Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

'This story is going to get extremely disturbing, a lot of fetishes will be featured, etc etc. Read at your own risk you degenerate'

Tristan was sitting on his chair, as he usually does. He was browsing reddit memes and looking for an anime to watch. He was quite a 'vanilla' guy, all things considered. He enjoyed Re:zero, he isn't ashamed to admit that he teared up more than once. That anime was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions for him. He also watched other anime, but in his 2 years of watching anime, he has never watched anything that was too 'ecchi'. The closest he's gotten was watching The Seven Deadly Sins. He remembers becoming a blushing mess, blood would always flow into his cheeks from anything remotely sexual, so when his friend Matsudo recommended some of the more 'ecchi' anime's, he had wanted to murder him for embarrasing him so much! Although that doesn't mean that he isn't interested… He's just too shy to actually watch that kind of stuff.

Anyways, Tristan was browsing for an anime when suddenly he felt like his head was splitting into tiny fragments, the pain was so intense that he spasmed and almost knocked over his drink onto his super expensive pc! He could barely think from the pain, but his only thoughts were 'Am I being attacked by a psychic beast? But how? I live in the center of a well guarded neighbourhood!' Those were his last thoughts before darkness surrounded him, his discord kept pinging but he did not respond, for he could not.

To explain, 25 years ago massive spatial cracks could be seen appearing in random spots around the world, the spatial cracks would more often appear near populated locations, cities and towns and the like. From these cracks would appear a variety of different monster species. At first it was manageable, small monkey sized monsters would come out, and get shot by the army.

Researchers were getting close to being able to close the spatial cracks in only a single year, but all of a sudden there was a massive ramp in difficulty, the monsters started getting bigger, and not only that, but bullets would no longer have any effect on these bigger and stronger monsters. They would simply bounce off, soldiers had to resort to using tanks, highly explosive missiles and sometimes even napalm. Of course using these new weapons had some rather undesirable consequences. The casualty rate ramped up from 19% to sometimes over 80%.

The monsters came in waves, these waves had no recognisable pattern of any kind, so humanity was often caught unprepared, and thus they made mistakes, lost lives and overall suffered a lot.

Scientists tried to figure out what was causing this change, but there was no observable reason. The best guess that they could come up was that there was some kind of timer in these spatial cracks. The more time that they took to close the rifts, the stronger the monsters would become with time.

The reason that the scientists could close the rifts in only a year was because of two reasons. There was an extremely urgent need to close them, so scientists worked without any slacking off, all scientists that had anything to do with physics worked on the problem worldwide, most information was shared with each other and this allowed research to progress at a neckbreak speed. The second reason was because the monsters themselves 'dropped' purple crystals upon their death. The corpse would slowly disappear and all that was left behind was the purple crystal, these purple crystals were ironically the only thing that kept humanity from going extinct. With these crystals new weaponry could be made, and more importantly, they had some sort of energy inside them, this energy was extremely vital in the closing of the rifts.

The government had also of course tried to send in recon teams, to try and exterminate the monsters from the source, but the cracks appeared to be exit only. There was no way to enter.

7 Billion people died in the year long skirmish between man and beast, the reason for so many deaths is that by the time the rifts were closed, monsters could only be killed by extremely deadly weaponry, most of the monsters were also almost the size of a warehouse. It was more common for them to be bigger than to be small.

But in the end humanity was victorious as they closed the spatial rifts across the world and ended the unending onslaught of monsters. Technology hugely advanced due to the sudden appearance of these rifts, and many new advances in technology were made. Many of which involved spacial properties. This was only to be expected after all. In the war, over half of humanity had perished.

And due to these unique circumstances there was a decision that was made, all countries would be demolished and united under one banner. This ended up being called the 'Commonwealth of man' act.

Of course there was still internal strifes, some countries were not willing to accept this, some countries wanted to incite rebellion from within, but those countries were handled with an iron fist, the world was an extremely unstable place after the war, so all rebels were executed with extreme prejudice, this would be later known as the 'Era of executions'. Many new laws were implemented, and many of the old ones were abandoned altogether.

One of these new laws was made in regard to the declining population due to the harsh executions and collateral damage, in order to raise the population a new law was invented, all males must impregnate at least one woman before the age of 30, or they would be 'forced to comply'. The same applied to women, they must give birth to at least one person before the age of 30. There were ways to become exempt from this new law, but those were far and few inbetween.

Anyways, that is the basics of a history lesson. After that the world went back to relative peace, industry started to pick back up and the second generation of children were born. But then another historical event happened. This second generation of children developed abilities, the weird thing was that all of them, without exception, would be some sort of offensive ability. No one found this strange, but historians look back today and can clearly see that this was foreshadowing. And foreshadowing it was.
