Chapter 10 - - Mysterious boy

"Mom can we please go play in the woods?" a whiny voice sounded from a small child, about ten years old.

"Okay, but you need to be back before dinner is ready," the mom replied. She had seen this kid's behavior before: he wouldn't stop complaining until he got what he wanted, so it was better to just let him go as long as he was back before dinner.

"Yay!!! I'll be back before dinner!!" the kid yelled in excitement.

He loved playing in the woods. They offered him freedom and peace.

As he was walking into the woods he started humming a song, thinking to himself if he should build a stick hut, which was one of his favorite things to do.

His dad used to take him into the woods and show him how to build stick huts. However, his dad died last year and he just continued to build stick huts to remember him.

About an hour later, he had completed his stick hut, which was crudely constructed with some sticks, vines and leaves, but it would provide a bit of shelter from rain if need be.

It was about time for him to get back home for dinner, so he decided to go back.

As he was making his way back, the wind suddenly started to pick up, eventually becoming a small tornado.

However, as suddenly as this tornado appeared, it disappeared just as fast, and as soon as the wind dissipated completely, revealing a body in the center.

"What the heck? What just happened?" the boy mumbled to himself. What had just happened made no sense whatsoever; a tornado had appeared out of nowhere, and before the boy even got a chance to run away, the tornado had already disappeared revealing a young boy within it.

Since he was curious, he decided to approach this boy, however, as he got close, he saw that this boy seemed to be the most ordinary boy in the world aside from his blood red hair. He was a little tall for his age, but aside from that, there was nothing remarkable about him.

If the boy hadn't seen it himself, he would never believe that this boy appeared out of a tornado. Even he himself was having a hard time believing that he was not hallucinating.

He decided that, because of his young age, he wouldn't have the strength to drag the body back to his house on his own, so he decided to get his mother to help.

As he approached his house, he saw his mom, who called out to him saying, "You're here right on time! Dinner's ready!" however, she noticed that something was wrong when the boy didn't go inside right away. As he came close to her, she asked, "What's wrong? Did you find something in the woods?"

"Not something, *someone!*" he replied.

"There's a boy unconscious in the woods. I need your help to get him here!"

"What? Where?" the mom almost screamed, scared that her son had left an unconscious boy in the woods with no protection. She was scared that a beast might eat him, and that it would be her fault for not getting there quickly enough.

"Take me there now!!!" she yelled as she quickly started to run towards the woods with the young boy next to her.

As she approached the area where the boy had seen Daniel, she suddenly felt a small tinge of hope, but she couldn't find out why no matter how hard she thought.

When she finally saw Will, she felt that little bit of hope vanish, as she saw that Will was not breathing. As she moved next to him and placed her hand on his chest, she felt no heartbeat.

"Go back to the house and get Mr. Porter. I need his help to get him back. Tell him that this boy has died."

"He's dead?" the boy asked in disbelief. "But I saw him appear from the center of a tornado!"

"What???" this boy's mother knew her child well: he had never lied to her in his life, and why would he lie now that there was a dead boy in front of them?

"It's the truth! I was on my way back home, when a random tornado appeared, but before I had time to run away, it had already disappeared and that boy had appeared from the center of it!"

"Okay. We'll talk about it later. For now, just go get Mr. Porter please. I can't drag his body all the way home. It's too far.

"Okay!" the boy replied.

She was relieved to see her son leave, but now she had to worry about where this boy came from, and what was his story? How did he get here?

As she sat there, she suddenly noticed that Will body had no heartbeat or breath, but it was still warm and wasn't getting colder as time passed. This made no sense as this was a relatively cold area, and they usually had to wear at least a light jacket to keep warm.

She then figured that the fact of how he supposedly appeared, combined with the fact that his body was still warm even after all this time, that he was somehow still alive, although she had no idea how.
