Chapter 21 - Eyes In The Dark

Tasia scratched her head that didn't itch. She was walking back and forth around her room.

'Is it true? If it's not, how would he know about my bruise? And how could he make this bruise hurt? Is this really his guilt? Or is this all just a coincidence? Could it be that he just happened to see it when I passed out or he peeked when I was changing into my gym clothes?! Then he used this bruise as material to terrorize me?'

All questions and possibilities appeared in Tasia's mind. Deep in her heart, she was sure that Hadyan is really the person behind all the odd things she had been going through. But again, Tasia's brain continued to deny with logic.

'Okay Tasia, you have to calm down. Now, think carefully. If it's true that this bruise is Hadyan's doing, doesn't that mean that I met him on the last vacation? Because obviously this bruise only appeared since I was lost in the middle of the sea. Even before I entered school or when I met him during the incident when he fell off the motorbike. Since the beginning, there was something strange with Hadyan, I felt like he was always after me. The incident when I disappeared and illogical came back, did it have anything to do with Hadyan?'

Hadyan returned to school. Miss Lensy was already waiting in the lobby and immediately called when she saw the tall teenage figure emerge from the lobby door. Hadyan approached, smiled, and nodded politely.

"I didn't know Tasia's house was that far away. How do you explain it, Hadyan?" she asked.

"Tasia's grandmother asked a few things to me, Miss. So, we chatted for a while. She was worried about Tasia." He explained.

"Her grandmother?" Miss Lensy repeated.

Hadyan nodded a little doubtfully. Did he say something wrong?

"What I know is Tasia's grandmother is suffering from senile dementia. Are you sure to have a chat with her? You're not trying to lie to me, are you?" She gave Hadyan a suspicious look.

Hadyan was surprised in his heart, but still trying to calm down "Ouh.. Haha.. No wonder our conversation was a little random. Apparently, it was because of that. But, I'm not lying, Miss. Tasia's grandma was surprised because she came home too early, so she asked me a few questions."

Miss Lensy finally nodded. After all, Hadyan wasn't too late. His explanation also makes sense and he doesn't seem like he was lying. "Okay. You can come in and continue your lesson. Thank you for helping to take Tasia back to her home."

"You're welcome, Miss." He smiled, then walked down the corridor to the classroom.

"Hadyan!" He turned when he heard a girl's voice shout his name.

"How is Tasia? She's fine right?" Marya walked closer to him. Couldn't hold back her question, even before arriving right in front of Hadyan.

Hadyan smiled, "Anastasia is fine. You don't have to worry."

"Ah.. Thank God! I'm very worried about Tasia. Moreover, you had to take her home. I thought she was really in a bad state. Miss Lensy said Tasia almost fainted and looked very weak. She even looked difficult to talk. She had never been that sick."

"Marya, calm down. Tasia is fine. She has arrived home safely and is resting now." Said Hadyan.

Marya nodded although there was still a worried look on her face. Hadyan smiled gently, "Tasia is very lucky to have a friend like you."

Hearing that, Marya immediately lifted her head which had been bowed down, then looked at Hadyan with a mischievous smile,e "Is that a compliment? Thank you."

"Yes. That's a compliment. You're very kind, you know that?"

Marya laughed widely while patting Hadyan's shoulder. He laughed too. "You are really like a prince from a dreamland." She said.

Marya straightened her back again, "Okay prince, thank you for calming me down. Now, this servant have to go back to class, before I was expelled by the angry teacher."

Hadyan laughed at Marya's chatter and funny behaviour, "Ok. I'll let you go."

Marya bowed gracefully in a royal manner while spreading her grey skirt with both hands, then walked away. Meanwhile, Hadyan still kept his eyes on the girl while smiling amusedly.

That night, Tasia had a strange dream.

She again saw herself drowning in the dark and cold ocean. She woke up with her whole body drenched in sweat and again, her body was wrapped in a blanket.

While groaning in annoyance, she freed herself from the wrap and the cold air from the room air conditioner instantly hit her skin.

'Cold!' She shivered.

BAM!

As if a boulder had hit her heart, Tasia froze for a moment when she saw the moonlight coming into her room through the window that she remembered she had closed with curtains before she went to sleep.

The bright light hit the wall of the room, right beside the ending of the bed. Not only that, there was a shadow of someone squatting in the middle of the window.

Tasia's body became stiff. Her eyes were wide open and unable to blink. She couldn't look at the window to see who the shadow owner was.

"Afraid?"

"Huh..!" Tasia choked to hear a question from a man's deep voice. She immediately looked towards the window because the voice she heard just somehow made her courage rise.

Hadyan smiled sweetly, his yellow eyes glowing in the darkness. His face was not visible because he had his back to the moonlight. Tasia didn't recognize him.

"H-help.." Tasia was about to scream but failed because Hadyan quickly jumped at her and covered her mouth.

Tasia tried to struggle and scream but failed. Hadyan pressed her body against the wall so that her movement was locked. She tried to kick him as hard as she could.

"Anastasia, calm down! It's me. It's me. Hadyan."

Tasia didn't respond, she kept struggling no matter what the man said. Actually, what Hadyan said does not enter her brain at all. She just thought that there was an evil demon who wanted to r@pe her.

Finally, Hadyan turned on the room light with his magical power. At that moment, Tasia could see Hadyan's face clearly and then stopped screaming.
