I watched, stunned as Gora finally stepped out of her black sphere. They had constantly been moving through the forest for days when Gora had started to rank up. The girl had experienced backlash almost immediately and was trapped in her orb. Gora had been stuck in there for weeks. I was beginning to think she'd never come out.
I felt a shift in the forest. As the princess stepped out of her evolution barrier. I found myself holding my breath as I gazed upon a beautiful black-haired woman. Only when she was totally out that I exhale. I felt a slight shiver down my spine as I looked into the woman's glow yellow eyes. I shook off the strange feelings and tried to get a better look at the new Gora.
Moments after she made her appearance, the princess raised hell saving the baby monkey. Something told me the girl was no simple layer three. Before she evolved, she had been at least layer four in body alone. Her backlash had undoubtedly strengthened her body quite a bit. I was scared to guess how strong the girl had gotten. With the ease with which she dealt with gorillas, I guest she was at least a layer five.
"By the Goddess! She can't be more than 12 years old and has already reached layer five." I thought as I watched Gora make short work of a layer five gorilla. The princess had shown her ruthlessness by disabling both of the beast arms. She left the woman known as Frons to finish the creature when she was done. Gora ran through the dead trees. From the looks of it, she was headed for the layer six alpha ape. However, she didn't get far as a black figure jumped in front of her. Blocking the princess from advancing.
"So, the hound returns. I figured the Jackal would have been off to find a new master by now." I said as I examined the beast. The dog was quite close to becoming a layer five himself. But without a master, a Jackal wouldn't evolve. Years of breeding them had caused the once noble race of hell hounds to become what they are today. The thought alone made me feel sorry for Canis. He had lost his twin, and now he is unsure of his master. (How will you win him back?) I wondered as the hound demanded Gora to prove her worth. Lucky Frons, the newly evolved spider monkey, was there to translate.
She was another mystery to me. The woman had chosen to become the princess's guardian when she evolved. ( The way she looks at her is the same way my sister does.) I thought as I watched Frons stare at Gora with awe and curiosity. It was good to forbid Mog to become a guardian without the king's say so, or she'd be here with the Gora now.
"Hmmm!" My eyes darted around me as a strange sensation of fear gripped me. My chest grew tight as the air around me became colder and more challenging to breathe. Some monster had released an enormous amount of killer intent. Blood lust like no other flooded the air. Whoever it was would no doubt be able to find me. The blood lust came from a being that has slaughtered thousands. I got away from Gora and her group immediately. I had to be prepared to fight the newcomer if it came to it. (It looks like this is the end of your story, princess.) I thought as I got far enough away. That I stopped feeling the presence of a killer. That's when I noticed my error.
"Impossible… How?!" I had to stop myself from shouting. I had located the source of the blood lust, and it came from none other than the princess herself. I was so stunned that I stayed still when she started to move. Canis and the two monkeys were also in a state of shock. We all just stayed put as the princess raced off. Both the hound and the monkeys were still shaking. I was confused, to say the least, if not a little angry. (How did this child put such fear in my heart?) I thought as I gritted my teeth. She most refined her body to a layer five, yet she was able to scare me. A beast three layers above her.
AHHHH, AHA!
Two roars resounded in the woods. It was a challenge, and the other was accepting that challenge. I quickly made my way to sounds and found Gora face to face with the gorilla known as Log. A piece of me wished to rip the ape's heart out for what he did to the other Jackal. In fact, I had decided that if Gora died today, I would most definitely kill the beast. It wouldn't be out of revenge for the princess but for Canem. The little pup deserved better.
It didn't take long for the fighting to start. The gorilla had carelessly angered the girl. To my surprise, Gora didn't pick use her blade to fight but her fist. I didn't know the girl's obsession with Ti-Ki, but the choice to use it today may get her killed. If she used her blade, no doubt in my mind would win. The princess had also released her killer intent. I watched as the dark, murderous aura surrounded her. This new development visibly shook the layer six gorillas, recovering quickly. I, too, shook off the fear easily now that I knew where it was coming from. There was still a tiny amount in the back of my mind. ( What sort of creature is she really.) I thought as I watched the to go at it.
For a moment, Gora had the upper hand combo-ing some of the beginner Ti-Ki techniques. I was surprised at how well she had implemented the moves in actual battle. It was one thing to master techniques, but it is pretty tricky to implement them in actual combat. One has to have an in-depth understanding of the battle itself. The princess didn't keep the advantage for long, however. Once Log started to use his element, the girl found it harder and harder to land attacks. Things begin to look grim when the beast manages to catch Gora in his grasp. (This is where I usually say goodbye to you, but I know better.) I thought. The girl had a way of getting out of dire situations. It was like the Goddess of Chaos herself was watching over the half bread princess.
Boom Boom Boom
The gorilla slammed the girl into the ground over and over. Then he began to swing her around like a rag doll. Log laughed as he bashed Gora into trees and drug her across the ground. It looked as if the girl was already dead the way her body went limp and blood sprayed everywhere. I still didn't call it even when the gorilla threw her to the ground for the last time. She didn't move an inch and crimson blood leaked from her head.
"You should have known your place, little nat!" Log announced as he to struggled to move. The girl had done a number on him. That and he had yet to fully recover from his fight with the Tigre. I was sure Gora had opened up some of his old wounds. Canis and Frons both looked shocked. Canis held his head down in shame and sadness. The wide-eyed Frons was battling with her emotions as well. The woman stared at the downed Gora as her eyes began to water. The grip on her blade tightened, and she started to walk. Canis started to growl and follow her. Both were prepared to give their life in revenge. (Just wait a moment.) I thought as I could already hear small cracking noises coming from Gora.
"Who told you to move?!" A deep raspy voice announced. The words came from the princess as she began to move slowly but surely. I couldn't help but crack a smile as I felt the blood lust from early back and in full force. Gora finally made it to her feet, spitting out some of her teeth and blood. When she was up, I could make out a small smile on her bloody face. I felt a shiver creep down my spine.
"I almost forgot about my element. I can't tell you how long I wanted to do this." Gora said as she swiped her hand in the hair. Moments later, a 6-foot long black crescent blade descended on Log. I could feel an enormous amount of Ki coming from the technique.
Boom Boom Boom!
Log recovered from his initial surprise and conquered a wall. Unfortunately, his stone wall became dusty when struck by the black blade. He had to summon three divisions to stop Gora's attack. Also, unluck for him was his Ki pool compared to Gora's. The princess had three times the Ki as the alpha, a fact that still shocked me.
Boom Boom Boom Boom
Blade after blade sored at the gorilla, who had no choice but to summon wall after wall to protect himself. The blades didn't move fast, but I guess they were weighted. The black blades didn't travel far before they would head towards the ground, where they would smash and cut into the ground with ease.
"Hahahahah, I didn't think this would be this fun!" The princess laughed mischievously as she walked closer. Every step she took, she would release another blade. She only stopped her assault after getting closer to Log.
"Sadly, our fun has to end sometime. Gora said, and the ground shook. I felt a massive amount of Ki being released. Log started to run but had exhausted himself after using so much of his Ki to block Gora.
BOOM!
Huge black hands sprung up on the sides of the alpha gorilla. The hands wrapped around Log in as he struggled to getaway. The gorilla's eyes went wide in pain as the towering black hands squeezed hard. (The princess has learned to control her Ki so fast.) I thought, not even surprised anymore. After ranking up to layer three, a person can project their Ki outside their body without the help of other objects. Usually, a newly minted layer three would take years to perform such a move. Gora had just broken through, and her control was perfect. Even as she overflowed the technique, Ki.
"Hhhh...How?" Log said with a new fear in his eyes. Gora closed her fist, and the black hands did the same.
"Quiet, we have a visitor. Gora said as she looked around. I had sentenced the being as well, hiding in the shadows. The tigre jumped out of its hiding place right behind Canis and Frons. The beast's appearance shocked the par, but Gora didn't flinch. Log began to laugh loudly.
"I never thought... I'd be happy to… See you! Log said, struggling to move. Gora just smiled as she turned to the tigre. Her eyes glowed. She told the gorilla that the beast didn't come to save him. Her words made the gorilla struggle even more. I, too, knew that the tigre had come for Log but for Gora.
"You finish him off. I'll just enjoy myself with a bit of a snack." The tigre said with a toothy grin. Gora didn't even look at them; her head stayed forward-looking at Log. The gorilla was busy cursing at the princess.
SNAP! CRACK!
"A nat should know their place! Gora said she closed her hand entirely. The gorilla was crushed with tremendous force. That snapped the layer six beast's bones in a second. The black hands disappear, dropping the dead alpha to the ground with a thud. The princess then dusted her hands off and turned to the tigre. The beast took this chance to launch a surprise attack. It jumped over the stunned Frons and Canis and sent wind claws in the direction of the smiling Gora.
Boom!
Dusty covered Gora blocking her from view. The tigre's grin grew wider at the apparent hit. I honestly didn't believe that would be enough to kill the girl. Just before the cloud cleared, a voice entered my mind. I was shocked, to say the least because the voice was none other than Mog.
("I need you back here now. The war isn't going the way Gorro and Motus hope.") Mog stated. I paused for a moment. I thought I had been doomed to never see my homeland again, or at least not so soon. I wonder how back the war with the dark elves was going for Mog to ask for my help.
("Do not get too excited! You will only be here for enough time for me to rest. Then you go right back to watching over Gora!") Mog announced, no doubt readying my thoughts. Since she had read my mind, I thought of the one question I had before I would set off for home. After asking my question, all I heard was laughter.
("Are you worried about her? What a surprise! Do not worry. The queen will surely return to claim her throne, or have you forgotten that I have seen everything you have. My dear Gora will return to me when the time is right.") Mog exclaimed. There wasn't an ounce of doubt in her voice. With that, I gave the princess one last look before heading off. I was happy to go back home, but I'd be lying if I said I would miss watching Gora. I had to admit the girl was quite entertaining to watch.
Layer Three: Layer three beings can start to use element Ki without the help of objects such as weapons or armor. Or, in Gora's case, rocks and fruit.
