In Witfield Academy Grey was seating on the ground with his legs crossed, there was a gathering of elemental energy all around him.
'A little bit more then I will be able to breakthrough into tier 1 mage tier.'
The elemental energies kept concentrating around him with greater density, the area around him was completely white due to the elements of Light all around him.
'Getting to tier 1 should give me the intelligence boost I need to finish the coding language.'
Grey had spent 20 months of time on the research of the coding language, the process had taken most of his time such that he was late into breaking through into tier 1. The previously estimated time that he had estimated for him to reach tier 1 with the use of magic crystals was increased by two months.
The other children like the tier 4 talents had taken 18 months with their quota of magic crystals had taken 18 months to reach tier 1.
Miranda was surprised when she and the other children started to reach tier 1, whilst Grey still stayed in tier 0, the other children had also estimated a time of 18 months to reach tier 1 with the use of magic crystals.'
During the 20 months of research, Grey had managed to find that he was lacking the intelligence of the higher mages who developed the engraving languages of this world. Even with his knowledge of programming he could not finish his programming language, this was because engraving also introduced magic subjects and these subjects are very profound that require intelligence that comes from the increase of magic tiers.
What Grey had currently created was only the framework of the coding language which just accounted only 30% of the entire coding language, he still needed to develop the other 70%, and the 70% was something he could not create with his tier 0 intelligence. This situation highly annoyed him, he got caught up in the passion of magic research that the time he spent in magic accumulation was reduced such that he became late by two months. The more he thought about this current situation, he thought Christina and himself were similar when it came to passion about magic rings.
The 20 months he had spent in the magi ring design class had further strengthened his foundation in the design of magic rings and into magic, this foundation had helped very much in the development of the coding language. The time he spent in the class had also shown his high talent for magic ring design, Hilda Higgens always looked at him with slight melancholy, maybe it was for her obviously lacking talent when compared to him.
In terms of Magic Ring Design talent, Grey had the highest in the class, Christina came next, then William and lastly Flynn, however most of the time Christina and Flynn tied when it came to practical creation of magic rings. The reason for this phenomenon was because Flynn had a higher magic talent, tier 4 versus tier 3, this gap in talent was able to make Flynn had the same practical creations, maybe when Christina had more experience Flynn would never hold a candle to her.
There was an observation that Grey started to observe as he spent time accumulating magic and approaching tier 1, and that his talent in programming or magic ring design in general was increasing. Grey finally understood that the so called magic talent had something to do with the soul, he would need further observation to make any conclusions.
It is like what The System had said, he would not stagnate in this world like he did in his previous world, what The System said suggested that this world had a way to increase his talent, and it might be that going higher in magic tiers had something to do with a that.
That was one of the reasons he believed reaching tier 1 would give him the ability to finish his programming language.
The magic energies concentrated at an even higher density around, that was until Grey felt something like a flat donut develop around his Source, which is located in his heart.
Grey observed the flat donut using his mental strength, the ring was completely white and somewhat illusionary like it was projected around his heart and if an object was passed through the ring it would pass through like it did not exist.
'The magic ring does look very mystical.'
The magic ring was white because Light element was his main element, in people with two main elements the ring will have two colours representing the main elements.
Grey felt really wonderful after reaching tier 1, he felt that his body had been slightly strengthened, this effect is what gave mages their long life span. If Grey had to strengthen his body with exercises it would take a lot of effort, Grey was 1.6m with muscles in the correct places whilst not being buff, thus to get more strengthening would be very difficult.
Grey felt that his mental abilities had been increased multiple times, he could already start thinking about some solutions to the problems he encountered during his research on the programming language. This situation quickly validated some of his observation about his talent in programming or magic ring design increasing.
'I will not get pulled in by passion, I hope.'
Grey had a silent prayer to his future self so as to be careful and not get caught up in the passion. Grey hoped everything went according to plan this time since war was coming and he could not afford to waste time.
Grey had a lot of things to do, whether it is keep up with his class, research, practise new spells and most important, develop his magic ring. Developing a better magic ring for himself was the main reason Grey would spend so much time researching a new language, so would not forget his main reason for starting this whole process.
