"I am sorry, I... was just looking for someone to ..." Lucette stammered.
She woke up a while ago and exited the room. She saw someone at the end of the hallway who resembled that fat man, so she followed him, hearing a commotion inside the room, her curiosity picked up and she ended up putting her ear on the door. Who thought the door would burst open?
Lucette looked over. She recognized the Alpha King standing behind the desk, but the other stared at her in a way similar to King Arius last night, full of fury and coldness.
'I didn't even know you,' she thought raising a brow.
Although he looked quite good looking, with deep green eyes, short black hair and tanned skin. But King Arius was more handsome.
'NO, the king is ugly! From the inside and outside!' she hummed.
The man strode away, exiting the room without looking back, ignoring the alpha king who yelled at him to stop.
'Rude man!'
The Alpha king sighed and gestured to her to walk to him. "I know that coming here is hard for you, but you'll get used to it in time, and don't mind my grandson's previous behaviour. He might have a hot temper, but I assure you he will take care of you," the Alpha king tried to reassure her, smiling at her, but all she could do was nod which made the alpha's smile wider, and he complimented her.
Lucette didn't register most of what the alpha said afterwards.
So, the man from earlier was the groom? What a piece of bad luck!
He eyed her as she owed him the world! She was stuck in this marriage too!
The Alpha king looked at her as if waiting for a response. 'What did he say?' Lucette nodded, and then the alpha patted her head and praised her once again. Lucette rubbed her nose and grinned.
"Now, get ready for the wedding," he said, then called someone and told her to accompany her.
She went with the woman. "Hm, can I ask you something?" Lucette asked.
"Yeah, sure you can. My name is Lea." the woman said, smiling at her.
"Lucette," she responded, smiled and asked, "Can you tell me what the wedding party looks like here?"
"In the pack, first, its name was the introduction ceremony, and second, all the pack leaders and our pack members will be present to celebrate the new Luna," Lea responded.
Lucette stopped walking and knitted her brows. "Luna?" What's with those strange words?
Lea walked to her. "The Luna is the alpha's wife, The leader of the pack after the alpha. We will introduce you to the pack members as their Luna. Don't worry, it's a simple ceremony," she explained.
'Leader? It's so tempting!'
For the next hours, Lucette got ready to celebrate the first party in her life. She wore a sky blue off-shoulder dress, with a long and large sleeve, and nicely done with flower patterns. Eyeing herself in the mirror, her hair was straight. Her hair was curly by nature, thus she used many hair oils to straighten it and failed.
But now it is straight!
It is like magic! (No, it's just the hairdryer)
Lucette turned and looked at herself while beaming. She thanked the woman and stared back at the mirror, but her smile didn't last when Lea bought her shoes to wear a high heel! At first, she refused and wanted flat shoes instead, but the dress was knee-length from the front and long in the back, so wearing matching shoes was a must. Lea said that she needed to be classy in her introduction ceremony.
And the training began, straighten your back, don't look down, and try walking naturally. Lucette pursed her lips. She felt like she was going to fall on her head.
What classy? She would be happy if she didn't make a joke herself!
Lucette heaved a sigh of relief when someone knocked on the door.
"Aren't you ready yet?" asked the woman after getting in, her hazel eyes widened when she saw her. "Wow, you look so beautiful."
Lucette felt hot in her cheeks. 'No one told me something like that.'
"You look beautiful too," she said. The woman had short blonde hair and wore a knee-length violet dress which hugged her body showing her huge belly.
She laughed and said, "Oh, I am Hannah, beta Jordan's mate."
"Lucette, nice meeting you," she said.
"Hannah, shall we go now, or wait for the alpha?" Lea asked.
Hannah shook her head and looked at Lea. "Let's go," she said, and they followed her.
It seemed the alpha was angry. It would be better if he didn't show up at the party! With his grim face, he would scare everyone away. Her wish didn't work as he stood at the end of the corridor.
Lucette pursed her lips. That rude man didn't even look at her and walked away.
'Is he waiting for me to follow him? Dream on! She was the princess! Fake princess, but still he should not regard me as air!'
Lucette crossed her hands over her chest and raised a brow while the two women stood beside her with wide mouths. The man didn't stop, but she didn't give up easily. Hannah came and tried convincing her to follow that rude man.
Lucette sighed and walked toward him in slow strides. As she reached him she stomped her feet causing her to nearly trip, holding onto his arm to prevent herself from falling.
The man glared at her. "Let go!" he said, trying to pry her hands from his arm, but she held firmly at him.
'When you worked as a maid you should have firm hands, or they would cast aside you!'
Orson stopped when Hannah and Lea stepped near them, but he walked fast, and with her hand still on his arm, she was pulled and forced to fasten her steps to match his.
As they walked outside the pack house, the cold caressed Lucette's skin. She was adapted to cold weather as it was freezing mostly in the kingdom.
They walked to the venue. Lucette gasped. The scenery looked amazing, with the falling of the snow, people were standing in pairs or groups chatting and laughing, she noticed the Alpha king with other two men talking with him, but when he saw them, he rushed to them and introduced her to the pack.
"Hola, Tonight is a joyous event. My grandson Orson chose a bride for the sake of peace. The enmity between the vampires and the werewolves will end because of this union. Welcome your new luna," he said, and the whole pack said, 'Hola.'
Lucette's heart jumped. Why did it seem like they were going to fight instead of celebrating?
The man beside her didn't utter a word throughout the whole duration.
'Is he mute?'
Lucette enjoyed the party afterwards, but one thing she didn't understand was, why people were not talking with their Alpha! They looked at him with... fear?
After the party, Lucette stood not knowing what she would do.
"Come with me," the alpha said.
He talked, finally!
Lucette walked with him, her hand still clutching to his arm. They reach the car. She let go of his arm and hummed in annoyance as he shot her a disgusted look and entered the car.
"Where are we going?" she asked, getting in the car.
"Home," he answered, driving away.
'Home?' she didn't ask and after just a few minutes, the car stopped.
Lucette eyed the two-story house. "Are we going to live here?"
"Not exactly. You are going to live here."
