Chapter 18 - Your powers

She turned and saw Hyde something to her but it wasn't intentional I..l... it was a mistake"she stuttered while he gave her a 'what is wrong with her' look.

"What did you do to your friend?"he asked."I struck her"she answered quietly . He lifted his eyebrows and looked at her genuinely surprised for the first time."What do you mean you struck her?" he asked.

"You have the time to listen to all the explanation I can give you but she doesn't have time she is very hurt ,why don't you see her? " she asked trying to fight her tears. "Let's go" he said.

Hyde looked at Helen and wondered what could have possibly happened. She wasn't in a life threatening situation but it was so strange that this had been done to her by Hilde. Apart from not knowing how to use this powers she wasn't supposed to use it like all her predecessors.

"She's going to be fine", he said after helping Helen down and healing her with his power. Hilde felt more relaxed than before, "what happened ?"he asked.

"I was just so scared and attacked her without intending to"she said quickly.

"Am I a police officer why do you keep emphasizing that you didn't do it purposely?"he asked. "I thought you'd be angry that I did this because you trained me", she said and was about to continue before she stopped "wait why didn't you tell me about this? You said I could only use weapons"

"Because it is true, for the ones I've seen before",

"Everyone can't be the same how can you base your beliefs on assumptions?"

Hyde looked at her more seriously this time. "You aren't supposed to use these powers, something must be wrong "

She was suprised by this remark, "why?, you can use both your powers and other weapons can't you?"

"You are not me".

At this she came to a conclusion that he was definitely bluffing. 'Seriously not you, what sort of lame excuse was that he could have thought of something better' .

She stood up and walked towards where Helen was lying still unconscious"I'm leaving now, and you have to start training me on how to use my powers so that I won't hurt anyone..... and even finish this whole thing soon"

"You want to learn how to control it now, weren't we busy with something before miss?"he asked

"Isn't it your watchword that the best time is the present? you were the one always in a hurry to quickly finish this" she paused as if thinking for a while then continued "or do you feel burdened suddenly?"

Hyde looked indifferent as she tried to carry her friend, but he had a lot going through his mind 'what could be going on?' This has never happened before, not even the last who seemed nearly invisible when using her weapon could wield their powers.

Just as she managed to get Helen up with one hand over her shoulder to lean on, Hyde stopped her."What are you doing?"

"What do you mean? I'm taking her home" she answered suprised that he was even asking.

"Do you intend to let her remember everything that happened, let me erase her memory"

"Is that really necessary?,....... you could have told me while I was trying to carry her did you have to wait until now?"

Hyde was not bothered by how upset she sounded until he realized she had stopped her bickering and was staring at the door she was trying to enter earlier.

"What is it?" she was jolted back into reality by the question and thought of an answer that wouldn't sound too weird.

"That door looks a bit familiar though. I can't connect it to anything I've seen before. It gives off the same reminiscent .... just like the horn"

"Why are you still interested in the horn, didn't you say you want to use your powers? Forget about the horn and the room it has nothing to do with you anymore"

"The fact that I want to use my powers doesn't mean I should stop learning weapons. I already gave you an example of yourself"

At this point Hyde turned to face her. "These aren't —your powers— I am sure of it that is why I said you couldn't use them. You don't know who you're hurting or where this force is coming from which makes it more risky"
