The walk is quiet and slow. Nothing much is going on. All the players in the area are challenging the Forest Gnome Dungeon and Von Jeric Larids Raid. No one is in the area I'm in with Klein because of that. "Sarah..." Klein mumbles his partner's name in my arms. The poor man isn't in the best shape, but I'm glad I was able to save him.
Trees and rough terrain are on both sides of the path I'm taking back to Kedwein. There shouldn't be any monsters in the area, not any strong ones, at least. My mana is almost full again, and I've come to the conclusion that there's still a lot that I need to practice with my skills. All my skills are powerful, and I'm only using 3 of them regularly.
The next chance I get, I'm trying out Dread Wave. It's a powerful attack that isn't a lot of mana. "Water..." I look down at Klein and see his eyes barely open. I don't have any water on me, and he's looking pretty dehydrated. Taking him to the local hospital in Kedwein seems to be the best choice. I can tell Sarah once he's being taken care of.
We enter Kedwein after a 30-minute walk, and I head straight to the hospital. As soon as I enter, nurses and doctors rush towards me with a magical floating med. I lay him down. "He's severely dehydrated and malnourished. He's also got some broken bones too." I tell the doctor what I know, and she follows the nurses to the room where they'll take care of him.
Libertas doesn't have modern medicine, but they're good at treating people regardless. The uses of Alchemy and Healing magic make this easier to heal people than in the real world. Now that Klein is taken care of, I need to tell Sarah. I turn around, and I make my way towards the door. It bursts open, and none other than Sarah is running in.
Word travels fast. Someone must've recognized Klein and rush to tell Sarah as I was taking him here. She has tears streaming down her face and their baby in her arms. We lock eyes for a slipt second, and I see her eyes widen in surprise. I give a single nod, and she rushes to the nurse's station. I leave the hospital and head for a bar.
I'm not going there to drink, only to rest. It'd be rude to speak to Sarah as her baby daddy is in the hospital. I enter a rather nice-looking bar, and I head for the counter. "What can I get you, kid?" I look at the bartender, and he's got a smile on his face as he's cleaning a glass. I shake my head and lay it on the counter.
Once Klein is taken care of, and Sarah knows he's safe, I'll talk to her. Till then, I can relax a little and head back to clear the Greedy Goblins Dungeon for real this time. Its Uncommon Grade status makes it a nice place for me to farm the gold. Once I clear it officially, I do a few more runs to fill up my gold supply.
I hear the door slam as it bounces off the wall, and I look. Wonder what the commotion is. It's a group of players, and they've got some nice gear on them. I still have my starting gear on. In retrospect, I'm a mad man for going into these tough dungeons with the little amount of gear I have. It's not that bad, though. I intend to start learning smithing, armoring, and alchemy while in Kedwein.
Get those started up early and craft me some personal gear. I'll need blueprints, and I know where some good ones are in the Forest Gnome Dungeon. I'll need to do a few runs to get it to drop. That's after I do a few runs of Greedy Goblins Dungeon, though. I need to learn the basics of smithing, armoring, and alchemy before I go for the blueprints.
The players that walked into the bar stomp up to the counter and all take a seat. "I can't believe the Forest Gnome Dungeon is so hard! How are we supposed to beat it when no one has yet!?" That's an interesting piece of information. No one's cleared it yet. I would've thought it has been by now. That means the blueprints are a guaranteed drop on the first clear.
