If asked, Kagami would admit he's not been one to use profanities but the events of the last 2 days have definitely left it's toll. Upon waking up on the 3rd day of his new life he saw what appeared to be the ghost of an old man, circling about his room. He knew that he'd be living with ghosts and monsters now but after last night's failure this was the last thing he expected.
"Well damn first time meeting a ghost. Did you live here previously....or maybe you're from around here ?"
"Huh ?... You talking to me kid ? Wait a minute you shouldn't be able to see me. What are you kid ?" (Old Ghost)
"Trust me this is all new to me too. But what do you mean by I shouldn't be able to see you ?"
"Exactly that kid. I've been around for a few years and I've met a lot of strange people that could see ghosts but you.....you've got a different feel to you kid." (Old Ghost)
'I wonder if me being from another universe is somehow affecting my ability to sense Reiatsu or whatever. No I can sense them just fine.....maybe they have trouble sensing me ? I wonder if I can use that somehow ?'
"And to answer your question I'm not from around. I was just out on a stroll when I found this really cozy house but soon after a bunch of other geezers came and wanted a piece too. Obviously as a kind hearted senior I gave my permission but I haven't seen this many ghosts drawn to one place in a while." (Old Ghost)
From his smug look one could obviously tell he was not as important as he made himself believe but Kagami couldn't be bothered. 'What does all of this mean ? Could I have brought them here ?'
After asking a few more questions the old ghost left Kagami alone to gather his thoughts. Before leaving the room however, he found a folder holding documents for his transfer to Karakura High in April. It was currently October 7th so he had enough time to grasp his powers by then.
Breakfast was a new experience fir Kagami. Despite hearing the old ghost say there was a gathering, it was a challenge to focus on breakfast with 30 ghosts floating around. He asked around just to be sure but none of the other ghosts could explain why they liked being there either.
Seeing as he was helpless to do anything to the ghosts he decided to get to know the area. He spent most of the day learning about his surroundings and checking out certain locations important to the plot. The high school was bigger than it seemed in the anime but not particularly large. Weirdly enough the Kurosaki hospital was emptier than he thought.
'I seriously have no idea how he keeps his bills paid. I wonder if Urahara hooks him up in some way because I can't imagine Soul Society paid in human currency....much less for a so called dead captain.'
Speaking of Urahara, he intentionally avoided him because he was unsure if his condition would attract his attention. After eating out at a restaurant he returned home and spent the remainder of the day trying to sense Reiatsu. Another thing he added to his schedule was having a simple workout session before bathing for bed.
The schedule continued like that for the next 2 week. Breakfast, explore while jogging, lunch, reiatsu training, dinner, exercise, bathe then bed. The amount of ghosts living with him was now 50 but they made up for it by telling him interesting folklore and history lessons. He was also notably more fit than before, now able to do over a hundred sets of 20. He attributed it to being in an Anime world or maybe his Reiatsu training strengthened his body.
His daily schedule continued like normal until the 25th. He was about to leave his house only to see a pure black cat sitting on his welcome mat. He was aware that this could be any cat but the cat had eyes that held intelligence. Upon seeing the cat he made a mistake that, upon thinking about it later, was not a smart choice.

(Yoruichi's pov)
5 DAYS AGO
For the past week a particular black cat could be seen roaming the nearby streets. Normally no one would care, a few strays are nothing new. But certain eye witnesses would swear this cat was jumping from rooftop to rooftop. The cat then jumped off of the roof and landed in a nearby alleyway.
'I can't believe that Kisuke .... It's already been more than a week since then. True there has been a lack of ghosts but is it really a big deal ? There could be a ghost therapist in town. If it wasn't for-'
MEOOOWWWW
At that moment a young man with dark blue hair turned into said alleyway and without warning stepped on her tail. It could be due to the headset that the boy had on, or even due to the speed at which the cat disappeared at, but these 2 would not meet today. Less than a second after the incident, the cat could be seen more than 5 houses away. Despite the face being that of a cat, anyone could see a myriad of emotions.
'What.....what.....WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ?!'
The cat now stared at the young man in the distance who jogged on in ignorance. On it's face was a mixture of confusion, anger and fear.
'How ? Could I have gotten sloppy ? No. I may have stayed out of combat but it's impossible to have gotten this bad. It must be him. Let's see if I can get closer .... wait. I still can't sense him !'
PRESENT DAY
'I've been following this kid for nearly a week now and now I'm sure he has something to do with Kisuke's request. He doesn't give off any Reiatsu...matter of fact he has no presense at all. If he weren't in front of me I'd have thought he was an Illusion. I've tried killing intent, flaring my reiatsu and straight out stalking but still no reaction.
Then there's this weird ass house. I can't get a single reading of anything in there! Maybe he lives alone ? I have Kisuke to pull me out if anything goes wrong but how would he know ?.... Damn it! Here he comes'
".....What are you ?" (???)
(Kagami's pov)
'Damn it! I should've shut up. Okay this can go many ways but worse case scenario.....I won't have to worry about Aizen.... Wait is that really all that bad ?'
Kagami regretted it as soon as he said it but what could he do ? In all her years as the captain of the 2nd Division he refused to believe she hadn't killed anyone. Real life Isn't as nice as an Anime. It would be weird if he just switched lanes now so he decided to just go with it.
"You seem....not like ordinary cats. Wanna come in little fella ? It's just me 'living' here so some company would be nice."
He knew Yoruichi could sense the ghosts so it made no sense hiding it. Instead he opened the door and welcomed her in. He had 2 weeks to work on an explanation and though it wasn't the way he wanted to start, this would have to work.
As they entered the living room he could tell she was shocked as she visibly froze seeing the amount of ghosts floating around. Leaving her in her daze, he went to the kitchen and poured out some milk into a bowl. He wasn't sure if she'd be offended but until she revealed herself he'd treat her as a cat.
"Here you go girl....so ? What's so special about you ? Can you see those guys up there ?....It would be nice to know I'm not crazy."
Kagami chose his words carefully. First he called her fella but now said girl to show he was unsure of her gendet. Then he acted like if he knew nothing about the spiritual side by acting like he knew nothing about ghosts. All to give her the impression that this was all new to him and he saw through her by accident.
Yoruichi was no noob at this so she quickly recovered and drank the milk that was offered. Kagami began gently petting Yoruichi as he fed her the information he wanted her to know. Despite being a dog person one of his best friends in his old world was crazy about cats. After staying over several times it was inevitable he picked up something about how to treat them.
Time passed slowly for the 2 but Yoruichi became more confused the longer she spent with him.
'He seems like a normal boy with high sensitivity but.....why can't I sense him ? As soon as I entered the house I could sense the ghosts so it could be some special material or technique. But I've been next to him for a half hour and I haven't seen anything suspicious. I might need to ask Kisuke.....wait Kisuke! If this house marks Reiatsu then he hasn't sensed me for half an hour!'
While Yoruichi was thinking about the secret to the house Kagami heard a knock on the door. Despite finding it odd he went to answer it. The shock on his face when opening the door, inevitably led to trouble.
"Yare yare." (???)
"WAIT!" (???)
