"Countrymen, please join me in welcoming the guest of honor. Princess Gora Hydra!" A servant in a black in a red suit introduced me as I entered the ballroom. The place was huge, capable of holding hundreds of people. A crowd of demons all faced me now, causing me to freeze where I was. Mog tapped me on my shoulder, giving me the encouragement I needed to take a step.
The room parted as I began to walk down the long walkway. All the nobles dressed to kill. They all wore some variation of red and black in support of the royal family. As I walked by, I got a few dirty looks, but no one said anything. They all clapped and placed fake smiles on their faces.
At the end of the hallway stood my father. He was staring at me in awe. His yellow pupils shined in the light of the torch lights. The way he looked at me was as if I was all he could see. Next to him was his trusted advisor Motus. He didn't seem fazed at all by my entrance.
"All hail his majestey the king!" I said, kneeling to bow in front of my father. It was customary for me to greet him like this in public.
"Stand up, my dear." The king said as he placed his hands on my face. His eyes stared deep into mine. Then my father gestured for me to sit next to him. I did as he said, happy to be done walking. The short walk from here to the throne seemed like it took me ages.
"Now that the guest of honor has arived we can start this party!" My father announced. The crowd erupted into small cheers, but it quickly died down. I took my seat with Mog and Drak standing behind me.
"Your late for your own party, your a chip off the old block." My father said, giggling like a child. We had been late. I convinced Mog to take me to the actual festival. This stuffy ball was only for the nobles. The real party was with the commoner. They had a party on the streets of the capital. There were games, drinks, and most importantly, there was street food.
The food the chefs serve here is good, but nothing beats fried street meat. I had convinced Mog and Drak to take there before we came. It was hard getting my head maid on board, but she let me go after promising that I wouldn't mess up my dress. I also had to do a few more twirls to sweeten the deal.
"The princess insisted that we go to the festival first, but the important thing is we made it here. Doesn't her highness look elegant today? Mog asked my dad. She was fishing for a compliment from the king.
"Yes! she does. Your a splitting image of your mother." Father said as he touched the pendent on my neck. He then looks to Mog.
"You were right to give her the neclace. It suits her perfictly." The king said. Mog nodded in approval but said nothing. I was busy watching the crowd spotting a few envious eyes on me. My father's wives weren't happy with my seating arrangement. I ignored them as I spoke with my father. He was asking me how my training had been going. I use the time with him to get at all my complaints. I was angry with him for a multitude of reasons. So, I took my chance to give the man a piece of my mind.
"Whats this about me still have to train in the sword. Did Duae not tell you about our bet?" I scolded. I was trying to figure out why he was so adamant about me learning swordsmanship. My father laughed off my question, telling me that "all would be explained in time." ( I'm getting tired of everyone telling me that.) I thought, rolling my eyes at him.
Our conversation then turned to lighter things. Mog and my father were both put in their guesses on which element I would awaken. Mog said earth like my mother, but my father was sure id be a fire user. I could care less as long as I got one. It was rare for people to unlock elements. So, I didn't want to jinx myself. I spent most of my time talking with Mog or my father, but I refused to speak to anyone else. I had even declined a few offers for a dance. There were only a few, and most were from small noble families looking to connect with a royal. I hadn't learned how to dance so. It was a good thing I turned down the offers. I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of everyone.
"Excuse my interuption my lord but its all most time for the gift ceromony." My father's advisor spoke, getting my attention. He was so silent I had forgotten he was even there. My father nodded and in agreement and stood. (Finally! let's move this thing along already.) I thought as I waited for the announcement my father would give.
"Ladies and gentlemen. It is time for the gifting ceromoney. I invite the royal family to come up and present your gifts to the princess." The king stated. My brothers all made their way to the front. I was actually excited for this part. The eight most influential people in the kingdom were expected to give me gifts. They would no doubt be costly.
First up was the imp tribe, my brother Theon and his mother, Raya. Theon was tall for an imp, standing at around 5 feet. He had yellow skin and black hair. I didn't really know much about him. He hardly ever spoke. The imp pair gave me a dress and a ring. I expected nothing less from Raya. She and Mog loved buying new outfits for me to wear. The ring they gave me was a magic storage ring. (A gift that must have cost a fortune.) I thought, thanking them.
After the imps came to the goblins, my brother Guko and his grandfather approached. Guko was probably my favorite brother, so I was looking forward to his gift. Although we never really spoke, I admired his determination. Guko gifted me with earings that could store mana. A practical gift even though they were too fancy for my taste. I thanked my brother.
Then it was the troll's turn. Naku, step up by himself. I wasn't expecting much from the troll tribe. Trolls didn't really care for me. Naku gave me an assortment of books, all Ti-Ki manuals. Trolls specialized in a hand-to-hand fight. So, they knew a thing or two about Ti-Ki. I thank my brother genuinely. The gifts would come in handy for me.
The Arach didn't show up to the event. Which I thought strange but figured it was for the best. The Arach tribe had caused trouble for many of the tribes present. They did, however, send me a gift—the silk from the queen herself—a scarce present. The queen Arach's thread was tougher than steel and highly flexible. It could be used to make all manner of things.
Beastmen went next. Rogar and my brother Koga. Their gift was a strange one. They gave me a pair of Jakel puppies as pets. Skinny little black dogs. Jackels were said to be decedents of the hell hound, a mythical beast from long ago. They were strong and fast, known for being the best guard dogs.
From the incubus tribe, I received another shock. My brother Charm and his cousin, another incubus, were the ones to present it to me. They had given me expensive jewels and dresses. What was strange was the lengths they went to to get them. The kingdom's most renowned artist handcrafted each gift. Mog told me to watch out for the cousin. His eyes were glued to me the whole time. He was a handsome man, maybe a few years older than me. His gaze made me quite uncomfortable, so I thanked them quickly.
Next up was the vampirear. They also gifted me with books. Based on Ki techniques. I took the books happily. I was excited to learn more about the methods of the Vampear.
The Devil tribe next. To my surprise, Mira didn't step up, but her son did. My last brother, prince Gorro the second. Gorro was the spitting image of my father. Black hair, yellow eyes, and two longhorns. Unlike my father, my brother was more serious. He was the one brother I could never read. I received a simple black bracelet. I thought it might be a joke, but Gorro jr told me it was a powerful defense item. Capable of taking a lethal blow from a layer seven fighter. (This may come in handy someday.) I thought as I thanked my brother. After the last gift, it was then my father's turn.
The king gestured for the guards to open the door. In came a small imp carrying a long box. After reaching the throne, he dropped to his knees.
"I a gift from his majesty the king." The man said. My father opened the box, reliving a black, long sword. The sword was embedded with a purple gem shaped like a heart on the hilt. The blade was magnificent. I'd never seen anything quite like it. I hugged my father tightly, thanking him for my gift. I didn't really want a sword, but the weapon was too beautiful to pass up.
After the ceremony was done, I thanked everyone for coming and sat back down. I couldn't wait to open all my presents when I was alone. Maybe not all the clothes I received but definitely the books. As I sat there thinking, something strange happened. My insides started to turn, and it felt like I was going to throw up. My vision started to blur, and my heartbeat raced. Mog touched my shoulder, noticing my distress.
"Gorro it's time!" Mog announced. My father looked at me worriedly and Asked Mog if she was sure. The maid only nodded in reply.
" Silence!" My father's words shook the room. The crowd of demons all shut their mouths immediately.
"I asked that everyone back up. Its time for Gora's awakening!" Motus, the king's advisors, shouted. The crowd began to step back slowly, and all pupils focused on me. I was busy fighting the urge to hurl, to pay them the people any mind. My breath was getting heavier, and it felt like the entire room was spinning. I looked to Mog for help, but she didn't move. That's when the pain hit me.
Heat coursed through my veins like someone had poured hot lava straight into my blood. I screamed in pain as I gripped my chair with all my might. Something inside of me was about to come out. I knew it would hurt like hell when it did. So, I tried to fight it, but it was of no use.
Boom!
Black energy exploded from me in the shape of a sphere. Weight pushed down on my like a giant was stepping on me. The chair broke under me, and I was now on the ground. I struggled to stand, but the weight of the Arua was too strong.
"Only one layer?"I heard a voice from the crowd. I didn't have time to think about the words. I could feel that I wasn't completely done yet.
Boom Boom Boom Boom!
Four more black spheres appeared around me, each bigger than the last. The palace wall shook profusely. Some of the unlucky people got too close and got blown away. I felt two arms wrap around me, and the weight pushing down on me all but disappeared. I turned to see Mog holding me tight. I could tell she was taking the brunt of the weight for me. I wanted to thank her. Unfortunately, I couldn't speak thanks to the pain I was experiencing. I also knew that I still wasn't finished. I looked up at Mog Apologeticly As I stopped trying to hold by the energy inside me.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Five more layers appeared, causing an earthquake. The ground beneath started to crack, and I could see people running for their life. Stones fell from the ceiling bounce off the black sphere with ease. After the 9th layer appeared, I could feel Mog begin to struggle. After the tenth Mog, my father and Drak were pushed away from me by force. When Mogs Arms let got, I felt pressure push down on me. My bone cracked and broke. I wanted to scream but was unable to. I felt like a mountain was sitting on my back. Before I could pass out from the trauma, I felt a hand pull me back. Then I lost consciousness.
