Chereads / The Prince Of The East Sea / Chapter 25 - Warmth

Chapter 25 - Warmth

How can a person open her heart, if it's covered with the stone wall?

Tasia built a huge and high circular wall after an accident that took her entire family life. Now, she was inside the wall. Alone, lonely, and cold.

Hadyan could smell it, smelled the agonizing pain. Now, he was thinking about starting to destroy the giant wall that Tasia had unknowingly built.

"How is the state of the kingdom?" Hadyan asked.

"Very well, Your Majesty. No sign of enemies or rebels." Answered his demon guards who came far from the palace. He was tall but has no face. Just like a black silhouette with big and long arms and legs.

"Good. I still can't go back to the kingdom. You, tell the commander-in-chief that I really need him to guard the kingdom at this time."

"Very well, Your Majesty." He bowed and soon disappeared into his own shadow.

Hadyan took a deep breath, he was now willing to abandon his own kingdom for the girl he loved. It was true what his mother said before, that the biggest weakness of men is women. Now, he felt it himself, but did not regret it at all.

For Hadyan, love is very beautiful and warm, more interesting and challenging than any war. Only love was able to make another side of him appears. The other side that even he thought never existed.

He stepped out of the room, down the stairs, and saw his fake mother cooking in the kitchen, "Mom, I'm going out. It wouldn't be long." He said for permission.

"I just made a cake, share it with your friends. You want to meet your friends, right?" His mother put a few slices of banana sponge cake in an orange lunch box.

Hadyan watched his fake mother carefully. The more he went through it, the more he realizes that the human world was not as bad as he had imagined, even much different from his own world. Here, was full of warmth and affection, where families share the care and know each other intensely. The more he thought about it, the more he thought of Tasia who lost her perfect family. It must be more painful than anything.

"Hey, son? Why are you daydreaming?" His mother snapped fingers in front of his face.

"Huh? Sorry, mom. I was thinking about something. I'll bring the cake, thank you." He said before walking out.

"Don't come home too late, son." Said the woman in the bob hairstyle.

"Yes, mom."

Tasia peeked through her bedroom window. There was Hadyan's figure in front of the fence, smiling and waving at her. Tasia returned the small wave. Then she quickly put on the grey jacket hanging behind the bedroom door and took a small step down the stairs.

Her smile bloomed as soon as she came out of the door, when she saw Hadyan who was grinning at her first. Hadyan's heart seemed to be fluttering because it was the first time he could visit his future wife home normally, without having to sneak into her room through the window.

"What are you doing here? If I hadn't happened to see the window, then I would never have known you were coming." Tasia said as she opened the fence and stepped outside.

"I'm afraid that if I call you, your grandmother will throw a tantrum again." He answered honestly with a small laugh.

Tasia nodded in understanding. "Today is Sunday, so my aunt took Grandma to the hospital for a check-up. You have a cell phone, right?"

Haydan nodded, and then took out a cell phone from the pocket of his black jeans.

Tasia immediately took the cellphone and typed something there, "This is my number. I've saved it with the name 'Tasia'. Next time, if there is a need, you can call me first. Don't suddenly come and wait in front of the fence like this. What if I didn't come out? Wouldn't it be a waste for you to come here?"

Hadyan received his phone back when Tasia returned it, he smiled very happily, "Then I will wait for you until you come out. Even if it's until midnight or tomorrow morning, I will still do it."

Hearing that, made Tasia sick and rolled her eyes in disgust. But still, she laughed at the snake prince's seduction. Because she knew, once Hadyan says one thing, he will definitely do it. So you could say it's not just a seduction.

"You won't let me in, will you?" Asked Hadyan in laughing. Tasia also laughed unhappily at the guy.

"I'm sorry, Hadyan. The problem is, my housemaid is a bit fussy. I'm afraid that by accident, she will slip up to Grandma." She explained.

Haydan nodded in understanding, "Shall we go to the park?"

"Park? That sounds good." She nodded in agreement.

Before going to the park, they decided to stop by their regular mini market to buy some drinks and snacks.

Hadyan stepped out after paying and thanked the cashier's girl.

He gave a bottle of cold orange juice to Tasia, who was sitting waiting on the bench in front of the same mini market as last night.

"Thank you so much," Said Tasia as she accepted the drink that her new friend gave. She really liked a cold sweet drink. Somehow, Hadyan knew about it.

"You're welcome," Hadyan replied as sitting beside her.

"It turns out that your grandmother is treated, huh?" Hadyan asked.

Tasia nodded, "Yes, she regularly takes medicine to relieve her senile dementia. But her condition is only getting worse. Grandma has a lot of thoughts. She was very disappointed to face the fact that her beloved child left before herself." She smiled sadly.

"I believe, your parents must be at peace in heaven. They have a very good daughter like you. You even love your grandmother very much despite what she often does to you."

"But I'm suffering here," She muttered.

Hadyan looked at her pityingly, "I won't let that happen for too long, Tasia. You can keep my words."

"Yeah, you managed to make me laugh now," Tasia quipped while laughing at the impossible and exaggerated sentence.

Hadyan also laughed at it, although as shaking his head annoyedly, because he felt belittled. He was serious about his words just now, but the girl couldn't see it.

Suddenly, Hadyan stood up and walked over to his motorbike to take the lunch box from the seat box.

"What's this?" Tasia received the lunch box.

"Cake. My mother made them." His hand took a piece of cake after Tasia opened the cover of the lunch box.

"Haha.. It's like a picnic huh..?" Again, the girl recalled her childhood memories. As a child, she often went on a picnic on the beach with her family during the holidays.

"Wow.. it tastes so good! Tell my thank to your mother, please." Tasia said while chewing the soft cake.

"Oh, really?" Hadyan raised his eyebrows, with a questioning look, then smiled, "I'll definitely tell her. Thank you."

While chewing, Tasia continued, "You said your mother made this. Is your mother.. really your mother? Is she a human? Or is she also a demon in disguise?"

"She's my adoptive mother here. Actually, they're just a childless couple. So I made them think I was their child."

Tasia looked shocked, "Then, what will happen to them after you leave?"
