Chapter 41 - Going In A Trip

"Wafer, do you know, I don't remember my childhood before I went to the palace. Maybe because of my suffering hardship in the palace working in the palace,"

When Hannah asked about her childhood, she thought not remembering a thing was from nervousness but whenever she racked her brain to retain a single memory, it never worked!

Lucette pursed her lips and looked at her companion. "It's time to create beautiful memories from now on, so the bad ones will flee five hundred feet under the ground."

She laughed and leaned on the wolf, seeing it didn't object she leaned more on its body, making its soft fur a warm pillow.

"You know, when I was a child when the vampire kids were learning to write and read. I learnt how to clean and wipe the floor. They were the hardest days in my life. As I grew up, the work increased and the problems too. I wanted to quit, but they didn't approve. The only thing I was able to do was dream."

Lucette talked and the smile never left her face. Her crimson eyes looked at the stars, then at the wolf.

"Let me tell you. I loved to make pranks on the others. Listen, a maid took a shawl my mother did for me and cut it to pieces, so I changed her cosmetics products, she had acne all over her face," Lucette said, laughing. "I miss those days. I will tell you another one…"

Lucette talked freely for hours. She told Wafer almost all the happy things she did in the past.

Rubbing her eyes, Lucette turned her face to see the wolf looking at her. The smile on her face cracked and she gulped.

"Wafer, what I told you will be a secret between us from now on. Don't tell anyone about it," she said, softening her voice. Wafer was a lonely wolf, whenever she met it, it would stay silent beside her, and so it might not know anyone there.

Wafer moved its head and licked her face. She laughed and played with its fur. Her eyelids dropped heavily. She slept hardly the past three days so the moment she closed her eyes, Lucette slept fast.

"Don't tell anyone," she murmured in her sleep.

Her eyelashes trembled. Lucette felt herself swaying. She wanted to open her eyes but she was tired. Two strong arms carried her and the warm chest cooled down her freezing body. The scent was so familiar, but her consciousness faded.

Lucette turned her head to the side and opened her eyes slowly. Seeing the familiar room, she sat on her bed. She looked at the fixed wall dumbly.

'How did I get in here?' she thought, rubbing her forehead.

The last thing she remembered was sleeping beside the wolf and she was at the house. Did Wafer carry her?

An image from last night popped into her mind. Someone indeed brought her here, but who? And how could she be with the wolf then the next second being carried in some stranger's arm? Maybe the stranger was one of the pack members, but why carry her? She should be awoken.

Lucette stayed in that position for a while before turning her head and looking at the time.

'One in the evening!' she exclaimed, 'It seems that my body was adapting to relax more often.' She hurried to freshen up and then went downstairs to prepare something to eat.

She put the steak on the plate, then the potato puree in a round small shape, and added some stirred asparagus nicely cut and was about to put the sauce at the side slowly.

Her hand holding the spoon neared the white plate slowly.

"You're here," the sound scared her causing the sauce to splash over the meat steak making the plat a mess.

She turned around, pursing her lips. "What do you want?" she asked the alpha who looked at the ruined dish. Lucette banged the spoon on the counter, and the loud sound echoed.

My masterpiece dish got ruined!

"I looked for you earlier to tell you that the construction in the house was done—"

"I already knew," she said. The alpha stood gazing at her. "Do you need something?" she asked.

"Did you make one dish only?" he asked, pointing at the counter behind her. Lucette nodded.

The alpha frowned and turned around to leave.

"Wait, you can eat it," she said and he stopped, then walked closer, held the plate and sat down, eating.

Lucette sat on the couch and watched TV. Her lips tightened hearing the alpha munching her food.

Though she cooked, she wasn't hungry. Her appetite lowered a lot since she fed from the alpha and the thirst was unbearable this time.

The alpha's existence bothered her a lot recently. Maybe because of him being her blood slave and she wanted to take another sip.

"My grandfather sent a message for us to visit him. We'll go after three days. Prepare yourself," he said, turning his head but he stopped midway. "Thanks for the food."

Lucette looked at his retracting back and her stomach growled. She sighed and went to the blood bank. The supplies lessened a lot.

'What can I do?'

The blood she got from the Medic Center didn't entice her. She wanted ...

"The alpha is driving over here. Did you arrange everything you need?" Hannah asked.

Lucette looked at her two suitcases and revised the things she took: clothes, bags, shoes, make-up products, gifts for the king and the queen and a blood tank. She nodded and asked, "How do I look?"

"Great," Hannah said, raising her thump.

Lucette looked at herself in the mirror one more time. She wore an a-line white dress with black dots. A narrow black belt tightened her thin waist. A black boot covered her feet. She straightened her hair and Hannah helped her put on make-up.

She had to leave a good first impression on the queen.

"Is the queen really as you told me?" she asked while she wore her long white coat. Hannah told her that the queen was a kind, considerate and loving person.

Hannah laughed and walked beside her. "No need to worry. Just be yourself, and she will like you for sure."

She added, "The Supreme Luna is a very kind woman."

57 hours later,

"Your hair is unkempt. You don't have the baseless knowledge of etiquette and have no sense of fashion. Adding to that, your lack of possessing any skills and your weak personality. My grandson's mate had those traits, unfortunately."

'Who said she is kind and considerate!'
