Chapter 16 - Crowe’s Strength was Overwhelming

Thud...Thud...

In an empty corridor, only the sound of Crowe's footsteps echoed in the space. The only audible sound was Crowe's footsteps echoing through barren space. As his foot landed, Crowe stood in front of the stairs that connected the second to the third floor. He didn't continue up, but instead walked along the corridor and entered the second floor. There he found three zombies on his left and four on his right.

All the zombies noticed Crowe's presence at the same time with their scarlet eyes. Their eyes were glaring, like hungry wolves smelling the odor of fresh meat and blood. The zombies from both sides swarmed upon him, even the debris and obstructions on the floor couldn't stop them from pursuing Crowe. If Crowe knew that this would happen before, he would have retreated and avoided being noticed and waited for the opportunity to launch a stealth-attack them one by one instead.

However, with his newfound [Intermediate Combat Technique] skill book, he didn't panic and remained his composure in this situation. In fact, he was more excited to see how much he had improved.

"With this many zombies, I can see how strong I've become."

Crowe clenched his fists, and he stood where he was, holding his breath and waiting for the zombies from both sides to reach him. The zombies weren't fast but were only a few feet away and closing in fast. Crowe did not have to wait for long as they were coming! As the zombies on the left were closing in on him, Crowe moved immediately. A cold light flashed through his eyes, he opened his mouth wide and screamed out his roar, and took a step forward to face the zombies.

The alloy blade in his hand was wielded in such a way as a skilled combat master would. Under the control of his palm, the blade turned outward. As the zombies' mouth and their rotten breaths were about to reach him, Crowe, in a calm manner allowed his [Intermediate Combat Technique] to find its best way as a strategy based on his known experience fighting zombies.

He tilted his head slightly and dodged the zombie's bite and at the same time, he launched a fierce counterattack. He swung his right arm swiftly and the alloy blade cut through the zombie's decaying throat. In a flash, its head had completely detached itself from its body. The muddy blood sprayed out and the zombie's body fell to the ground with a loud thud.

It was much easier for Crowe to defeat one zombie now, because of his skill improvement, his attacks were more efficient and more dangerous than they were. The two zombies in front of him followed and approached him one after another, while two other zombies unknowingly squeezed in behind Crowe.

The narrow corridor was now filled with four zombies, the situation in the front was less dangerous than what's going on behind Crowe's back and he was aware of that. He took a step and swept his left foot towards the ankle of one of the zombies in front of him and right after, the zombie lost its balance. Crowe leaned forward and blocked the zombie that was behind the first one, and entangled their bodies together.

Crowe didn't stop there, he didn't even flinch at the noise surrounding him. He already knew that more zombies were coming, it was only a step away from him. He quickly turned around and kicked the zombie's head with perfect timing. The zombie's face was twisted and crushed as if it was about to crumble into small pieces. The entire head of the zombie was grossly out of shape after the impact. His strength that was three times stronger than a normal human being was not something to be messed with. Crowe then used the inertia force of his kick and took out the zombie's right arm as well. The last remaining zombie in the left corridor was also decapitated.

The sound of wind rang in Crowe's ears, as he rolled forward, and the other zombies could barely hurt him and in just a few seconds, Crowe managed to put an end to all the danger that was surrounding him.

The number of zombies was now down to five from the seven initial zombies. The zombie he attacked earlier was were just flailing around aimlessly without its head, its condition was far worse than other zombies. Technically speaking, now he only had four and a half zombies to deal with. Crowe smirked, he was extremely satisfied with his own strength and ability. He wouldn't have had the ability to respond this quickly in the past. Back then, the chances of him getting himself hurt would've been much higher. If Crowe had got bitten during a fight, this would mean that he would become one of the zombies too.

The two entangled zombies were clawing and squeezing through each other as they stared at Crowe. Zombies wouldn't fight each other, their target was Crowe, who was still alive and breathing. He turned around and faced the wall of zombies, Crowe wiped the blood off of his face, it did not belong to him but was from the zombies that he had just killed

"Come on."

It was as if he was provoking them, Crowe stretched out his left hand and taunted them with his index finger. Suddenly, the zombies seemed to have acknowledged the provocation, and an ear-piercing roar came from the mouths of the five zombies. The roar echoed throughout the empty corridor.

Crowe sneered, he stomped his feet and sprinted toward them. Then, he leaped into the air and kicked the head of the zombie with three times the strength of a normal person. The zombie was sent flying by Crowe's force without holding back. It landed on the ground more than five feet away and was no longer moving.

Crowe landed two more heavy attacks on the zombie's head, just to make sure it stayed dead. Before the other zombies were aware of what's happening and reacted, Crowe chopped off two of the zombies' arms. His alloy blade was so sharp that it didn't feel sluggish even after he carved off four zombies arms.

The zombies were unable to harm him now and the two zombies with their arms broken wailed miserably. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a zombie that was trying to sneak an attack from his left side. Crowe clenched his left fist and punched the zombie's face. Its face was immediately sunken, and his eyeballs were about to burst out from the impact. Crowe's right arm arched up in the air and he followed up with a punch to the zombie's neck from the right at a strange angle. It was as if fate had grabbed it by its throat, the zombie's scream immediately stopped.

Crowe pulled his blade out of the zombie's neck and used his waist as the core body part to release immense strength from his body. His left leg was planted on the ground as the pivoting point, and his right leg took a big step to the left. The alloy blade that was in Crowe's control was tightly clenched and it went past through the necks of two zombies with broken arms and one zombie with a disfigured face.

In the end, there was only silence. The entire process was like a feast for the eyes. Crowe's every move was clean and simple from the beginning to the end. If someone was to see the incident that happened, they would be more than impressed.

After he finished up his attack, Crowe had a better grasp of his own strength. "Seven. I can kill them easily and I don't think that was even the limit. I don't think there'll be a problem dealing with ten zombies at the same time.

As expected from an [Intermediate Combat Technique] skill book...

Now, it's time I search for the girl that was asking for help from the third floor."
