"Sis...can I really not try and recruit him?" Gou said with puppy eyes.
"Just look at him. He will fit right in." He spoke as they watch Lin carry Fang out.
Yang kept her eyes on Fang as she listened to her brother's ramblings.
"If you can convince our uncle." Yang coldly poured cold water on Gou's ambition.
"Tch. That old bastard. Forget it. It's not worth it." Gou gave up just like that.
"Are we gonna do something about the Senior Zhi? I'm pretty sure Fang created a big enough heart demon to explode him inside out." Gou looked in the direction Star Zhi walked away.
"No need. We will go back and relay everything we saw." Yang turned around as she said that.
Gou nodded and walked away alongside her.
...
Lin put down Fang in his room.
He knew this would inevitably cause some conflict. But until then it wouldn't be a bad idea to train him.
Lin sighed and sat down.
He was reaching a natural breakthrough. He forcefully suppresses it.
He learned from an ancient text that during a natural breakthrough the more one can suppress it the bigger the flow of Qi in the body.
To create a core, one must put all their Condensed Qi in a singular spot. Some do it in their stomach and some in their liver.
But Lin found it is much stronger if it's through the heart. Also equally risky.
Because the Qi would run through their veins. Making their movement sluggish.
Lin however found a way around it. By holding the breakthrough he could accumulate a ton of Qi and use that access Qi to expand the veins.
As for why he didn't let Snow try it because it is painful and can lead to death.
He would rather explode than allow her to try it.
He looked at Fang and sighed. He has seen people being arrogant and court death. None batshit crazy like Fang.
So in a way, he respected that.
Lin after a while got up and felt like walking. Walking with Snow.
After he managed to bring her out and by bringing it means sneaking her out. He and Snow went on a walk.
It's unusual for Lin to walk slowly.
But he liked the feeling of walking together with Snow.
She was talking about her training with White and how much progress she made. Lin listened to it happily.
"...and Teacher said, "You have improved. Keep up the progress," I was like 'Finally, less punishment.'"
White made purring noise as if agreeing with her. She was hugging him with both of her arms. His tail was wiggling rapidly. From time to time he threw Lin a nasty look but Lin simply just ignored it.
There's no point in fighting over Snow with a dumb beast.
"That's wonderful. How about as a celebration we go to the Seven Rose Restaurant."
Lin told Snow. She nodded while White tilted its head slightly while panting with its tongue out.
Snow moved closer to Fang and held his hand.
Slightly flustered Lin smiled and held her hand tightly.
'They are soft.' Lin thought to himself.
White however didn't like that. If looks could kill then White probably killed Lin several times already.
Lin was aware of this but he promptly ignored him.
'So angry.' White felt attacking Lin and put him in his place for stealing his human.
But he in the end could only swallow his bitterness and wag its tail.
After a while, Lin and Snow arrived,
Lin was poor. But he will always have enough money for her.
Both of them sat side by side and put White opposite to them.
Lin gave him a triumph smile
White for now ignored him. He will have his chance.
Lin and Snow ordered their dish and talked happily while eating.
Somewhere in the Myriad Star Kingdom,
"So boring!" Ssyba said as he circled in the air before stopping upside down.
"Nothing interesting happening. No one is trying to find me." Ssyba complained as he float in the air.
Ssyba took out a binocular and started watching things when he felt it.
The gaze of someone on him. He almost exploded with excitement.
He tried to look around but failed to notice anyone.
'Laws are getting stronger.' As he was thinking he heard a giant explosion. His face lit considerably as he whizzed past the air to the point of explosion.
...
A man with wings flew backwards as countless arrows followed him.
The man extended his hand and several layers of shield formed before him.
Each of the arrows exploded as it touched the shield.
"To think one of our own would sell us."
The one who shot the arrow shouted. He wore a black and golden robe with dark blue clothing inside.
"Sell you? I am not the one who is betraying their people."
The winged man said with a disgusted look.
"People? What's the use for them? If we succeed don't you understand what will happen? We will become something beyond immortal. We would rule not just this universe. We could rule all the universe."
The man extended his bow and shot a few more arrows at him. This time they are omnidirectional.
The winged man cast the shield over his body thinly but it couldn't last long against the onslaught.
The winged man falters when the other one grabbed him by the wing and kicked him in the spine.
"Agh!"
The winged man was crushed by the man who pulled his wings.
The winged man pushed from the ground but before he could go any further his hands and legs were pinned by arrows. His wings flutter trying to get himself off but the man slashed him straight in the spine and said,
"You are not fit to be a Sovereign."
With that, he stepped on the base of his wing and pulled with all his might.
A painful cry rang out as with a loud tear one of the wings was pulled out.
The winged man's face was full of tears and blood.
"Pathetic."
With that, the other wing was torn out with equal brutality.
The wingless man became weak as the man held him by the hair.
"The future we saw will come to be whether you..."
Before he could finish a chunk of his shoulder was blown away.
He quickly retreated as he stared in the distance.
When he was distracted a bloody red winged woman attacked him with a lance.
It pierced his stomach. As he was about to attack someone else came from behind and punched him where he stood.
The man looked at the wingless man and snorted.
Just as he was about to escape his leg was blown off.
All of them looked in the distance. But before they could reach the man take off.
"Osiris!" The red-winged woman shouted.
The man was already on the move. Trying to chase him off.
The woman went to the wingless man who said,
"I will live. Go after him."
The woman nodded and took off after that man.
In the distance,
Ssyba clicked his tongue as he pulled back the pin.
*kling*
A large shell ejected out of the gun.
It was a long-barreled sniper rifle. On one of its sides, it had a large blue tube. Powered by special energy it was created to kill things normal bullets won't.
Ssyba stood up with it. Although it was heavy to Ssyba it weighed little more than a feather
"I missed." Ssyba lamented. He wanted to see if his sniping skills were still top-notch. Turns out that without practice anything can be forgotten.
