"My Lady... are you sure about this?" Bertha whispered as both women hid behind the wall.
They wore simple and comfortable clothes and tip-toed their way bare feet.
"Of course I am sure about this Bertha! Why do you think I am walking barefeet on the ground?" Theodora replied in annoyance.
"But what if somebody catches us?" Bertha voiced out her concern for the thirty-sixth time since the morning.
"Why do I have a best friend like you then?!!"
Bertha sighed. Wasn't it always like that? Theodora would pull out a stunt creating a ruckus and when it came to the blame part Bertha was her shield.
Although both Lord Ralph and Lady Cordelia were well aware of their daughter's habit, Bertha had received punishments on various occasions.
But it was all worth it in the end when Theodora apologised to Bertha and shared her punishments. Like the one time Theodora had freed all the horses free from the stable, Bertha took the blame on herself.
