Chapter 35 - The Reckoning

Gora

I walk out of my barrier, placing my bare feet on the earth. I felt the blades of grass tickle my toes. I quickly noticed how big my feet were; not only my feet, but my legs had grown as well. ( Did I get taller?) I thought as I examined the rest of my body. My arms were much longer than it was a few months ago.

Grrrrr

My stomach growling brought me back to my senses. Gorillas were attacking our hideout in the dead woods. (Getting something to eat is out of the question) I thought as I looked around. I noticed Frons in her human form. She had three-layer four gorillas in front of her. Frons looked at me with shock. She wasn't the only one the gorillas had also paused to gaze at me. Although the woman was surrounded, I didn't feel worried about Frons. She seemed to be holding her own. When I leveled up, I left her my sword and taught her to hold it correctly. It was all I could teach her before I ranked up my core. I scanned the area for Leafy but didn't see her nearby. I noticed five other gorillas from layers 2-4 climbing up a tall tree a few yards away. Their focus wasn't on Frons but something in the tree. After taking a closer look, my eyes widen in rage.

Crack!

I pushed off the ground with all my force cause the earth beneath my feet cracked a little. I made it to the tree in no time as I scaled the colossal tree. I Kicked every ape in my way. Some put up a fight. Others ran In fear, a sight I wasn't used to seeing from the beast I fought. However, none of them stood a chance, and sounds of screaming monkeys filled the air.

"Leafy are you alright?" I asked the spider monkey when I reached her hiding spot at the top of the tree. I reached my hand out to the beast. Leafy poked her head out of the leaves. At first, she looked terrified. But after she recognized me, the little beast leaped in my arms. Leafy hugged me tightly. Put her face in my bosom. (I'm going to have to get used to these things.) I thought as I looked at my new chest. Thanks to my evolution, I had grown into a young woman in a matter of months. Meaning I now had a moderate size bosom. I shook the thoughts away. I had more important things to think about at the moment.

I slowly climbed down with Leafy in my arms. When I

reached the ground, Frons was there waiting for us. The gorillas that were attacking her had stopped for some reason. I figured it was because I displayed my power when I saved Leafy. I ignored them for the time being and focused on the sisters. Frons was busy eyeing me up and down.

"Master is that you?" Frons asked, her face full of confusion. I nodded my head as I handed her Leafy. I didn't like the idea of Frons calling me master. But I didn't have time to correct her. The gorillas weren't going to be stunned forever. Plus, I was itching to try out my new body.

"Let's save the introduction for later. For now, I need you to talk to them." I said as I waved my hands at the enemy. Frons

nodded at me but was still eyeing me curiously. I had to slap her hands off me a couple times before she could focus. The spider monkey kept trying to touch me. Her prime target was my new breast.

"Can you quit it?" I asked as I began to stretch my new body. I knew I was most likely going to have to fight our way out.

"Tell them all that if they do not leave in the next minute, I'm going to start killing.' I said with all seriousness. These beasts had no doubt come with Log. Meaning their goal was to kill Leafy and Fron. I wasn't going to let anything happen to Leafy or Frons, and after talking with the Goddess of chaos herself. I decided to start living more like a demon.

As Sir George was scared of my power, afraid of the way my mind worked. My instinct was to kill anything that got in my way. I tried my best to fight my instincts even in my new life. In my old life, I told myself, "A human shouldn't think the way I did." But I was no longer human. As Gora, the half-demon princess. My instincts wouldn't be frowned upon. In fact, they would be celebrated.

"Hoo awe ho aawee," Frons said in what I assumed was the beast tongue. The gorillas had genuine terror in their eyes. Some even ran away. ( Did not expect that.) I thought to myself. I was confused, to say the least. But then I remembered my conversation with Lea. She had congratulated me on reaching layer five.

"Master, they can see that your not a normal layer three. Even I can tell that is not your real layer. You have the aura of an alpha beast." Frons Said, noticing my confused expression. (So it is true I've reached layer five, no, maybe even higher.) I thought as I looked at my body.

Aaaahhh!

A roar cut my thoughts short. From the forest emerged a layer of five black gorillas. The creature wasn't as tall or broad as Log, but he was still bigger than me. The gorillas had a small horn in its head, just like Logs.

I watched as the newcomer showed up. Fron's grip tightens around the blade in her hand. She gritted her teeth at the beast in front of us.

"Who is he?" I ask Frons. The woman looked down for a moment, but I could tell she was boiling with rage. Leafy, on the other hand, looked scared.

"He the one who injured mother. Bark is his name, and he's Logs most trusted follower." Frons said. After she was done speaking, my eyes went to the one they called Bark. The beast was looking too cocky for my liking. I felt a little rage myself after hearing what Frons had to say. Although I didn't know Leaf was for long, I had considered her a friend, and to see this beast was the reason for her downfall. Made me quite mad.

"Hello, tiny Leaves, it's been a long time, hasn't it? Bark said with what looked to be a grin on his ugly face. Frons moved to step in front of me, but I stopped her. I told her I would handle this.

"So you are the second in command? Meaning if I kill you, Log will no doubt come running. That is good. I have a bone to pick with your master." I said nonchalantly. I stretched a little more as I started to walk towards the beast. I could tell my words had angered Bark, but I didn't care.

"A puny human dares to challenge me! Bark yelled as he charged me. The 6-foot tall beast moved with incredible speed, but I just kept walking. As if I was on a stroll through the woods.

Boom!

Barks fist collided with the side of my face sending me flying. I crashed into a tree after tree before hitting the ground. I Layed there for a second, not moving an inch. I heard Bark laugh a little with his minions, and I listened to Frons make her way towards me.

"Haha, haha hahaha! I cackled like a madwoman as I slowly got to my feet. I felt only a tiny bit of pain radiating from my face where I'd been struck. But it felt like I had been slapped more than punched by a layer five beast. (It's time to show this beast what I can really do.) I thought as I continued to laugh. Frons looked at me with worry, but I paid her no mind. I just stared at Bark. I had just realized something important I was closer to a layer six beast than a layer five. I was a peak layer five demon, and it was time to assert my dominance.

"I forgot to tell you. I'm not just a human. I'm also a demon!" When I was done speaking, I rushed Bark. The beast looked shocked but managed to recover.

Crunch! crack

A sicking crack could be heard as my fist collided with Barks. Before my hand touched him, I used void magic to make my fist heaver. Barks arm fell limp as he screamed in pain. I wasn't done, however, and as the beast walked back in pain, I made my move. (Stone palm.) I thought as I twisted my hips and stretched out my palm.

Boom!

The massive beast was struck square in the chest with the move. Bloodshot from his mouth just before the force sent him into the sky. Bark landed on his back and lied motionless. I was about to finish him when the remaining gorillas charged after me. One came from the side while the other tried to flank me. My eyes glared at the gorilla on the right side of me. The beast stopped dead in his tracks, petrified by my stare. However, the gorilla behind me didn't stop and was seconds from striking me when my hand stretched out suddenly. I grabbed the beast right out of the air. Still, my gaze never left the one in front of me.

Snap!

I snapped the flanking beast's neck with ease. It felt as if I had just broken a small twig with my fingers. The remaining beast dropped to the ground in despair. I threw his now lifeless companion to the ground and began to walk towards him.

"I thought I told you lot to scram, or I'd start killing you off. Did you think I was lying? I asked the beast. The gorilla struggles to get to his feet and run. ( You had your chance to escape, but that chance is gone now.) I thought as I began to grab the fleeing creature.

AHA!

A roar stopped me, however. I watched as the wounded Bark began to rise to his feet. I giggled a little to myself. As I watched him. I decided to let the other gorilla escape hoping that he would bring Log to me.

"Damn you!" Barks said as he finally stood up. Blood poured out of his mouth as he used his one good arm to hold his side. ( Look how the tables have turned.) I thought in amusement.

"This situation reminds me of Leaf's last stand. One wounded beast against two alphas." I said as I gestured for Frons to come near me. In a second, the woman was at my side. She glared at the injured Bark, and her knuckles turned white as she gripped the blade tighter. I whispered my game plan to Frons, who grinned madly.

Crack!

I pushed off the ground at incredible speed leave Frons behind. Bark dodged my lazy blow without too much effort. The minute he evaded me, Frons was there to swing her sword. She caught the gorilla on his side, but just barely. Bark had managed to dodge a lethal attack. Before he could worry about his new wound, I came back, Kicking at Bark. He used his broken arm to take the blow.

Ahhhhh!

Bark screamed in pain as my kick craked even more bones in his arm. Frons wasted no time in attacking again. She swung her sword down before at the alpha. Bark put his arm up on instinct to block her attack. It was the only thing he could do to save his life.

Squish!

Frons swung down with all her might, cleaving the gorilla arm in two. Blood sprayed everywhere. Some even got on my now stretched-out shirt. The black blade my father gave me was covered in blood as well. Bark let out a gut-wrenching scream before dropping to his knees. I stared at the now armless beast. I felt no pity for Bark. In fact, I was happy to see him this way.

"Now it's like deja vu. Leaf also lost two of her arms." I said through my gritted teeth. I wanted to bash the gorilla's head in with a hammer, but I stopped myself. ( I don't have the right to take his life, that honor belongs to another.) I thought as I glanced at the shaking Frons.

"Frons, he is yours to do with as you wish." I said as I began to stretch my legs. The spider monkey never took her eyes off of Bark. I decided I would let her get her revenge. I walked away, finding Leafy hiding behind a tree. She was shaking in terror. My heart ached for the little creature.

"I'll be back okay. Your sister will need you when she is done. So I need you to be strong okay?" I asked Leafy in my softest voice. The spider monkey nodded her head but was still shaking. I walked away on my way to get my own revenge. (I'm coming for you, Log!) I thought to myself. What started as a walk turned into a whole sprint. I was headed in the direction the last gorilla fleed in; unfortunately, I didn't get far before something burst through the tree in front of me. I had to stop myself from running into the new arrival.

"Well, hello to you too. I was wondering when you'd show up." I said after seeing the familiar face in front of me.
