Chapter 46 - Feeding

Lucette laughed loudly looking at the mountain of money, jewellery and expensive golden items, she appeared like an ant in front of an elephant. She threw herself on them, playing with the money.

"I will buy the Supreme Alpha's castle and become the Luna," she said out loud.

"Hey, you, wake up."

She heard a familiar voice but ignored it and continued her enjoyment.

"Let my hand and stop giggling. I know you are awake."

"Let my money..." she murmured, grabbing the money forcefully.

"Stupid."

Lucette opened her eyes when she felt pain in her arm. Seeing two green orbs staring at her, she screamed and clutched the quilt.

"Why are you screaming?" the alpha said annoyingly, exited the bed, walked toward the bathroom and went inside.

Lucette woke up from her trance when the door was closed with a bang. Staring at the other side of the bed, she gasped. Did he sleep here too? Beside her? She thought. Terror crept inside her heart.

Lucette rose abruptly and tried to remember when he came. When she returned from the scroll the last night, she slept alone. The bed was empty! Did she have a memory loss? She stood in deep thought, rubbing her chin trying to remember but not, all she could think was her good night's sleep and her dream.

That annoying alpha disturbed her beautiful dream and pinched her too! She frowned looking at her red arm.

'it is not a big deal. They shared a bed only. Both of them slept on different sides.'

However, the mere thought of him lying beside her made her grimace. Didn't he refuse to be with her in the room on their first night here? What made him change his mind? This man is confusing her with his changing behaviours.

Since the alpha occupied the bathroom, she went to the wardrobe to change her nightdress. Choosing a comfortable red shirt, white pants and sandals, Lucette wore them, went out and began to tidy the room.

As she was arranging the bed, the alpha's phone buzzed. She ignored it at first but when it rang again; she knocked on the bathroom door.

"Your phone," she stated with a loud voice.

"Get it in."

Lucette heard his voice; she frowned and fetched his phone inside. As she entered, she saw the alpha by the sink, shaving. "Take," she said, stretching her hand. The alpha gazed at her. His hand jolted as he wounded his jaw.

Lucette froze in her place. She watched as a red liquid oozed from his jaw tracing a clear line to his neck. A sweet scent tickled her nostrils making her remember when she lost her mind. Her hand trembled causing the phone to fall. A strange sensation grew in her stomach. Her fang grew and her eyes blurred.

"You—"

Lucette's brain didn't register what happened after that. All she was thinking was how to feed her starved stomach. She moved fast and as she was to sink her teeth in the alpha's jaw; he yanked her by her hair.

"What the f***"

Lucette let out a short yelp, then struggled to free herself. The alpha held her face between his hands. Lucette refused to give up and turned her hand to the right side and stabbed her teeth into his arm, sucking. The alpha's body stopped, and let her do what she wanted. Lucette's thirst began to dissipate and her vision turned after she got her satisfaction.

As she was done, she froze in her place. Fear made her brain shut down. She hardly gulped the lump in her throat.

"Are you done?"

She heard a deep and harsh voice over her head. His breath was colder than the weather in her kingdom. She shivered and wanted to cry.

"If you are done, can you step back and take your hands from my body," he said, less coldly while trying to distance her.

Lucette clutched him even more, not caring that they were embracing each other, fearing he might hurt her when she would free him.

"What the heck, go away!"

"I-I am — I am s-sorry," she kept apologising, gazing at the place in which she bit turning darker. She raised her head slowly, peeking slowly at the alpha's expression. Seeing the alpha's face ashen, Lucette gulped and lowered her head again.

"If I told you I lost my mind again when I saw your blood, would you believe me?" she whispered.

"I will tell you something, My body is returning to its normal state, so I advise you to move away from me before I throw you away. So when I am being gentle, you better go OUT," he said, coldness dripping from his mouth.

Lucette jumped a few steps backwards. "Your phone," she pointed.

"It's nothing," he said unfazed, then squatted to grab his phone.

Lucette dropped her head and exited the bathroom like a wronged child. The alpha followed shortly after. "Why did you do that?" he asked. His voice was calm and composed.

After a brief moment of silence, "It was like my body craved for your —blood when I saw and smelled it. It is becoming worse, even the blood I brought with me didn't quench my thirst. It's hard not to feed from you," she explained, whispering the last sentence.

"The contract again!" he murmured unpleasantly, touching his chest. "The marking is stinging too," he informed.

"I am sorry," she apologised.

"Stop it! The only thing I need to know is how to cancel the contract," he said. Lucette stood there unmoving. "D*** it."

'He got angry again!' she thought.

"I contacted someone from my kingdom. I will probably get a reply when we return," she informed.

"Finally, we got something useful from you," he sneered, getting up.

seeing that he was leaving, Lucette took the opportunity to ask, "When are we going to return to the pack?"

"Why?" he asked, raising a brow.

"I didn't like it here," she replied, pouting. "I..."
