Chapter 15 - Memory Or Hallucination?

I know I did the wrong thing. I can't believe her whole family had gone.

'I feel like, if something wants to harm me, then no one would come to help me.'

'Her words keep sounding in my head. I shouldn't have done that. I should have protected her, not scared her.' Hadyan moved restlessly. He waited for Prince Rangin, the one who suggested the crazy and stupid idea of scaring Tasia.

"What's wrong? Don't come here too often, your curse on that human girl could fade faster if you keep going in and out of the magical realm." Rangin said without further ado. A worried expression appeared on his face.

"You were wrong, big brother. I was wrong about her. Now, I know why she is always so overly frightened. I shouldn't have listened to your stupid advice!" He said, not caring about what Rangin said.

"What do you mean?" Rangin asked confusedly.

"Her family.. Her whole family died in an accident. Since then, she had become very coward. That night, I did what you suggested. And as a result, she cried in fear all night long." Hadyan sighed as continued his words, "We always make humans cry in fear. But this time, this human was different. She is my future wife. I loved her."

"You look frustrated, Hadyan. I'm sorry if my suggestion was hurting her. That's the only way I know, scaring humans or kidnapping them. But, are you sure you want to continue all this?"

"What?! I can't back down, Rangin! I already love her so much. I have to get Tasia for my own." He answered in anger.

"Okay.. okay.. But, you know what? With the news that your girl's family had gone, it seems to be an advantage for you."

Hadyan looked at him questioningly. Until Rangin took a breath and smiled a little.

Prince Hadyan, who always wins the wars, turns out to be so stupid when he is hit by love.

"You can take her easily later. Because she doesn't have anything she left behind in the human realm." Said Rangin.

Slowly, Hadyan smiled understandingly. He nodded happily at a beauty despite the harsh reality. Evil indeed, but don't forget what kind of creatures they are.

"Argh!!" Tasia shrieked in surprise when she felt a hot and painful sensation on the back of her waist.

That thing! The strange bruise from days ago.

Tasia immediately stepped into the bathroom which had a big mirror on the wall. She lifted her yellow t-shirt with a cartoon character, up to her chest. The bruises were still clearly visible, and this was the first time it caused her any pain.

The colour had faded a little from the first day she had seen it. However, the red bruise also got longer. She didn't know what kind of bruise it was. Tasia didn't want to bother her uncle and aunt by seeing a doctor. Because if it was a serious injury, it should have been reported by the doctor at the hospital when she was rescued on the beach that day.

'The bruise is getting longer. How could it be?' She thought worriedly.

But because the pain was only temporary, she chose to ignore it. Especially with the colour that has faded a bit, Tasia thought the bruise would heal and go away on its own.

"Eh.. Maybe it would be fine just wearing this t-shirt." She was still staring at the mirror, shrugging her shoulders.

She took her backpack and violin bag quickly. She chose to attend the tutoring class wearing only a homely yellow t-shirt and tight black jeans.

"I've chosen you. You must stay here with me. Eternal life."

"What?" Tasia asked aloud.

"W-who? W-w said that?"

But as she knew, nobody is in the room. Yes.. no one, especially a man. Even if somebody was talking behind the bedroom door, the voice couldn't be that clear.

Suddenly, the bruises on Tasia's back started to hurt again until she screamed in surprise. The pain, which was not so painful, was strangely able to make Tasia's head spin around in a daze until her vision became blurry.

She swiftly grabbed anything that could support her body that lost its balance. She leaned against her wardrobe that had up to ceiling tall. Her heart was pounding hard and her mind began to name the 'sill' unknown diseases she might be suffering. Lately, her body is very strange.

In her blurry vision and a state of confusion, some images appeared in her vision. The images that were a memory. The Memory and images resemble what often appeared in her mind. Memories of the joyful childhood. But this time, it was not the memory of her childhood that appeared, but a memory she had never experienced before.

The blurry and dim images showed a magnificent hall and Tasia was in the centre. There were many scary things in the hall. The things she was afraid of were ghosts or demons. Even though it was faint, she still knew that it was a mystical creature that surrounded her.

She felt the heat in her eyes and the tears flowed according to her fear.

It was just a memory or a hallucination perhaps. However, Tasia felt that her soul had shifted to a majestic hall filled with terrifying creatures. Even the damp air of the hall could make her skin shudder.

"Tasia! Tasia!" She looked for the owner of the voice that kept calling her name.

This incident was just a memory, of course, she couldn't move her body. Like a dream, it moves by itself according to the memory. Like she was playing rides in a playground, she was helpless but to follow the flow.

Suddenly, she felt a hand pulling her tightly. It made her vision darken, which turned out to be someone with a wide chest hugging her to cover her face. It eased her fears and made her feel safe.

'Who?' Tasia asked in her mind. She couldn't see this person's face.

Before she had time to guess, the person had already removed his arm and pulled Tasia's face. And slowly, her vision became clear again.

'Hadyan?!!'

Suddenly, Tasia was in the middle of a dark and vast ocean, floating deep there. She blinked in shock and panic, trying to hold her breath. However, she was able to breathe normally. Only her skin could feel the flow and cold temperature of the seawater.

She saw darkness on all sides of the ocean, horrific. There was nothing but the silhouette of something long and black, swimming in the distance and slowly disappearing into the darkness.

'What's that? Fish? Shark? Stingray? No... It looks like a giant snake.'

Then she felt something pulling her leg down rapidly.

She came back. The memories had disappeared like a serial drama. Just cut off without any continuation. Leaving her with a thousand questions and confusion in her head. With great fear and shock at what she saw and felt in the hallucination. She couldn't even scream in surprise.

'W-what is that? What happened to me?'

'Wait a minute... Hadyan? Wasn't that Hadyan? Have I gone crazy?'

She blinked again and again. In an instant, the pain, dizziness, and whatever else she had felt before had disappeared without a trace. Something she thought no sane human mind could explain.

Maybe if she ask the doctors, she wish they would have an answer.

**

'This is weird! Very strange! I knew there was something strange about that guy!'

'From the first time I met him, I was suspicious of him. But how? What if it turns out that I've actually lost my sanity? And because Hadyan is a new guy, it happens to be the target of my insane mind? Like in the movie that has a plot twist at the end of the story.'

Tasia thought hard uneasily. There were two fears in her head. First, she was afraid that Hadyan really had another dark side that couldn't be explained logically. Second, she was afraid that she is actually losing her sanity slowly. And all of that happened in a row after she had a banana boat accident at Scale beach. Maybe it's true, that her head accidentally hit a coral rock.

'After thinking about it, somehow it all makes sense. I survived after disappearing in that accident, don't even remember anything. These are all things that are impossible to happen. That's why people called it a miracle. Tasia thought.

'And could it be that they weren't hallucinations? But the memories of when I disappeared that time? The ocean... Yes, the ocean. And snake too.. Might it be that the snake I saw was the same snake I found in my room? Was it the snake that caused me to disappear?'

After thinking about it for a long time in bed, she decided not to go to the violin class. Tasia finally decided to investigate the strange things that happened.

But with one note. She would not tell about this bothersome thing to her friends. They often defended Hadyan. They would mock and think that Tasia was crazy just because of the little things she said. Especially, if she talking about this incident. They might immediately take Tasia to an asylum.
