~~~(POV: Lyatt Scott)~~~
~~~(Date: February 7th, 2297)~~~
I've made my decision about my choice. Once Libertas is live in the following hours, I'm going for the Mythical Class, Darkness Incarnate. Libertas is important, and down the road, a major change will happen, and it'll affect the world. That isn't something I should focus on right now. What I need to do is focus on not letting my actions drastically change the future. As a recognized Loremaster of Libertas, I know a lot about the world, locations, important NPC's. Even important items and weapons.
NPC's are going to be every player's best friend in the early stages. NPC's know we are players and can do all the same things we can. They take quests, level up, have inventories, access the system, and are actually conscious. They aren't dumb, pre-programmed machines. What you say can have an effect. The choices you make can have consequences, be they good or bad. NPC's will naturally be at higher levels, which means convincing some of them to help means you'll grow faster. I'm not going to need an NPC to get the quest and class.
The thing about getting the Mythical Class, Darkness Incarnate, is about testing your will. When I get this quest, I'll have to be prepared to be tested. Devin Leo posted about how he got the class and what he did. He said that it was going to be a different experience for everyone. For him, he was shown memories of his abusive father over and over until he overcame his fear. That means my experience will be different. I open my eyes and enjoy the vast endless landscapes, blooming flowers, and the rolling hills. The tree providing me shade while I wait is nice.
There is another important function that I'll have to be cautious of. That's the lore function. Basically, every significant event that a player does in Libertas is stored in a player's Lore Tab. Lore Tabs are great for building a timeline for your journey. It serves another purpose that won't be figured out until 2 weeks into the game. It'll allow you to post your Lore on the World Lore Tab. This'll allow players to view other's stories so far into Libertas. Why this is important is because NPC's will have the same access to it as players.
It's obvious where this is going, and that's important for me. The better your player's lore is, the easier it'll be when selling, buying, getting reputation gains, and access to certain quests. It's a mechanic beloved by many once implemented 2 weeks from today. Until then, it's smart to build up lore and accomplishments. Which is what I'll do. We all enter the game as humans, and we look as we do in real life. However, certain classes and quests can have race changes. The quest for Darkness Incarnate doesn't change your race.
Which I prefer, but there will be players turning into Dwarves, Orcs, Vampires, Demons. I'll be sticking with human, but my power will be anything but human. The game will change the world, and I have no intention of being murdered this time around. Not like last time. If only I could remember. It's too foggy... It's something I'm going to have to piece together. That isn't a problem right now. I'm killed 6 years from now. I have time to figure this out. According to my memories that aren't related to my death, I had no enemies wanting to murder me.
I sigh and stop worrying about it. Constantly thinking about it won't help right now. I should be happy and grateful I'm back, and I'm getting a chance to be something more than last time. An average player... I'm not going to be that this time. I could barely provide for myself after the change. It's going to be different. I close my eyes, and I spread out my limbs under the shade of the tree. I set an in-game alarm at the minute before the servers go live. You have to pick the place you want to spawn.
Everyone else will be jumping in blind, but I won't. Libertas is huge and something I'll go into more detail about later. I'm in the best position right now cause I know where to go and who to talk to for the quest. Everything in the game is graded the same—Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Exotic, and Legendary. The only known thing to be of Mythical Grade is the class Darkness Incarnate. All things in the game follow this. I close my eyes and fall asleep, resting until the alarm wakes me up.
