Chapter 36 - The seven elder gods

After the scene at the dragon temple, the image changes to a battle field as seven gigantic gods glowing different bright colours emerge from a portal being created from nothing.

"THE ELDER GODS DOES KNOW HOW TO MAKE AN ENTRANCE," Callipso noted riling a chuckle from Reya. "IS SOMETHING FUNNY?"

She gives him a blunt look, "Yes, infact everything is funny because you like to crack jokes about everything."

"Reya not now," Uranus warned gravely.

"I'd like you to at least appreciate our efforts in this battle and stop cracking jokes. I am a vampire going up against seven elder gods who have the ability to destroy all of creation with a sneeze, very crazy if you ask me but at least I'm taking it very seriously. We're all ready to lose our lives while banking on you to take out the most dangerous threat out there. Focus on the mission at hand. You can be a comedian later..."

"Reya that is enough!" a vampire snarled her shut.

"But Exodus..."

"I don't want to hear it," the creature warned fixing its eyes on the threats across the field. "Sister there is no need starting up a war amongst ourselves when the real battle has not started yet."

"Wise words my friend," a white stag snorted joining the leaders of the respective groups in the front line.

"What are our chances of winning this battle?" Lady Camilla a Scythian warrior asked in horror.

"Do you want the truth or something to help you sleep after?" Tallily the goddess of fertility chuckled.

"Would there be a place to sleep after this battle?" Mephistopheles grunted.

"There might be if we all work together and remember the plan on how to defeat the gods," Zemeta whispered.

"If anyone has second thoughts about being on this battlefield please go back home," Senile rolled out laughing with the other leaders joining him.

"I don't even know why this is funny," Mars joined in.

"Well, it might be because we are all about to die," the god of wisdom Raïs reminds the dark god of their impending doom.

A bird flies to the frontline, however it transforms into a woman immediately it touches the ground. It was Aurora, goddess of the seasons.

"Mother," I called out before realizing the scene before me was only a flashback of Callipsos memories.

"SHE CAN'T..."

"I know," I noted interrupting him.

"Any group missing?" Uranus heaved impatiently.

"Yes father," she answered joining the second line warriors.

"Tell me the groups you found in the battlefield," Gagontae stared back at the young goddess.

"All new gods are present, the demigods, the Scythian warriors, Moon wolf and its pack, White stag, mages and Xaj's, the giants, demons, the living trees, the Angus and the Williams vampire families, the Vladian soldiers with the red eyed horned lizard and the green footed dragons, the monks, the goblins and the fairies," she listed out causing an uproar from the crowd.

"Where are the humans? Are they not a part of this war as well?"

"The boas are not present. Those slithering creatures have gone into hiding again, haven't they?"

"This is absurd and unforgivable!"

The field started to get rowdy with more and more creatures voicing out their dismay at how the battle plans were being shuffled because some creatures had withdrawn from the battle.

All the gods shot Uranus a look with Senile dropping his hand on his brothers shoulder, "You should lead this unruly crowd brother. No one else can do it better than you."

"I would like to but..."

"Don't tell me you're falling out on this one," Mephistopheles said, sending an encouraging smile towards his brother. "No one would follow a god of the dead. But you are not only stronger but also capable of leading us against our fathers and mothers."

"Mephistopheles is right brother," Gagontae remarked. "Only you can lead us into this battle."

The god takes in deep breaths, stabbing his trident into the ground before levitating into the air, calming the warriors before him.

"Warriors!" his voice thunders into the air. "For millennials we had been under the rule of the elder gods as nothing but pets and experiments. Now they see us as failures and have risen to destroy everything like we are nothing but sand and dust. They plan to erase us from the face of the earth without a reasonable reason for their actions. Not that it matters anyway. And to that we band together and say no to their declaration."

The crowd watches with awe at the floating god before them. He spoke with conviction instilling confidence and power into the warriors.

"Are we going to let ourselves go without a fight!?" his voice thunders.

"NO!" the crowd roars in unison.

"Are you willing to fight for your world and stake a place in it for your children to have a future in?"

"YES!" they exploded again, louder this time.

"Then what say you now."

"We fight!" an excited warrior shouts from the crowd followed by roars of war.

"HE'S PRETTY GOOD WITH THIS WHOLE MOTIVATION SPEE..." Callipso started as Zemeta shushes him. "DON'T HUSH ME."

"Now who shall march into battle with me!?" the god requests as a great cheer goes up from the crowd, the dragons spitting fire into the air with the mages and gods controlling the lightning in the skies.

He looks at the crowd before him with pride before flying down to the ground picking up his trident then releasing a large blast of lightning into the air which superheats the atmosphere around.

This battle was unlike anything I had ever seen with creatures coming together for one course. Vampires with mages and wolves, dragons with scythian warriors and demigods, gods with devils and fairies. It was a battle for the fate of all creatures on the planet. A battle between everything which breathed on earth and the seven elder gods of creation.

The elder gods had all been standing kilometers away from the warriors waiting for the creatures to finish their war speech and when it was over, they started their descent down to the crowd. Their figures towering over trees with Jaruma the leader being around thirty feet in height. Their seven different auras burning bright with the sun's light pale in comparison to their glows. Each step they took created shockwaves which broke apart the ground with ease. Only two elder gods moved differently from the others, Drake and Mindra, as they flew by their leaders sides, the latter glowing blue and the former a fiery red. The rest of the gods stomped on the ground destroying everything beneath their feet, churning the skies black with their destructive auras.

"WELL THAT WAS MOTIVATING," Jaruma remarked releasing shockwaves with each step. Her aura a sinister green sparked with crackles of lightning on its end.

"What do you think we should do to them sister?" Drake asks with a smile.

"I DON'T KNOW. BUT LET US PLAY WITH THEM A LITTLE," she replies with indifference. "DRAKE..."

"Sister," he answers.

"MINDRA."

"Mother," the goddess rejoinders with a smile which seemed to latch permanently on her face.

"AOSH."

"Sire," a hulking elder god with a grey aura answered with his left hand dragging a large hammer behind him. He had a bored expression on his face like he had seen so many battles and he was tired of coming up victorious.

"VILGA."

"Mother," another god answers with his brows furrowed into a frown. His pink aura seemed to cause mirages as he walked.

"DROMEDIPECTUS."

"Hmmm," a white haired goddess grunts, sword in hand like she had been itching for the battle. The black aura which emanated from her created after images of the goddess in a shadowy form.

"KAMALU."

"Sister," the last elder goddess answers with a yellow glow which burnt the ground on which she walked on.

"AS WE MOVE AGAINST OUR CHILDREN AND SUBJECTS, LET US NOT FORGET THE GOAL," her authoritative voice announces.

"Warriors, attack!" Uranus exclaimed leading every creature to fly, run and jump into the battle ahead of them with murderous intents on their mind.

"DROMEDIPECTUS," Jaruma called.

"Yes sister," the goddess replied.

"RELEASE THE SHADOWS."

"This should be fun," the white haired goddess with the black aura smiled creating thousands of clones six feet in height below her. With a wave of her hand, she sent them into the battle as they clashed with the warriors killing off their targets without mercy.

The elder gods stood away from the field while they let Dromedipectus use her clones the way she liked. To the gods this was entertainment but to the warriors who fought with everything in them, this was war.
