A boy and a girl walked together along the streets. They wore white robes with black trim on them, golden carvings were visible on their back. Both of them had a Jade with a sword carved onto it hung around their waist. The boy had long hair tied to a ponytail and the girl had straight hair with two strips draped over her shoulder as her long hair on the back reached her waist. As they walked by people couldn't help but take a second glance at them.
The boy was walking carefree and with both of his hands behind his back. He time to time glanced around as if looking for something. The girl however walked without any problem.
"Can you believe that old bone sent us on a mission as soon as we arrived?"
The boy grumbled.
"Gou don't disrespect your Elder."
Gou scoffed and said,
"Even if he was our uncle that doesn't change the fact that old bone is a pain in the wrong places."
The girl glanced at Gou and said,
"As your elder sister, I cannot allow you to talk like that..."
Gou looked back at her with dismay but soon smiled when he heard her next words,
"Then again he did break my chariot."
She said with dissatisfaction. She still remembered how it exploded in front of her.
"Now you're talking my language, Yang. I knew you would understand, unlike Aoi"
Said Gou with a bright smile. But Yang narrowed her eyes and said,
"You unruly kid not only you're disrespecting me but also our older brother. Wait till our father hears about this."
Gou giggled after hearing this and said,
"He's probably gonna agree with me."
Yang shook her head and didn't refute it as their father would not only agree with him but probably even encourage him. So Yang instead of arguing changed the subject and said,
"Do you remember what he looked like before?"
Gou thought for a second before saying.
"I don't remember the exact details. But I should recognize him."
Yang nodded her head and asked,
"What exactly he did do actually?"
Although she knew bits she wasn't sure. She normally doesn't care about these as she focused more on pill making than other things. She was sent here as Three Chariot Sect was gonna create a base here until the demonic cultivators' threat is neutralized. They would at least have one good pill Master for some unforeseen circumstances.
When they reached the Red Leaf Sect all they saw were chaos and gathering. As soon as they reached the courtyard the Uncle rushed to him and told them to look for someone with the name Fang as Gou was familiar with him.
"Well remember that elite disciple I talked about?"
Gou said to Yang.
"Yes, the one you and Lueduo went to meet. *gasp* It's the one who was crippled and sect Master sent a Diluted Dragon Blood?"
Gou nodded and said,
"Yep, that's the one. We are looking for him. Honestly, that boy was unique. He looked like a child who got a sword without knowing how to swing it properly. The amount of Qi he wasted just to throw one punch was astonishing."
As he was saying this Yang noticed Gou looked excited.
"Even then his power was extreme. Despite being at the Seventh level of Qi Condensation he managed to injure a small core realm. When I stopped his fist I still felt the shockwave."
Yang smiled and said,
"Must be a pretty strong guy."
Gou nodded. Yang knew how eccentric her brother was. He always became excited whenever he found a strong opponent. He would either befriend them, fight them or beat them. Sometimes all three at the same time although not in that order.
They continued to talk around and kept an eye out for Fang.
Meanwhile,
After giving out some arbitrary explanation Lin was spared from the questions. He remembered the look on their face.
He knew none of them was convinced. But what else can they do? Torture him for answers.
He didn't think so.
After coming out, he asked around and learned Snow was in Thousand Cage Mountain.
Lin walked towards the Thousand Cage Mountain absentmindedly. He knew sooner or later he have to reveal the truth.
Lin sighed and decided to cross that bridge when he reached there.
He kept thinking about the Timeless.
Lin didn't know what happened to the artefact after he gave it to Ssyba.
He looked at his tattoo. He could feel the sword inside.
Lin unconsciously rubbed his tattoo.
Soon he turned up to the Thousand Cage Mountain.
He could hear faint laughter coming from the mountain. He was certain Beat Hall Elder would vomit blood if she heard this.
Lin soon reached the location of the laughter. He saw Snow.
She was smiling and laughing as she played with her beast.
This was the first time Lin was seeing it.
It looked chubby and cuddly. It was making chirping noises as Snow tickled it. It also had an ugly crown made of flowers and grass on top of it.
Lin looked at the smiling face of Snow. He saw her blue eyes were full of joy and care.
Lin's mind unconsciously reminded him of the same eyes devoid of any emotions and joy. Lin shook his head off.
'No, that future won't come to pass.' Lin reminded himself once again.
He walked closer when suddenly Snow looked back. As their eyes met Lin felt his heart beating rapidly.
It increased when Snow rushed and hugged him. Her slender arms wrapped around Lin's neck. A beautiful fragrance tickled his nose. Lin gently wrapped his arms around her back.
Lin was very troubled after waking up.
He had too many thoughts but his greatest concern was Snow. After her journey to the Nightmare Realm, Lin was afraid that she would lose her lustre and joy. But it seemed that beast saved her.
Hugging each other they stood there motionless as if savouring everything moment.
It was however somewhat ruined by the White as it bit down Lin's leg.
Lin looked at it.
He could feel sparks coming out of that beast's eyes. Somehow that made Lin irritated as he kicked it away.
Snow felt small shifting around her. She turned her head to see White flying off into the jungle.
"Why did you do that for?!"
Snow suddenly said with surprise but didn't let go of Lin. Lin took a glance at it and said,
"Well, it started it."
Snow let go of Lin and looked at him in disbelief. He too was embarrassed by that childish remark.
"It has a name, Lin. He is called White."
Lin chuckled lightly when something white rushed at him. Lin extended his right hand and caught it by the neck. It tried to wriggle free and scratch Lin's hand. Just as he was about to throw it Snow caught him and said,
"White. No!"
She hold it in her arms and as if all previous aggression was a lie it became docile.
As she tried to scold White, Lin could swear that the beast looked at him smugly.
He narrowed his eyes and didn't comment on it.
He looked at Snow. He wanted to ask about Nightmare Realm but he didn't have it in him to remind her of that dark place.
Lin also was wary of that beast given by Ssyba. But considering how it protected her he decided to overlook some things.
So Lin just casually talked with Snow. As White sat on Snow's lap. Lin wished everything could stay like this.
After a while, Lin gets down from the mountain along with Snow as her punishment time ended.
He bid her goodbye for her lesson with Lady Dala. Lin watched her back with a smile. He walked around aimlessly unsure of what to do.
The changes were drastic. The future he knew was changing unknowingly.
He felt pressure on him. Lin knew his strength was far from enough. To gain the strength he needed to do many things.
But recent events made him question whether or not he should change his plan.
Lin felt frustrated.
His plans were thrown into disarray. He was at his wits loss. As he came back from his daze he realized he walked out of the Green Leaf Sect.
He wanted to find Fang. With his Left Eye of Truth and Fang's Right Eye of Mystery, they can certainly change the ever-changing future.
With a determined mind he walked off to look for Fang.
