Miranda just watched as Grey laughed with unstrained joy, she would never forget this side of Grey, considering that the fellow does not show too much of such emotions even when he is happy.
Miranda stopped looking at Grey as she too started to concentrate her thoughts somewhere else, after a while a small flame appeared in front of her.
It was tier 0 spell [Burning Ember], she too could not help but start laughing, but for her it was more like a giggle, whilst Miranda was not a very pretty girl, she was above average, so her giggles did not sound bad. Whilst she was laughing 1st Lt Miller came in and found the two of them laughing.
"It looks like the two of you have already started to use magic. That is good, it shows you have been really busy the last few years."
The two did not answer the 1st Lt, they just calmed down enough to listen to what he had to say.
"When you are feeling better, you should come to room number 03 in the next floor up, and when you get there just wait for classmates who are still passed out to wake up and join you."
Miranda and Grey left the infirmary when they were feeling much better, the smile on Grey's face was still there on his face, it seemed that his emotions were still not under control.
"Grey, you know when you smile, together with your uniform and grey hair, you can charm more girls."
Grey turned to look at her with a surprised look, he was surprised that after all this time he had not gotten control of his emotions, Miranda was clearly back to normal.
'I must have really wanted to use magic, such that I could not control my emotions for a long time.'
After breathing in for a while, he finally calmed down.
"Thank you."
He thanked her for telling him that his emotions were out of control, she might have used different words to say it but that is what she meant.
As they left the infirmary they saw the rest of their classmates passed out on the beds, this included Flynn who was still weirdly passed out, even though they did the Source Ignition at the same time.
They went to the next floor of the building and entered room number 03, inside, they found Dean Julia Becker waiting in the room all alone, she still had the neutral face she had when they were doing the ignition process. The Dean just glanced at them as they found seats at the front row,
'My mana pool is already filled up. I think it's because it's still small, if the size increases I will have to use potions to refill my mana during combat, I guess that is the same in any magical world.'
Grey thought to himself as he and Miranda were waiting for the rest of their classmates.
Grey and Miranda waited for 10 minute until the next child came in to room number 03, it was Flynn, he still looked pale, the experience must have been terrible for him.
'His changed.'
Miranda thought as she glanced at Grey who was seating next to him, that made him also glance at the entering Flynn.
'The experience must have given the kid some PTSD.'
It was not only the two students that glanced at Flynn, even Dean Julia Becker glanced at Flynn, if the previous Flynn was a happy and highly optimistic matured boy, the current Flynn was someone who had lost his naivete, he even looked more matured that he did previously.
He went and set next to Grey in the front row again.
'I was really immature back then.'
He was thinking about the past when he stopped seating next to Grey and Miranda because they were more inclined to war and giving out difficult decisions, getting to tier 0 and the pain to get there must have made him lose his naïve side.
The rest of the 14 children continued to come in to room number 03 for the next 02 hours, some children had changed, whilst others managed to stay the same.
People like Sheldon managed to stay the same without changing in personality, you could only say that reaching tier 0 only made him more intelligent.
People like Petra instead changed, maybe for the best, she was like Flynn in the past, looking at things in a naïve childish way, she had to save her subordinates, but now she understood that certain things had to be done.
People like Flynn and Petra were tier 4 talents and they were inherently geniuses, and they would eventually understand such things. Maybe that is the reason their teachers like 1st Lt Miller did not push them too much as they understood that when they reached tier 0, such naïve thought would be removed.
When the last child reported to room 03, Dean Becker went to the front of the room in order to talk to them.
"Children you are now military mages of the Kingdom of Arin, even though you have not graduated, the military can deploy you if it feels that it is necessary."
Dean Becker paused to observe the looks of the children, the children had mostly neutral faces, but they could not hide they feelings from a tier 5 mage, she did not comment on those emotions, she just continued.
"You will start your general magic class tomorrow, those who want to enter special classes like Magic Ring design you can register for those."
The children looked more happy about that.
"Today I will give you all the elementary tier breathing methods depending on your main elements, these breathing methods will help you to cultivate your magic tiers. If you have been studying you should know that already, I will not explain it to you."
The children knew that there were elementary tier, middle tier and advanced tier breathing methods, these could be used to quickly climb the magic tiers. Elementary tier breathing methods could be used to reach tier 3, so a person could use a breathing method for a long time without changing.
"You should also be aware that the kingdom has found a magic crystal lode."
That was not a question, it was a statement. It really does seem that the gossiping dining hall staff was put there on purpose, which is to give out information about the outside world to the children.
"When the mining of the lode starts, you can expect to be given a quota of magic crystals. This will increase your rate of magic accumulation, this means you will reach tier 1 before you are supposed to graduate in this Academy which is 15 years of age, you can stay in the Academy until you reach 15 or you are deployed to military work."
Most of the children understood that they would be deployed before they reached the age of 15 years.
