Clauferry Academy is a marvel in itself, a creators design. Although our creations are not permanent but we can create basically anything, from a spoon to a train just with thoughts.
Many great architectures and technologies are made by them. It doesn't mean that no one else is allowed to develop.
No, that is not the case in Azure. With time the society has grown, so has the technology. People are no more bound to their occupations by their power.
Now it is smoother, anyone can be anything, there are no restrictions. But the tradition continues to be followed.
Clauferry is a sight to behold.
At least for me it is because I am a creator too and every time I look at it I find something new to wonder about. It has employed the craftsmanship of seven creators and it justifies itself.
The monument is shaped like a lotus, petals constricted in the centre and then blooming outwards. The white marble shimmers in the sunlight giving an ethereal glow to the already magnetic architecture.
The sight never gets old.
But staring at the looming structure ahead I felt a pinch of dread.
The gate has been pushed wide open to allow teachers and students to pass. Our school uniform is a grey tracksuit with a black seam. High collared and form-fitting.
It was necessary, seeing as half the classes are for training it is practical to have a tracksuit instead of a formal uniform.
"My friends will want to see my colour," Ash mumbled beside me sounding oddly guilty as if he was asking too much of me.
I turned to see him and he was already staring at me, an embarrassed blush on his cheeks.
I crocked a grin at that.
So he wants me to impress his friends.
He turned away trying to look anywhere but me.
" You got it bro" I promised, swinging an arm across his shoulder which he obviously pushed off and speed walked to his group of friends.
" Ariel" I turned around, a smile gracing my lips as I took in the sight of Thane walking towards me, a bag slung over his shoulder and his trademark grin on his face.
With tousled brown hairs and mischievous grey eyes, it was clear to see why he always attracts female attention. High cheekbones and an olive skin tone 'that is to die for'.
I turned around walking backwards, but at a slower pace. He jogged to catch me, effectively showing off his lean build.
I rolled my eyes at the drama queen. He sure loved the attention.
" Hey monkey face" I taunted, a smirk stretching across my lips. That always gets a rise out of him and seems like it worked.
His smile turned into a scowl, not a real one mind you.
" What are you talking about fish face" He bit out and I shook my head at him.
" Aww never original, shoelace" He growled at that and lunged forward to grab me but I jumped back before he could.
That seemed to tick him off more as he took a step towards me and I launched into a full-speed run, a shit-eating grin on my face as I laughed at him.
" You are so dead, Ariel" He called out but I only ran faster. Cold air wiping at my face and running through my hairs. Thankfully they were tied up.
I could hear him running after me.
Some students stopped to look at the drama and others just rolled their eyes and continued forward.
I wouldn't blame them we chased each other so much that it now looked like a casual occurrence. I spotted the maple tree just ahead, maybe a meter away.
Maven, Benno, and Valenia were all wrapped around the bench under the shade, visibly cheering for us, well for me. That was the finish line, it was always understood.
Just as I was about to cross to the garden in strides, two arms wrapped around me, I was lifted up and swung around.
I shrieked but it turned into an uncontrollable laugh as Thane laughed in victory above me.
Stupid long legs.
Hmm, that is a good nickname for him.
As our laughs subsided I instantly looked around for Ash. He was standing a few feet away with his friends in a circle, no doubt eager to see his colour.
He locked eyes with me and I blinked in confirmation. Electric blue colour spilt from his hands and his friends hollered.
" You lost" Thane teased me, moving back a little as he unwrapped his hands from around my waist.
My mind was half on Ash but I forced a smile and tried to act natural. I stuck my tongue at him, keeping my focus on Ash from the corner of my eyes.
" Nice performance" Valenia snickered, coming to stand beside me. I grinned back at her and hi-fived her outstretched hand.
" Oh please," Thane snorted while rolling his eyes at her.
" Ash is a defender," Maven asked, although it was more like a statement. We followed her line of sight to Ash, electric blue floating around his hand.
" Nice colour man," Thane called out and Ash turned to look at him, smiling in acknowledgement. Waving, he turned back and headed to his section.
My lips stretched up in a proud smile.
" Can we go now, first class is history" Banno groaned from behind us and we all stifled a laugh at his annoyance.
" And you sure are excited about that" I teased him with a grin.
