horror movies. Zombies chased and killed everyone they saw, vehicles on fire from all the crashes, and buildings burning because cars crashed into them.
Seeing all the mayhem going on outside, I turned around and went to my door, calling Samantha at the same time. I soon as I opened it I saw what used to be my best friend coming towards me. Her skin was a grayish color, with dead soulless eyes, skin hanging from her face, and blood with fur in it coming from her mouth.
When I saw the white fur, I knew it was our cat Snow Flake that the zombie had eaten. I rolled to the side and ran to Samanthas room, and locked the door because I was too scared to go back to my room. I survived the first-day hold-up in the room, feeding on Samantha's snacks and drinks. After a day, the snacks were gone, and I knew I needed to get into the kitchen to get more food.
Putting on Samanthas clothes and getting her baseball bat from her closet, I slowly open the door. Peeking out, I see the zombie wandering around the living room. I slowly opened the door and sneaked towards the kitchen, only to be startled when I saw the half-eaten cat behind the couch.
As soon as the zombie heard my scream, it came after me at once. Startled, I fell on the floor backing up, and when the zombie finally got around the couch, I was getting to my feet. By the time I looked up, the zombie was up on me already. I closed my eyes and swung the bat as hard as I could.
Bang!
The zombie drops to the floor with its jaw broken from the hit. Still scared because it wasn't dead yet, I swung down on its head as hard as I could and killed it. That's when I saw the system for the first time, giving me another shock.
That's when I learned of mana and the element that I have an affinity to, ice. After my adrenaline calmed down, I threw up all the snacks I ate yesterday. Covering Samanthas zombie body with a sheet and pulling her out to the porch, I finally felt of f****d up this world has become.
After learning all about using the system and getting something to eat, I finally was able to go back to my room. The first thing I did was call my parents only to learn that the phone wasn't working.
I started to practice with my ice element after giving up the idea of going outside because I was weak. I practiced for a few days and learned some skills along the way. That's when I packed up and was planning on finding you now that I had the hang of using the skills I created.
I thought I was strong, but when I met some of the higher-level zombies and the evolved ones, I quickly understood I was wrong. After that, I went to kill all the zombies in my apartment building slowly. That took two days, and I thought I was ready for the outside world.
That's when you and Joe found me in way over my head after I made a touch spot for myself with the noise. More and more zombies kept coming, and that's when I noticed those zombies with massive bodies and long claws.
I thought I was done for, but then you came with that substantial white wolf and that pink-haired fairy. And here we are in each other's arms, truly fated."
After listening to Michelle's story, I knew she went through a lot. I held her tightly and measured her that everything would be ok. I also asked about no she interacts with her system because I felt that it was the same as Joe. At the same time, I can hold conversations with mine.
"System, why is it that it seems that everyone else experiences with their system is different from mines?"
"Host, Your system is unique, and your level is not high enough to reveal this information to you at the moment."
"That sounds weird, but ok because I can't do anything about it anyway."
Coddling with Michelle in my arms, I tell her my story and how I ended up with Joe. Of course, I didn't the her that I came looking for Joe first. I told her that we had met up while I was on the way to my mother's house.
Joe came in soon after and told her about his experience and how I ended up saving him in the end too. Michelle couldn't believe how strong I became and that the giant wolf with me was my pet dog, Crystal.
She was even more excited to find out that Sakura came from a plant. When I tried to take her into the space pendent, I was a little surprised because she went in. I didn't know that her feeling for me was so strong, but you have to remember that they have to have 100% loyalty to me to enter.
After she saw everything inside and I told her about my plans and goals, the first thing that came to her mind was she would be a queen.
"Hahaha"
"Dwayne, you have found yourself a crazy but loyal one here."
Coming back to the gas station, we ate and planned to stay there for the night before we continued our journey out of the city.
