BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
There was a big explosions in the battlefield, there was rubble and debris everywhere, the place where the explosion had happened was completely reduced to nothing, there were big craters and the land was completely scorched.
The explosions ware created by a tier 2 combination spell, [Concentrated Fire Beam] which is made up of Fire and Light elements to create a beam of hot fire that has explosive and scorching ability. The spell killed every person in the affected range of the spell, whether it was mage or regular human troops. There were bodies lying on the ground completely burnt without a chance to recognise the person who had died.
The people who survived the spell had looks of despair in their faces, such a spell could kill tens to hundreds of people in one shot, their chances of escaping with their lives are very limited and they knew it.
The young people who are just experiencing war for the first time had looks of completely dejection and despair these young people just wanted to run away, no one could have warned them of such destruction, Noah Belfort was one of these young people.
The 15 year old was behind a defensive wall and had his mana finished from launching spells, he was trying to get more mana from using magic crystals, with that look of dejection wondering whether he would survive, poor fellow was close mental breakdown, his mage intelligence was failing to calm him down.
Noah Belfort did not need to wonder whether he would survive because the place he was hidden was hit by another tier 2 combination spell, [Artic Gale] which is created by Water/Ice and Wind elements. Noah's body was frozen by freezing winds, his head fell off from frozen body.
Noah was not the only young mage to die in this war, Arin had been deploying young mages from less prosperous Mage Academies that had reached tier 1 regardless of whether they had reached the age of 15. That is the reason Grey and his previous class mates had not been deployed even after reaching tier 1, Witfield Academy was considered very prosperous, they would rather they wait for them to reach 15 or the situation is very dire.
The battle that is currently happening at the Dralia Mountain Range was very close to the mining camp at Edward's Crevasse. The number of people fighting at the same time had reached thousands, and similar numbers of people were dying, whether mage or normal human, it was a meat grinder situation.
The bulk number of these dying people were obviously the normal humans, because they made up the higher number of the fighting forces, in the battle field you would find these people stabbing, cutting and shooting each other using many forms of weapons.
The current battle happening at the Dralia mountain range there was a large amount of despair and anger from the two sides of Arin and Rawyth, the two sides had been fighting for 26 months since Rawyth declared war, at this time Grey was 13 years and 10 months old. The fight of the two countries had been further away from the mining camp at Edward's Crevasse.
Arin had made large defensive constructions, the construction's objective was to slow down Rawyth's military whilst Arin continued their mining activities, the Very Large lode had been mined by up 30% by Arin. The defensive constructions worked for the initial conflict of the two countries, thus the two engaged in defensive war against each other.
The number of deaths in any defensive war is always high and with the addition of mages who are just death machines, the casualties on both sides were high but it was on an expected level. The kingdoms of Arin and Rawyth were always bringing reinforcements to the war effort, the reinforcements included both mages and regular human troops, but the two kingdoms were always leaving a large reserve in case Ruhen tried anything, as Ruhen had not joined the fighting yet.
The two countries of Arin and Rawyth believed that they would be able to resist Ruhen when it finally came to the fight.
The two countries understood that this was an open scheme by Ruhen to make them reduce their number of new mages which were created with the use of magic crystals, but the two countries believed they had a good reserve to fight when Ruhen started to fight.
The defensive constructions worked against the regular troops, but against mages they were easily to destroyed, it was the responsibility of Arin's mages to fight against Rawyth's mages to prevent the destruction of the defensive constructions. The plan was good, but situations never go according to plan, the mages were never able to fully prevent the destruction of the defensive constructions, this made the defensive line to obviously retreat back to the mining camp.
The situation is what Rawyth wanted, they had to push Arin out of Edward's Crevasse so that they could get the mining camp, and as they got closer to the mining camp, they increased they vigilance against Ruhen.
The time was an opportune time for Ruhen to come and try and defeat both countries and take the mining camp, Rawyth had even put their reinforcements in standby. At this time both the on field commanders of Arin and Rawyth were ready for anything that Ruhen could throw at them, these two people were tier 4 mages with lots of experience thus there was very little they had not seen.
These two individuals were wrong, they were not ready for what Ruhen had in plan. The force that Ruhen had sent to start its war effort was something that no could have expected, the force that was sent is the reason that the current battle is very despairing to the forces of Arin and Rawyth. The on field commander of Arin, Alexandria Wells, had a serious look on her face, if only looks could kill, it was not only her, the on field commander of Rawyth, Albert Evans, had a similar look on his face.
