The next morning, Debby woke up to find Adebola wrapped arms around her waist as she struggled to get up to urinate. She wondered what time he entered the room as she asked him to leave her alone repeatedly. This man angered her but it seemed like she was powerless against him. He had hurt her real deep and he was here, acting as though it didn't matter anymore. Obviously to him, it didn't matter but to her, it meant the world.
Pushing his arms away, she scowled at his sleeping face, walking into the toilet and afterwards proceeded to brush her teeth. After the second thrust of the toothbrush down her throat, she began to feel the nausea and without any warning, she emptied her stomach on the washing sink and the sound of her retching woke Adebola up who had spent half of his night watching her.
"My love" he exclaimed running to help her in the toilet. He held her face up as he gently wiped her mouth with a tissue. "Are you alright?" She nodded as talking would increase the hyper salivation process. Sitting on the dried floor, he sat by her side seeing how emaciated she had become.
Just then her phone began ringing. "I will get it for you, don't stand up" Adebola offered returning back to the room, only to see the caller Id as Fred with the number underneath it as his friend's own.
Why was Fred calling his wife? He asked himself in deep confusion.
Picking the call, he stayed silent.
"Hello Debby how are you?" Fred said and it was his friend's voice.
"Hello?" Fred said again.
"I know you are still angry about my request but please don't leave yet, please give him a chance"
"So you are begging my wife to keep up with me?" Adebola barked into the call just as Debby was appearing from the toilet.
"Oh Ade, what's up?" Fred asked changing the subject immediately.
"Don't you bloody behave like you did not hear me Fred".
" How dare you take my call? Debby shouted very loudly.
"What is wrong with you Adebola.? You don't know your boundaries?" She asked again.
"What in the world do you have going on with Fred?" He asked as Fred had ended the call immediately the word battle began.
"You must be very stupid to ask that question.Adebola I have told you to leave my sight" Debby insisted opening the room door and Adebola quickly slammed it shut.
"I am asking you what are you doing with this man.?" Adebola questioned again.
"Who do you think told me about your past.?Who do you think encouraged me to take a room close to yours knowing there's an interconnecting door that you won't help listening from? Who do you think gave me the feedback of your eavesdropping.Who in the world encouraged me that you are worth it? Lovable and able to look above your past?" Debby screamed.
"But it was obvious he lied because he was blinded by his love for you and wanted to see you better. I set aside my grief, gave you my love, gave you my body and gave you my time. Rather than open up, you poured Marcus's grief at my face. A man I love, that I would never have to work so hard to get him to be with me." She continued crying as Adebola was speechless as he watched her.
"You are just a boy with so much money and a traumatized childhood. I am done with you and I am taking this child with me." Debby concluded shouting in tears.
Adebola bursted into tears as he saw his 11 years old self struggling to tell his mother what his father just did.
