Slowly opening the door, I peeked out and made sure no zombies were nearby.
"Thank goodness; I thought they were out here having a get-together the way the other one ran up to my door."
Motioning to Crystal to follow me closely, we headed next door to the current vacant apartment. My uninvited guess once occupied this space living alone. I gently pushed the already opened door wider, peering into the home. I moved cautiously to make sure there was no one else inside. I checked all of the rooms finding nothing but the previous owner's belongings. I closed the front door slowly, trying my best to make the least amount of noise. The quieter, the better, considering the zombies are attracted to noise. I made my way towards the second neighbor's door to see if anyone was home. Using the knuckle of my middle finger, I knocked three times.
"Grrrr" was the sound coming from the other side of the door. I looked down at Crystal as I hicked my joggers up onto my waist.
"Crystal, be ready."

I kicked the door as hard as I could, forcing it open. The zombie that stood behind the door got knocked to the floor from the force. "Go, Crystal!" I yelled as we rushed towards it before it had a chance to get up. Crystal hopped on top, immediately going for his neck. I, on the other hand, drew out my katana, stabbing its face. One good stab, and it stopped moving, but just to be sure, I stabbed it once more. I released the grip I had on my katana leaning back on the door. Catching my breath as my heart rate slowed down, I decided to check my exp.

Feeling confused by the amount of experience I received, I checked with the system for answers.
"System wasn't I supposed to receive double experience?"

"Why wouldn't Crystal receive the same as me? She's my pet."

It's time I figured out my time and space elements. At the rate I'm going, I'll die before I complete my goal. We went back to my apartment before locking the door. I sat on my couch and tried my best to feel the mana in the air. This process went on for almost 10 minutes before I could feel some subtle energy around me. As I was feeling this, I was thinking about how I could speed the time around myself. I thought of a small layer of energy around the silhouette of my body. I made it smaller and smaller until the element was like a set of clothes that I wear. When it finally took my shape. I was relieved by the ping from the system.

Experimenting with my new skill, I finally got the hang of it. 'It seems that once it's become a skill, it becomes easier to use. Also, it has levels; I should be able to make it stronger in the future.' Dwayne thought.
Sitting back down, I concentrate, this time on my space element. Using Crystal as my test dummy, I try to lock the space around her. The mana control proved to be way more difficult than I first thought. It seems if I want to exert my mana on someone else, the difficulty increase. Instead of restricting her whole body, I tried one paw. It works out better. I limit the space mana on individual body parts. Once I fully secured her foot, I heard the sweet sound of achievement again.
